Well Ep 3 is here. "The sword of sorrow" is the ep's title.
It looks like Mo Hengs idea against them Construct is to make an armor like that of IRON MAN.

I finally forced myself to accept the machines in a historical Chinese setting, but now they give us machines with intelligence? It would be so much easier to accept these things if there was a character that was surprised in our place, so that we would be pulled into the story through that character.

The guy with the sexy hair feels like the protagonist, but the girl with the design of a background character has the sword from the title, which should mean that she's the protagonist (unless the sexy hair guy gets the sword later).

When the girl asked why they're doing such horrible things, I realised: those people are killing just to look like the villains. If you want to capture a country, you go for the castles. What is the point of massacring innocent villagers? If you manage to capture the country that you were aiming for, those villagers would belong to you, and the men will fight for you.

Sexy hair guy looks much better in his poor man clothes. The rich man costume doesn't go with his design. Perhaps, he needs to comb his hair. Also, is the anime trying to make him like Suzaku? I really hope not.

Well, Pikachu got her arms back!

(I don't know anybody's names. The subtitles give you one name, but the dialogues give you another. I wish we would just get the Japanese names when we watch the Japanese version.)

Yun is one useful thing, I could use a Yun in my life right now. I must say this series isn't bad and I hope it will continue to get better now.

Zhao seems to be cosy with the young empress calling each brother and sister while she is killing innocent villagers. I like the progression its taking and I hope when Yin meets with Zhao it will be epic.

God, I hate CR, the subbed names don't match what the characters say.

I don't care what the official Chinese romanization is, why can't they use the Japanese names? It's what the characters are actually saying after all.

Otherwise, I liked the episode.

I do wonder though if the Empress is even aware that her Generals are killing civilians. Considering how young she is and that she doesn't seem to take her position all that seriously, it wouldn't surprise me if the army are doing these things behind her back.
"You talk too much. Think too much."

"The world doesn't revolve around you. Get that through your thick skull."

This show can be quite cruel and brutal.

How do Ning's new arms work? Magic?

Yun said it was magnetism, not that it really explains anything, haha.

Same thing happens in games like Dynasty Warriors. The problem lies in the fact that Chinese > Japanese mangles the original pronunciation. The Chinese > English subtitled names is actually more accurate, but as a result it doesn't look right when you hear Japanese actors say them. Still, I prefer this methodology to using an awkward Chinese > Japanese > English abomination of a translation.

Totally agree on all counts. I'm really looking forward to seeing where this all goes, it's exceeded my expectations thus far.

A better pace episode. Damn the loli is too cute for the Empire they straight Mami-ed her...

This show also paved the eventual conflict between Zhao and the Sisters. Would he suffered the same conflict as Einstein when he discover his scientific breakthrough is since then use as a mass murder weapon?

And the young sister seems to have been fallen into the Dark side...

Mo Heng's plan to build individual body armor instead of machines is interesting.

Yin and Ning are confronted with the consequences of their actions. That was tough.

Zhao is on the best way to become like Suzaku Kururugi.
