Recently I have read an article on the internet which says that anime can make one thinks negatively, and holds the negative attitude towards everything. I don't agree with this article as anime makes my attitude and mindset become more mature through those life lessons that anime taught me. This makes me curious about how does anime affect your mindset and attitude? Is it a positive or negative effect? If you don't mind, please share your experiences below. Thank you.

Even though someone makes you a certain way... Doesn't mean everyone else reacts the same way... Just look at everyone here... Do we look like civilized happy people whom are mature?

NO...

uhhhhh i guess my imagination is a lot more "anime" now, and it definitely influences my art for sure

I'd say it's a positive effect because sometimes when I'm down, I remember cheesy anime moments or lessons and feel better :>

I'm curious about this article. Can you share it here?

I think anime has done many positive things in my life. Haikyuu!! got me into becoming a varsity player for my school. Free! made me value the small numberof friends I have. Boku no Hero Academia inspired me to work hard to pass my college entrance exams. Psycho-Pass and Death Note made me interested in law and philosophy. Food Wars made me interested in cooking. XD!

I always learn valuable life lessons from anime. Yes, some of us get too addicted to anime and develop bad habits, but it's not like anime hasn't done good to us either.

What is this article that claims animation from Japan in general can give people a negative mindset? Is it a formal study or someone's blog or something?

anime don't but forum do... it's make me lost my faith in humanity and make me more apathetic...

at least, i know anime is just imaginary with no serious intentions, but forum was real people opinion, and it's shit...

By certain degree it does affect my attitude.. by alot I guess.
We expect mostly it's about philosophy stuff and one personality.

Negative aspect likely caused be emotional burst or emotional shift.

Learning new things ever since I was a kid is always a positive output for me so Anime as an input may contributes to that. What's up with that article?

It reminds me how empty and meaningless my life is and encourages me to actually do things that matter instead of being a disgusting "fan".

Negative mindset specifically? Odd...
Oh, I get it. They must be watching only the weird hentai. The people that wrote that article should consider diversifying their tastes.

I'm not sure if it's because of anime, but I've noticed I'm more honest to people...maybe TOO honest.
Like, the other day, I told a girl that she's unattractive, and gave all these specific points, like I was a critic.
I keep being told that this sort of blank-point honesty hurts peoples' feelings, but I can't empathize, because I don't give a shit about whether people insult me or not.
I don't know if I'm an asshole, or just cold.

There's always been articles saying "Action movies make you dumb" and "Videogames make you Violent". Never been proven so why now.

Also, if it does affect me then... why negetive?

We always read about the bad things. Has anyone ever read how anime make you [your pick].

If you personally feel like it, then abandon it..

uh.. anyway.. its something i love doing and that never bores me, so naturally i feel whatever good sensations you get when you fap to the titties/ass/pantsu engage in something you really enjoy

are there really this many people who only watch anime as a means of escape from depression?

In some degree it can affect your attitude and mindset. In some psychological anime, they tend to relay philosophical beliefs which may not be correct yet since it aligns and justifies your pre existing belief, you tend to accept it as fact. "kill millions to save billions" is one great example.

It really helps me out. Whenever I am somewhat down and can't study or work properly. I see anime like shokugeku na kyojin or haikyuu (something similar to it and I really get inspired and this really helps me out...

It distracts me from wanting to kill myself so that's pretty neat.
I probably regret this post by now.
