Garrett means "Spear Bearer" or "Powerful with a Spear". I love that! I believe it's of Saxon/Germanic descent. And, ironically enough, I love using a yari (Japanese spear) in martial arts classes. Helps to explain why I'm so violent... ^_^

my name Alexander as most people know means "defending men" or "the defender of men" depending on what your source is...haha!
from what my mother told me...she said that my father has always wanted to give that name to his first son(me)...i kinda liked it, though the name's also kind of famous, considering there were 3 people with the same name as i am when i entered elementary...so sad T_T

I hate to break it to you, but... that's probably because you were born in 1988, back when the show Family Ties was ridiculously popular. Chances are you yourself were named after the main character, played by Michael J. Fox... or at least I would claim this if it weren't for my skepticism on where exactly you were born.

My name, however, is spelled in French, as an homage to the famed author Alexandre Dumas. That's right: I'm the inspiration for the motherfucking Gankutsuou Count of Monte Cristo. What the hell have you all done with your names?

My mother wanted me and my sister to have very distinct names; she was also one of those mother who likes to choose names with the same initials, and we got the "I". My name, Isadora, means something like Isis' gift or moon's gift, I can never remember which one. Well, it should be something related to ancient egyptian mythology =)

可伦 in simplified chinese

But I do know 不倫 is adultery in Japanese, so it probably means the opposite. >_>

My name is the feminine form of "Alexander", so it means "defender of mankind".
There isn't really any special significance to why I was named it, my parents just liked the name.

My Aunt randomly named me! DDD:

My name means--------->

Lizette --> English form of Lisete --> French pet form of Elizabeth -->From Ελισαβετ (Elisabet), the Greek form of the Hebrew name אֱלִישֶׁבַע ('Elisheva') meaning "my God is an oath" or perhaps "my God is abundance". The Hebrew form appears in the Old Testament where Elisheba is the wife of Aaron, while the Greek form appears in the New Testament where Elizabeth is the mother of John the Baptist.

The name was borne in the 12th century by Saint Elizabeth, a daughter of King Andrew II of Hungary who became a Franciscan nun and lived in poverty. It was also the name of a ruling queen of England and an empress of Russia. Famous modern bearers include the British queen Elizabeth II and actress Elizabeth Taylor.

Well, I got the same first name as my dad, Eduardo. My mom told me he always wanted his first born son to have his first name.

I always thought that my name had some connections to English royalty and, in fact, really does.

EDUARDO:
Spanish and Portuguese form of EDWARD

EDWARD:
Means "rich guard", derived from the Old English elements ead "rich, blessed" and weard "guard". Saint Edward the Confessor was the king of England shortly before the Norman Conquest. Because of his popularity this name remained in use after the conquest (most other Old English names were replaced by Norman ones), and was even the name of eight subsequent kings of England. Edward is also one of the few Old English names to be used throughout Europe.

So, I guess I was right, after all. =x

My parents claim that they combined their names (Nicasio and Cecilia) to make mine, but I know they're lying..

they just spelled Nicole wrong on the birth certificate :(

I'm Smasher because ... I like to smash stuff ><

Just kidding thou, when I was still extensivly playing FPS (wolfenstein, Battlefield 2, Quake 4 etc) I always used that name and it kind of stuck. Usually I use Smasher or Logax depending on what's available.

My real name is Panagiotis wich is a combination of the greek words 'παν' (pan) meaning 'All' and ‘αγιος (hagios) meaning 'Holy'. So you could say I'm 'All Holy' ... ><

KiraHawk: I've always been some form of Hawk on the good old t'interweb (DietHawk, MaedhrosHawk etc.); KiraHawk is the longest serving of my monikers. The Kira bit is from Kira Yamato of Gundam Seed fame.

meh, mine doesn't really have one. I usually go by the tag "Persephone" wherever I can because I love the story of Persephone and Hades the best when it comes to mythology..and she is the Goddess of the Underworld..but a lot of places that name was taken so I came up with other names like RainTornSkies, StarlitRiot, LiveInGray etc..so thats how i came to use this name here.
