According to the official website, the episode 8 of Dance in the Vampire Bund will be postponed by one week and "Special Edition" episode will be aired instead. The recap episode will have additional new scenes.
An announcement from AT-X channel revealed that the airing of the recap episode was not scheduled and AT-X has to cancel one of their programs due to the one week shift of the rest of the Vampire Bund episodes.

As usual, SHAFT is really bad in scheduling.

Had a feeling SHAFT would be having scheduling problems again. Well so far, at least I haven't heard anything about missing scenes in Vampire Bund.

The anime is so mediocre so they probably need more time to think how to end this mess of a show.

Ehh well SHAFT is a small studio with a limited amount of animators. Since they're doing two shows this season (three if you count the rest of Bakemonogatari), I guess they'll definitely have some constraints to scheduling.

Meh, this should be no surprise to anyone. In fact, I think it's reasonable for fans to expect at least one recap episode in any SHAFT show.

At least they do good work, in the end.

Anybody know if this ever happened to the anime, Ef? I picked up Ef after both seasons finished airing, so I wouldn't know.

I believe they are still going to air the original 12 episodes, this one was just a re-airing with some additional stuff in it to at least put something on the air while Shaft was working on Bakemonogatari 14. I believe everything was pushed back a week or something with AT-X and they're pushing back their scheduling or Shaft will just release whatever they can't fit into their timeslot on their website or something along those lines.
