Why is this so highly rated?

This series is total shit. It disgusts me from top to bottom (And I cant even begin to describe how disgusted I am with the last 5 chapters.)

I honestly felt like throwing up after reading it, in fact I nearly did. It makes zero sense why anyone would like it, ESPECIALLY after the last 5 chapters (That chucklehead innocent guy (Kanai) really pissed me off, a total complete moron.)

All I can say is, Mengo Yokoyari is hack. This series is fucking terrible, and everyone involved whether the manga or the anime should be ashamed of themselves.

And someone please explain to me what is considered 'good' about it?

because it explores a topic rarely touched upon in romance anime/manga. not everything needs to be rainbows and sunshine, Kuzu No Honkai is a welcomed addition to this genre.

Yeah the characters make dumb decisions but that's life. You don't think clearly when under the influence of love.

I'm wondering as well but I also just read all of this in 2 days

I liken it to feeling like a white soccer mom watching a soap opera. it's filled with awful twists and turns and awful stupid people and all the deceit involved, and moves along at a similar pace. there's no one to relate to, but I don't get this drama in my life so it's entertaining. it's pretty ridiculous overall. it went back and forth too but it's about a 6.5/10 for me. the latest few chapters are fairly unrealistic and are a real typical manga move

What exactly about it disgusts you so badly? I think it's a pretty good representation of how people with unrequited love seek out alternative attention to cope. Have you never been in love with someone who didn't love you back? It feels pretty shitty knowing no matter what you do they will never look your way.

The real question now is: Why is this rated so low? 7.38 is definitely underrated imo.
I mean, what DID the people, who say "this disgusted me / the characters were mean and disgusted me" expect from a manga that is called "Scum's Wish"? ^^"

It's so rare to read this kind of story. Although it kinda disgusted me... Well, I first came to know this manga since I was at the stage where I don't find the world scary. But rereading this was a great move!

actually it makes complete sense why people would like it, it’s a realistic portrayal of life and human relationships, very well written with some very human characters, not everything is cute and happy and goes the way people want it to, that’s not life, just because it doesn’t hold back doesn’t mean it’s bad. You also have Nisekoi as a favourite so you really can’t be talking about the quality of a series

A fair reminder that is your experience, and for that reason only I really can't believe myself to respond to this shitty subjective view. And please as much I want to see others opinion of this product, I really hate when people just trashing others people enjoyment just because they can't find one. next time keep it to yourself and act your self up, even if this is so shitty at least tells us why do you find it that way and not your for-God-sake-none-us-care stomach feelings. the only reason to see next chapter is a softcore porn that inferior to a doujin and some mild spice taste. The characters are boring, the settings pretty unrelatable and over the top, the art are average at best.

MAL score and most user-based rating system are all joke, Imagine trusting plebs and hivemind. Find users who have good sense and rating and use them as a reference. Check my guide to rate

Honestly yes. But I never had been hormone-driven anyway and I take incredibly long to fall in love and then want to sleep with them. But then I'm really them.
So I really never made any bad relationships experiences, besides the pain of understanding that you can love a person and still don't fit to them and like this.

First you have to define bad decisions anyway. I still won't say I made bad decisions about that, because that would including for me getting completely lost at a party and hooking up with a stranger, or getting down with a person I don't really like.

Tho I always asked myself why people couldn't wait before they someone better, before they get into a relationship or falling for an awful person, but I had to come to understand that other people are a lot more sex- and hormone-driven than I am and fall much easier for people.

I experienced in my friend circle in middle and high school and even uni a weird love circle and friends with benefits-stuff going on, including me in some ways too, so yeah something like Scum's Wish is pretty realistic.

In some anime I really miss that (intelligent) characters could make dumb decisions, because they are human and not free of making emotional-driven and irrational decisions.

Their decisions aren't even that dumb for some parts. They are just what they are. Wouldn't count some of them as good or bad, more on a neutral scale.
I saw that some people even critized that Hanabi and Mugi started what they got, or Hanabi and Ecchan, but at least it's much better / smarter IMO to have something like a friends with benefits relationship, even if it comes from their lonelines and heartbreak, than hooking up with a totally random person or anything. They just ended up using other people, which... don't tell me that doesn't happen ir too.
If it doesn't work, you could end it ...
