Eh, of course they had to go back to the previous situation in the end. Didn't expect Nabiki to be the one though.

Lol, there was something different about the direction in this episode. It was surreal and hilarious, kinda reminded me of Urusei Yatsura. For once Ranma and Akane were pretty adorable together.

Oh man, they went on a trip with so many people, it's like they were asking for chaos. I'm surprised they didn't invite Shampoo or Ukyo. I'm even more surprised that Mousse and Kuno tagged along. I don't remember any past episode where Ranma was with Kuno, Ryoga and Mousse altogether. At least not without all of them being in character.

In the end, it was Nabiki who "cured" Akane and Ranma from their "poison". I get that Nabiki probably didn't want her sister to get married due to some weird drug but she still didn't have to spoil the moment. Ig this could all be avoided if they were more honest with each other, a common theme in most of Rumiko Takahashi's works.

Urusei Yatsura also had a mushroom-themed episode. But it was much more of an acid trip than whatever this is.

One of the best episodes in a while, it was nice to get a change of scenery and also just a delight to see Ranma and Akane being so sweet on each other despite knowing it was because of the mushrooms. I also liked the odd combination of characters, the fact Mousse tagged along without Shampoo, plus Ryoga and Kuno, and that made the chaos later more fun when Ryoga and Kuno wanted to cure the main couple of their poison while Mousse wanted to oppose that, I was oddly rooting for Mousse for the first time in a while lol.

But at the end of the day, no matter how great it was seeing Ranma and Akane being open about their love, Nabiki was right here in curing them, I think if it’s gonna happen it needs to be natural. The ironic part tho is that they really do love each other, just their personalities don’t allow them to show it lol. Also like the post above mine mentioned, Urusei Yatsura did indeed have a mushroom episode which I really enjoyed, I thought we were about to watch everyone trip out like UY but this was thankfully still great without that happening.
