doesn't seem so hard to implement so support
but clicking back on the series every now and then shows you when the database updates with the finish date, no?
unless there's some other reason

We do get one notification when an anime starts to air, so I wouldn't mind to get one when its finished airing. I'd support this suggestion.

@Sato

This may be a bit ironic as I was also one of the people to suggest adding a notification when an anime in the PTW section started airing, but, what I'd like to ask is why?

How exactly will this be useful? If you're watching the anime and it's in your Watching list, it'll have a tag that says currently airing, which will then be removed when it's finished airing. Is that not enough of an indicator that it's finished airing?

I like to binge-watch or watch certain anime in one go so I think it'd be useful to know when an anime finishes, so I can get around to watchin it straight away.
I don't see how it'll be hard to implement this anyway.

Well some people don't watch anime while it's airing.

I find that this would be a great addition. I like to binge seasonal series shortly after they finish airing, so this would be a great way to keep track of what has and hasn't finished as a season comes to a close.

I agree with this, but also wanna add one more. Some anime get listed as Finished Airing, but later start airing again (Hantsu x Trash is one such example). Having a notification for that would be really helpful, as you could miss these series relatively easily. I didn't even realise Hantsu x Trash had three episodes until I recently moved some of my Currently Watching list to On Hold, as it had previously been listed as 1 episode only, which I had already watched and so, set as completed.

This could be useful for OVAs that don't get released weekly (like airing TV anime shows). For weekly stuffy I'm okay with watching it weekly. For OVA where the new episodes get released only every few months I usually keep them on PTW (and then forgetting about them until at some point I noticed they are finished and fully released).

Many people add an anime before it begins to air, and then, they just wait till the premiere of the last episode, so that it is able to watch the whole experience in one day.

I also support this.

This is a good suggestion, There are a lot of people who don't like watching airing shows because of cliffhangers etc.

I don't really like to watch on-air shows, I prefer completed. I tend to watch multiple episodes at times or maybe binge if I'm bored, so on-air doesn't really work out for that.

Definitely would be appreciated if added in.

Not only for seasonals but also for specials, OVAs, ONAs, long runners, and whatever else tends to lie on your list for extended periods of time without actually finishing. Knowing when the anime have finished would be a good addition. After all, we already do have one for when anime start airing so this would make it feel more complete.

Since we have one when a show starts airing, so why not have one when a show finished airing?

Think this was suggested before but I don't recall the result.

Either way, +1.

I don't watch on-air anime, only completed. So definitely would be a great asset.

"we" is arguable, some people don't follow seasons, just look for new animes at a random time, and even for people that follow them, there are series with an irregular number of episodes

+1! I don't usually watch shows while they're airing. I wouldn't mind receiving notifs when shows finish airing. This would be nice for binge watchers.
