Both RL and internet count, but this thread is more for real life interactions.

Have you ever seen a japanese person in the street and tried to talk to them? Maybe shouting "animeee" in front of them? Or has there ever been a Japanese acquaintance in a social meeting or something?

Yeah, met a uni student in my school.
He lived in Japan for 18 years and he decided to live here to pursue his studies because he said college schools in japan are fucking expensive
He spoke Filipino well so I asked him if he could speak Japanese so he replied to me in Japanese and all I understood from what he said was もちろん "mochiron" lol

In my city we actually have small a japanese community here. One of my friends was friends with some japanese people (one women and two guys) , but once I started to hanging out with them more too I realized that they had awful personalities and were really arrogant and close minded generally. After that I avoided them and never spoke to them again, it was my first and hopefully last encounter with any japanese people, I'm not saying all of them are like that but it really did leave a bitter aftertaste so until I come across are at least decent japanese person I will be prejudiced for now towards them.

I spoke to a few groups of girls that came into the store I worked at. I hardly knew any Japanese so I sure as hell wasn't going to embarrass myself by saying "Arigato" or some shit after they paid.

there was an exchange student from Japan that came to my middle school, but that was before i was interested in anime and japanese culture. being middle school kids, everyone was interested and would always crowd around the exchange student so i never spoke to her. oddly enough i still have her on facebook.

I've spoken to at least three Japanese people on the internet in English. Luckily there English was pretty decent, lol None IRL. Most of the Asians in my state are Vietnamese, Korean and Cambodian.

yep

I'd tell him "ore wa (my name)"

but then he stopped me, saying that ore-wa is for gangsters, and I should say watashi wa or boku wa instead

While I was abroad, I met some Japanese persons with whom I travelled a bit. In both case, I was originally supposed to go visit some place with someone but then ended up alone until meeting the person.
At first, it was a Japanese girl with whom I visited Auschwitz and we exchanged informations regarding histories from both our countries, it was really interesting.

The second meeting was in a train, I met a Japanese guy : He's probably the cutest guy I ever got to meet, as he had an adorable behaviour, was so nice and we have many common interests so the time together was great. We kept in touch a bit, but he seems very busy, sadly.

Other than that, my former flatmate is half-Japanese :)
Also, I got some Japanese students before. And probably met other Japanese without knowing xD

okay so this one time i saw a japanese boy walking down the street and he looked like a kpop idol 😍 so i called out to him 'HEY KAWAII NIPPONJIN' and he turned around and started blusing realy hard so i went up to him and started hugging him like my sasuke dakimakura (body pillow for gaijinsthat dont know) and he tightented up i think he was nervous and he looked uncomfrtable and said stuff like 'dont touch me' but in know that he was just being a tsundere because i do that sometimes too lol but then he said he wasnt even japanese!!! then i got mad andtold him that he shouldnt have uso'd and i felt betrayed because he lied about being japanese! so i went back to my house and cried into my sasuke daki until i remembered that anime boys are better than real boys

and thats how i met my first nipponijn ^___^

I was in kindergarden the first time I spoke to "a Japanese person" (classmate). Was using French back then since it was a French school.

As for speaking Japanese to a Japanese person, it started about 8 years ago when I first started learning the language and joined various language exchange events. Also spent 5 years living/studying/working in Japan so yeah, where it was daily stuff. Right now I am very far from Japan but still deal with Japanese customers on a daily basis, and still keep in touch with friends (and ex) over LINE.

tldr: Yes. Many.

My school also has a sister school in Japan so a group of Japanese students come in July every year for a couple weeks. I hosted one this year :3

I knew a couple Japanese girls in high school, and we had mutual friends, so I interacted with them a little. Nothing out of the ordinary. I just looked them up on Facebook, and it looks like one of them is back in Japan and the other still lives here.

I mean, my Japanese teacher back in highschool... If that counts.
Oh, I also went to this Japanese culture festival, and I went around with my friends and called actual Japanese people "Otaku!" to see what happened (they mostly just looked at us funny).
Be thankful for the wisdom granted to you.

Had a super cute Japanese girl foreign exchange student that I had a big crush on.

She always had fancy gadgets and pens, and some people were swayed by it saying "Japan is ahead of us in everyway"

She was like the nicest and sweetest girl ever, and she was really smart.

She was open to all races as well, no racism.

She did cute things sometimes like the "kawaii" Japanese girl culture.

Nobody gave a shit about her, except for a few female friends of hers, and people made fun of me for sitting next to her, and a lot of people think she's ugly. I have no clue why? :/

Had a huge crush on her, and still kind of do.

She was so innocent.

I have this cosplayer friend who looks like a hot JAV model. She's half Japanese and she knows at least some Japanese phrases. I guess that it's because she's obsessed with anime as well.

Got close with her, drifted away at times. Still having some perverted moments and she comically tries to beat me up because of it. I enjoy impersonating her silly voice.
