You put it somewhere, and cherish it. What are you expecting? That your waifu will finally be real? If you're not into collecting stuff, then don't.

I like staring at the characters I like, that's all. And it's fun to collect merch of anime I like, too.

I only have the small blind box figures. And I keep those on my bookshelf in front of my manga. But other than that I don't do anything else with them :o theyre nice to look at but kind more of a space holder.

Same as my CD's, place them and cherish them somewhere visible. I pretty much listen to music only on computer/phone with headphones, so they're as "useless" as figurines. When you collect something, it's just fun to sometimes check out your collection and smile.

I put mine in a cabinet, which was custom built for me.

It's an expensive hobby, and I don't buy figures as often as I used to, but I have no regrets.

Same reason someone would want posters and other decorations, right?
Personally, I have figures because I like to decorate my living space with things I enjoy.
I have some model kits of mecha too and those, obviously, have the whole appeal of building them as well.

I don't buy figurines I'd much rather spend that money on something more useful such as a fleshlight or a body pillow

But if I had any then I would probably do with them the same thing I do with all of my cd's and others thing which I bought to support the creators but I never use which is to stare at them for a while, smile, tgink about how cool it is to have one and then put in the box or on the shelf and leave it there for the rest of eternity

Im not really into figures myself and find it kind of a quirky hobby. But when you guys say you cherish them i cant help but think of a sim in Sims 4 whose standing in front of a motionless object and is enjoying himself with excessive body language.

Well, I collected them some years back. Sold all but two, which are now on my computer table looking at me. Gotta say it was a fun hobby, though I certainly wouldn't want to show them to anyone when I'm 30 =).
But oh god that sims4 image of myself....

I would love to have nendoroids but I know at the end of the day they will end accumulating dust. I mean yeah, I will look at them to Time and time and think "how cool" but not sure if that's worth the money... At least for me it doesn't ^^u

Well Figures seems to look cool and if you can place them on places where they are up for admiration then I guess anyone would be amazed entering your home :3

But I still think the way people think of anime characters as waifu/husbando's is just stupid and weird especially with people having naked body pillows of their favorite characters :3
I guess having anime crushes is cool because it's normal but people doing erotic and lewd things while thinking about 2D girls, tbh I don't get it? OwO

If you lived in the 2D Anime world go ahead with your lusts but...

It's a collection hobby. Just like you would do with anime/manga if you even buy those kind of otaku things.
Just like some people collect games, stamps, postcards, pokemon cards, plants, guns, tools, weapons, etc. - I collect animu figures.
Pretty much whatever you can collect of different variety and have a lot of it, is what a collector is, and you then start to feel proud and happy that you own those things, regardless that others think it's a waste of money or you spend a lot of money to get "that one item" - you still feel like it's important and it gives you a good feeling to display all those "Collector's" items.

I just really love collecting stuff, I guess my figures are part of my home decoration...but I don't really like those who put them all together...it kind of look like a store ? Plus I love nendoroid, they look so cute . And it's not because I buy a figure that I think I'm closer to my husbando/waifu (I even have some figures of characters I'm not crazy about, but the figure was pretty...)...

Look at them on my shelf once in a while, and think back to how surprised I was to actually find them being sold at a place so close to home.

They're not high-end or anything, just $30 prize figures. But damn if I wasn't happy as all hell to see them.

They're just to look at and decorate your room a bit. They're like any other poster/decoration, to look at. I bought one at an anime convention because it was cheap and because it's black hanekawa :3

That's the nature of collecting. Though, I've kinda wanted to buy a ton of figmas and make an epic crossover battle diorama... or subject them to some creepy woody antics. I love collecting figures because I've always been fascinated with 3D, sculpting, and arranging things for display. It's more dynamic than wall scrolls.

Oh sheet
I thought I was the only one

But you buy them, take them out if the box (or don't), and just admire.

It's like buying a painting

They're really only for looking at, so if you want the figure, why not buy it?

Like what other people have said, just use them for decoration. Having an empty plain room, makes it lifeless and boring to be in. I got a couple of anime figures but have far more dragon figures which I have on shelves in my room. Its just nice to have nice things that you enjoy having.

It basically collects dust in a corner. Maybe, I just like the idea of buying figures. After some time, I usually regret it but I seem to end up buying one again for some reason. It's a vicious cycle.
