| Tsubasa is basically helpless without Hikaru now, which is pretty sad. If Hikaru is basically Tsubasa with a different outlook, and the whole creation of new memories things mentioned previously, I can't help but think that Tsubasa's and Hikaru's relationship shouldn't last forever. Not sure what a 'happy ending' would be in this case. |
| Way too late in the series it finally hits on an interesting dynamic between the two leads. It's believable that the wimpy kid would respond to the appearance of copy of herself that's more confident by just tagging along with her and depending on her to manage every social interaction. It's a bad habit for Tsubasa to develop and creates an interesting conflict where Hikaru wants to stay with Tsubasa but doing so is making her even weaker. But it's too late to do this now. About eight episodes of the two simply acting like sisters and having Tsubasa improve on her shyness means it can't turn the story around the other way at this late stage. |
