| On some level, I was quite relieved that Tsubasa was able to say what she said to Hikaru. Looking at it cynically, Hikaru is basically a parasite, not only stealing memories but also potentially, Tsubasa's future, she basically stole her father too. Whether Tsubasa would have the friends she has, and Sho, without Hikaru's help, is ambiguous. The story has been sweet, but I'm glad they kind of brought attention to this slightly unnerving undercurrent. |

But also showing the impact of the tragic event on Tsubasa, what it meant character wise for her as well, the internal differences and how they sorted it out, even though then it goes back to be the way it was before their little discussion, kinda underplaying this parasite aspect that was mentioned. Aside from that we even had the two officers not only respecting the girls but also dealing with one of the aliens on their own for once, it was refreshing in a by now somewhat repetitive formula. Everything with the father was good too. Yep, this is how you do drama. |
| The one thing that worries me is how they end that part with Tsubasa saying "I'll go if you go, Hikaru", which I translate as moving your dependence from Sho to Hikaru, which is not healthy, because although Hikaru has been a great influence on Tsubasa, she's gonna have to leave and basically die, and that feels like it's going to wreck Tsubasa even more. And the fact that this show has me worried for it's characters to that extent is admirable IMO. |
