Cause I mean,

Maki and Nico make such a cute couple butt,\

They're under 18, or atleast Maki is.

I live in the States.

This IS an important question to discuss cause a lot of us read doujinshi with characters around the same age

this thread is gonna turn out to be a beautiful little flamewar.

To answer your question, it depends if it's ero-content and it depends on what state you live in.

It's fiction. So no.

Still is controversial, so don't share it if you can't explain it/ the others can't take it lightly.

But does the heart have the right perspective?

FFS I get the feeling people are making 'Is it wrong..." threads just to bait and troll now. Can MAL just auto-delete any AD topic that starts with those words?! No? F!@#!

If it's a pure and beautiful relationship like this, it doesn't matter. Nico x Maki is the one true OTP

Age has nothing to do with it. It's wrong because they're both girls. Homosexuality is a sin.

Rape. Pedophilia. Bestiality. Masturbation (lel).

I do agree with you, though. Who cares about ethics and law nowadays anyway?

Yes, it is indeed. Non-consensual sex is not a sin though, as long as it's between an Adam and an Eve.

Illegal: no. Not in the United States.

I'm assuming the "under 18" means there's sexual content or at least nudity, so you're worried it might be classified as child pornography.

The Supreme Court has been very clear about this; unless real children were involved, it's not kiddy porn, and therefore not illegal. Local obscenity laws can still apply in rare cases, but (1) that's really hard to convict on and no prosecutor in the country is going to go after someone for reading doujinshi and (2) I believe that only applies if you're creating or at least distributing.*

*I could be wrong on this.

As for whether it's wrong, that's not for anyone to decide but you.

Seriously, there's no point to such discussion. People can like/do whatever they want. Like with rape: You do the crime, you do the time. And if you avoid doing time, then you're able to do another crime... and eventually, do the time. End of story.

I listened to an opinion that while you keep it to yourself, you aren't really harming anyone. Is when you externalize it that you get in trouble.

So if you like that kind of thing and can get away with not allowing people that doesn't share your likings to see that you like this kind of stuff, it shouldn't matter.

A person's "time" is indeed going to heal the emotional and physical scars of the victim.

Absolutely. Reading doujins about anything older than middle school is morally wrong and should be illegal if it isn't already.
I probably regret this post by now.

IIRC in USA it's considered (by official medicine) pedo if they're under 14. I believe, your high-schoolers are 16 and older, right? Marriage age and the age of consent in most proper countries are between 14 and 16. So no need to feel guilty.

I don't think anyone will hound you for that. It's fiction.

Plus I'm pretty sure there is (real life) teen porn nowadays so... some teen fiction isn't really a big deal.

A quick good search kinda proved this wrong. A man in Virginia and a man in Iowa were both charged with child porn charges that came from having lolicon material on their computers. From the articles, it seems like they had a stash downloaded or something, so I'm not sure if that had anything to do with why they were charged or anything.

In the same article it talked about a guy being charged in Canada at the border when he tried to bring manga across the border (I guess the characters looked underage) but the charges were eventually dropped.

In the UK and Australia, similar cases as the ones in the US have been done. (Again, guys with a huge stash of images and stuff stored on their computers).

Chances are the average reader won't get caught or charged with anything, there's so many people that do it so it would be hard to do. Just don't go stock piling images of underage characters and you should be good.
