| Maaaaan, this manga is great so far. I went in expecting at least something of quality (I really enjoyed Planetes after all), but holy shit did I underestimate how good it would get, and how quickly at that. |

| A true turning point in the story. I believe things are going to start getting "real" from here on out. Thors was an excellent character--a beacon for ideal and true masculinity. An interesting aspect I took away was that Thors' death also affected Askeladd in a profound way. It seems like Askeladd is starting to question his own meaning of what a strong man is, after seeing how willingly Thors sacrificed himself for those he cared for, and that Thors did not kill any of his own men despite his godly strength. That Thors found something to die for, something greater than himself. Might be in part as to why he chose to keep Thorfinn alive. As a man, Askeladd respected what Thors did so much that he feels an obligation to at least honor his sacrifice by not disposing of his son. |
