eh that's true but it still has a very steep learning curve. honestly i'm in the minority here but i liked brawl the best. i like how defense-based the meta-game is.

That's the exact reason why I disliked Brawl. I prefer playing aggressively, but in Brawl, playing aggressively got you punished. But in Melee, you have to play aggressively (except with characters like Samus, Link, Zelda etc.) to win. I do still play Brawl from time to time, and I main Falco in it.

My friend plays it competitively. I prefer smash 4 tho honestly. Biggest roster and most balanced. You can play aggressive or defensive And win

Well considering the characters people use is so limited I enjoy Smash 4 a lot more because of the much larger cast.

I enjoy fighting games, but I tend to suck at them.

I prefer playing Project M because of the more diverse cast and the fun modes like turbo and all-star. Melee is however my favorite "official" smash game.

I don't play anymore. I just watch professional players play. I do play Smash 4, but I don't play it on a competitive basis. I don't have the drive or time to play competitively anymore.

Not really. In a lot of areas, Falco is actually the most played character. Fox is too hard for people to learn.

The same could be said about Sheik in Smash 4, but just like with Fox in Melee, it just isn't true.

Falco and Captain Falcon are definitely the most commonly used characters (Falcon typically found more at the lower level of play and Falco pretty much evenly spread throughout the spectrum)

Also RIP Sheik being #1 in the newest Sm4sh patch

Wow, Melee... That's a name I haven't heard in a while. Why play with a stupid C-Stick when you can use superior motion controls or see your health bar on a giant tablet? SSB64>SSB4>Melee>Brawl

Oh yeah, I heard about Sheik getting nerfed. Isn't like Bayonetta the best character now? I don't really follow the Smash 4 scene so I don't really know about this stuff.

I always liked playing as Ice Climbers, so I absolutely LOVED this match.

I don't play seriously competitively though, simply can't be bothered putting in the practice needed to reach their level.
Now you're wondering if there's white text in any of my other posts.

Over there, I'm everywhere. I know that.

If you have a friend to play with, it's always worth the time. Melee is fun, even if you're not serious about getting better.

Learning Melee has come pretty natural to me. Sure, I've spent plenty of hours grinding tech skill, but... okay yeah the learning curve is pretty steep but it's not like you have to sell your soul to the game. (unless you want to be a top player)

This is a super hype set that just happened at SN4

The two most technical spacies go nuts on each other. Hax played surprisingly well, I expected him to be a lot more rusty. Also as if the return of Hax F. money isn't hype enough... PogChamp

A few months, but that was a while ago. Stopped playing for a year and then Smash 4 came out and I'm playing that competitively. Currently the best Palutena player in my region (and possibly top10 in that region as well.)

I played quite a bit of Melee back in the days. I had a blast with it. Fantastic game really. Lots of nights with friends playing hours and hours.
I didn't really have any trouble moving to Brawl and now to Smash 4. Love them all tbh

Not competitively, but it's fun to kick a friend's ass in it once in a while.

Also, Samus is my go-to combatant.

I thought so, that sucks. I could never switch to Smash 4. If I couldn't play Melee it would be over for me. Smash 4 I can't really play for more than 10 minutes before I get bored, but that's just my opinion.

My gamecube controllers are fucked up the ass so the nubs on both controllers are spiky now, so it hurts to play lol. I need to invest in new controllers, but I have higher priorities than that. I main'd Marth, and my brother would play Captain Falcon so I have fond memories of that, wouldn't say competitive as in tech but I was pretty good at it against friends. But now I'm too rusty to even bother to try it again.

I play Smash 4 often though and main Yoshi/Donkey Kong, I like the mechanics of that one a lot more now, so I'm probably part of the problem.

I suppose my standards for "good" are really high. All of them can beat all players that aren't top level but the only falco you see doing well vs top players is westballz is what I meant, Mango is okay from time to time but his fox is way better. PPMD can still be great but I personally think he does better with marth(vs top players)

Westballz consistency against top players is pretty shaky, even against non top players. (he just got 33rd at pound... 33RD!!) Mango's Falco is still the best of all, despite him playing Fox more often this year. Even if you think Westballz Falco is the best, (it really is in terms of peak, but not consistency) he still tends to struggle against other top players, though not to say he can't beat them either. Mango is a god for a reason, if he couldn't hold his own Falco against top players, he wouldn't be his main. Anyway, saying that PPMD or Mango's Falco can't do well against top players is just flat out misinformed, you gotta watch some more sets.

Mango > Wes > PPMD > Axe
