Kaoru Wada, Keigo Hoashi, and Joe Hisaishi. I'm a fan of melancholic melodies, what can I say?

And mainly because they're the only composers I know.

Hiroyuki Sawano (Attack on Titan, Kill la Kill, Guilty Crown) makes incredible music, but most of the tracks sound too simmiliar

Toshio Masuda (Naruto, Mushishi) -relaxing and mysterious tracks, usually with traditional Japanese intruments. In Naruto he made a lot of power metal songs too ;)

Shiro Sagisu (EVA, Bleach) incridible variety of genres

Hiroyuki Sawano and Yuki Kajiura both do a bunch of great music but their stuff sounds really similar, so my favorite is probably Taku Iwasaki.
EDIT: lol totally forgot about Yoko Kanno. Definitely my favorite.

Yoko Kanno. Her work on Zankyou no terror was fantastic to say the least.
5 main aspects I base my ratings on:
1. Did DramaEnthusiast make a thread about it?
2. Is it better than Breaking Bad?
3. Did MellowJello recommend the shit out of it?
4. Has it caused a (very entertaining) shitstorm on MAL?
5. Is it actually good?

Scratch the fifth point, it's not very relevant...

Kentaro Haneda - a master composer best known for his work on the original MACROSS show (and other less-known shows), he was a master of piano themes and orchestras to make some truly awesome music (he's rather obscure now, but if you listen to some of his scores you'll be impressed).

Off the top of my head Hisaishi and Jun Maeda. I honestly don't think Maeda is that good when he's creating a story but his tracks are definitely something worth listening to.
Memories may fade, but that doesn't mean there isn't any point in making them.

These are not anime composers. In addition, the name brand of a classical composer as well as the undeniable greatness of their work is not a substitute for good anime composition. There are plenty of Beethoven's pieces that have been brutalized and used in the worst of ways.

I am aware that people likely post these for the sake of laughs and sarcasm, but there are many great anime composers who produce greater tracks of greater application than any of those composers.

Sawano Hiroyuki - He makes good OSTs for battle shows and can create epic songs from different artists (Aimer, Mika Kobayashi, etc.)

Kajiura Yuki - She's good with melodies and haunting OSTs. I still think her best work so far was Pandora Hearts. She also created one of the best singing groups there is (Kalafina)

Shinji Hosoe (some tracks in No Game No Life, but his style stands out best in Fate/Extra) - From the few tracks he provided for NGNL, you can tell this man knows how to set the mood. Also, his work in Fate/Extra is amazing, nuff said.

Masato Kouda (Arpeggio) - He knows how to make a person excited. His tracks in Arpeggio were mind blowing-ly awesome and they get even better in the movies.

Yoko Kanno (Ghost in the Shell) - Pretty self explanatory. Kanno does amazing work with her tracks in anything she works on.

Yuki Kajiura (Kara no Kyoukai) - OP pls

Edit: Abo Takeshi (Steins;Gate) - Can't believe I almost forgot this man. If you want tracks that bring out the best in psychological anime, this is the go-to person for it. I hope they use his Steins;Gate 0 tracks for the upcoming anime.

Perhaps on their own, but it is preposterous to suggest that placing Wagner or Scriabin to substitute the music for Neon Genesis Evangelion would result in anything but a horrid mismatch of sound and visuals. That is simply undeniable.

Yuki Kajiura, for her atmospheric orchestral music and for heading Kalafina.
Yoko Kanno, for absolutely everything she works on (even if the anime themselves are bad, her music never disappoints)
Kawai Kenji, for the wide variety of music he includes in his work.

They are the only anime music composers whose music I occasionally listen to while relaxing/reading.

I really enjoy some of Shinkichi Mitsumune's works, even despite the fact that I'm not all that into some of the anime that he worked on.

I feel like guys like Hideyuki Fukasawa also deserve more credit. Sure, his most recent work on Unlimited blade works was a mixed bag (just like the show itself) but I thought that some of his other projects such as Mahoyo was fantastic.
