Funny and great episode this week. Poor Yoki trying to steal from Armstrong family XD That's the last place I would ever want to go to.

I wanted to see Scar's reaction when he saw Miles, his own race, as a soldier but oh well..

So far things are getting exciting how the scar group, the north soldiers, Winry and the Elric brothers are, teaming? up. I hope Scar doesn't accidentally blow Winry up o.o Were they even teamed up? Or was Scar actually holding Winry as a hostage? Idk, but it seemed all made up to me.

Can't wait for next week :)

Yes it's a pity they cut this scene. At least they brought in Armstrong's kindness :)

And Yoki's background... I completely forgot he had one xD

Ed's reaction to his lighter automail was priceless.
(Winry's have become even bigger when she faced scar Oo)

Did they get those scenes of yoki from the old fullmetal alchemist cause I dont remmber seeing them in this version.

And it feels like the series is slowing in pace compared to the first months it was aired.

I still felt the transtion of going from hilarity to melancholy is a bit of a problem in this anime.

The fight scenes were funny but it jumped so fast into the winary scar moment that I was in limbo for those few seconds.

This was great as expected, I liked how they captured the way Ed and Al suddenly became way more aggressive when Winry showed up at the scene.

They didn't omit the slapstick scenes like in the last episodes, so this one was really funny. Also Scar is turning soft.

I loved Ed in the episode. His spazzy dance for the lighter automail was particularly epic.

Yoki's silent film style flashback was epic. All we got a glimpse at the other Armstrong sister xD

I've never been entirely sure if Amue and Strongine are cannon Armstrong sisters.

It was great to see this animated:D May's delusions are as funny as ever.

Yoki scenes were not from the first series, it's a bit different there (both art- and plotwise).

Things will only get more and more epic from this point so brace yourself:D.

Hmm, Winry chan would NEVER ally herself with Scar. NEVER...
So if she did, it would suck BIG TIME.
The Elric brothers could eventually, just because of the Rentanjutsu, but Winry chan... never.
Let's hope they were stupid enough to let Scar take Winry chan as hostage, but since Ed lied to Kimblee in such a way, it seemed like it was all set up.
Let's hope...

Great episode. Best for a while I reckon.

Are they gonna do Winry giving Ed her earrings? I thought they had a done that in the manga before this point....oh well. I just wanted that in there. SPOILER ALERT just in case.

Didn't like this ep... Too much slapstick for my taste, and I'm really starting to miss Roy and his crew - there's a serious lack of them in this arc. Also agree with the poster who doesn't want to believe in Winry agreeing to ally herself with Scar - but, sadly, it's clear that's the way story goes: Scar taking her hostage seems to be part of Elrics' plan.
BTW, am I the only one who finds Mei annoying?

and here i was, thinking that FMA forgot something other than the Gluttony/Envy vs. Ling/LanFan/Old man(forgot his name) way back when Lust was killed. turns out that the Yoki part in the manga was made into a flashback. it was done very well. more comedy effects that does not ruin the overall mood of the episode.

armstrong's little sister was shown...from the first FMA ahaha...the first two Yoki saw must be the mother and father idk ahaha...

nice episode too :D

Agreed, plus it's such a boring story and nothing major really happens anyway.

Plenty of laugh out loud moments in this episode, especially during the encounter with May, two-timer Al and skanky Winry xD

Those two chimera guys was way fugly, can't they put some more effort into creating monstrosities that at least look a bit evil and twisted.
Though if you consider the art style as a whole I guess it is to be expected, it's very plain at times.

True, it was done very well, but not like they did in the manga.
In the manga, Yokis story is at the beginning in volume 1, right after Lior. I guess they rushed through the beginning so much that they just left it out and squeezed it in now.

Too much slaptick? They even cuttet out some. The humor comes right from the manga, not something they added into the anime just because they felt like it.
Arakawa did it better in the manga than it's done in the anime, but it's still okay. FMA is'n an emo-series and Ed isn't depressive at all, that's just the way he is: hotheadded, impulsive, overreacting. Not all the time, but it's part of his character.

And about Roy & his crew: The main characters are Edward and Alphonse, so of course other characters will have to step back for them at some points. Roy & crew are very important, but it's also important for the whole picture that they've split up for now.
Roy will be back with more screentime, don't worry... *sign*

i dont know if BONES planned this or just squeezed it in but Yoki's story was done well a flashback instead of a whole episode. i thought they left it out. cant say the same for Envy/Gluttony vs Ling and followers and some details of Ishbal past.

next ep is scar and winry escape but i guess its not yet

I actually dont mind they reduce the amount of comic relief. After all, if u think about it the story is way to serious to have comic relief in every corner so in that aspect I like the anime more than the manga, I actually wouldnt mind them limiting slapstick etc. even more.

Loved the episode! The silent movie montage of Yoki's backstory was great, capped by Ed thoroughly dismissing it after Yoki had built it up to "Gone with the Wind"-like proportions. Poor Riza...anyone else would probably have completely lost their marbles by then. That encounter with Pride was harrowing, to say the least. She's holding it together well, all things considered. Really happy to see Hayate is there for her :) Also liked the chat between Olivier and Buccaneer. It's going to be a long wait to the next episode.

Wow, you must be really desperate if you want to try to steal something from the Armstrongs xD Loved the picture at the end with the 'see you next time' (or whatever it says...)

And yay! I've been waiting for the Winry hostage scene. Was pretty cool in the manga.

Good episode again, too bad they weren't any conversation between the two Ishibalians. Scar taking Winry as an excuse for Kimblee is was well done.

Bad episode lined with some funny comedy. Yoki must be a pretty damn important person to get such a terrible, necessary feeling flashback in the middle of nowhere like that. And that most of it looked like it was ripped straight from the first show was a bit of a mess to me.

Scar capturing Winry seems like a bit of a fake out to me. I'm not sure what Scar gains by taking Winry, but I know what Ed and Al gain.

Overall, a pretty lame episode even considering a lot of the plot movement.

I'm not usually bothered by the lame comedy, but as it took up just about half the episode I started to get annoyed. Yoki's flashback was also too long even though I did like seeing the other Armstrong sisters lol. Well I never really cared for this part of the series anyway so I just look forward to getting past it. At least the fight was wonderfully animated.

fine ep ^ ^

guess it was just like a build-up episode for later eps.

4/5

and Winry being taken by Scar must've been part of Elric Brothers' plan xP

Till next ep~

When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.
