I don't usually post or comment but I couldn't help but be surprised by this show. Even with shows like fate/stay, Akame ga kill, and Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu airing right now the first episode really grabbed my attention.

The second one hooked me completely with its lightearted (?) take on the dark fantasy genre. Production values and characters are both great so far, I hope this show gets the attention it deserves.

*EDIT: I suppose Psycho-Pass 2 deserves mention as well

Akame ga Kill is nowhere near the best of the season in my opinion. I wouldn't even count it since it started last season.

Fate/Stay Night is still my favorite for the Fall season, though. Garo is great, Kiseijuu, and this. Log Horizon as well. Nanatsu no Taizai is good and I actually really like Madan no Ou to Vanadis so far.

To me this season is fantastic so, choosing anime of the season... is a bit hard. (Though Stay Night is the easiest choice and will probably stay that way.)

I didn't think Ufotable would ever have to worry about being usurped as the kinds of detail and animation for regular TV productions, but this has me thinking that they need to watch out. Sure, UBW TV has better sound design and the animation is smoother when it gets going - but the sheer amount of movement in the characters and the directorial prowess possessed by the staff working on Shingeki no Bahamut: Genesis simply cannot be ignored.

I never thought that I'd ever enjoy anything based off a card game, but after two episodes, it's almost like Bahamut has demanded that I take it seriously - and damn, has it got my attention now!

I love the life in these characters, the way they react to their situations, how they're never pushed into roles and kept in them, how the director knows how to use motion and angles to explain emotion in a scene, how the music flows from one moment to the next. Like Kill la Kill, this show exudes love for the project - MAPPA was given carte-blanche to do what they wanted with this project, and it's almost like they're making their dream anime.

I sincerely hope that things continue as they have in these episodes, and we keep seeing more great character moments and storytelling. If it can keep this up until the end - I'll have to find room in my favorites for one more.

So excited for episode 3.

well i agree .. ive seen everything this season ... yes everything , even the lame ones ...
- and so far : Shingeki no Bahamut: Genesis , is the one i m the more excited to see ...
i m excited to hear the music , to see the badass scenes , and see what this buffon/scoundrel mugen/spike/ussop bounty hunter will do next episode .... he is actually more fun that i expected ... hard to say if the plot and everything will follow but if we judge the 2 first episode - it is solid.

it is sad , not many people know about it , in fact i heard it might be a commercial failure ?? it seems its not gettin enough attention ...
like even average people know about lame shows like world trigger , but dont know of Shingeki no Bahamut: Genesis .... how sad ...

i also like other shows , fate stay night might be close , but it is yet again the same story / or / almost ... so i m a little less excited ( still great ) ... and ofcourse , nanatsu is good tho it will grow to be awesome (since its probably gonna be mainstream soon enough - if u read the manga u know what i mean - nanatsu is a great shonen )

Between this and build fighters so far. UBW is kinda sleep inducing outside of the fights. Also guys mappa has another show named Garo that's also airing, it's not as good as this imo but it's still decent.

Well Mushishi S2 Pt 2 will be AOTS (if we're counting 2nd parts of cours).

Otherwise yes, this has a shitload of potential and the first two episodes have been very strong with some jaw dropping moments and some stuff never really done in anime before (the dancing scene in episode 2....beautiful).
Parasyte is also high up there, and so is F/SN

Akame ga Kill is fucking awful and isn't even from this season.

Also, Bahamut is pretty great, and is definitely competition for AOTS, along with Parasyte and Mushishi Zoku-shou 2. At the moment, though, only time will tell.

I think that if F/SN wasn't airing I think Bahamut would be the AOTS. But now F/SN will take the first place.

Though I think Bahamut is still nr 1.

If Fate S/N UBW doesn't count this season, then I would probably count this as one of the best along Psycho Pass 2 and Parasyte. Too bad, as usual, the overall MALrating is 7.89 Really, people of MAL? This anime deserves to be around 8.5

I guess the popularity isn't that good.

It might be one of better shows this season but definitely not the best. Don't know why, but I'm not really motivated to watch it. It's entertaining but not to the level I would devote myself to it. There are more than 10 anime this season better than this anime imo
So definitely no

Definitely not AOTS. Fate/stay night UBW with hype and animation alone already has that spot and is basically guaranteed the number 1 spot with strong source material. Best chance is that Bahamut will be runner up, but it has some strong contenders like Psycho Pass 2 and Log Horizon 2. I find the characters very fun in this anime, but I think I would put my vote in for Psycho Pass over this just because it deals with more mature and philosophical themes instead of a hack/slash adventure anime.

Not of that really means anything as far as quality to shows are concerned. It doesn't changed the fact that I enjoyed Bahamaut's 2 episodes more than I did of UBW's. This coming from some one who was looking forward to the later more than anything else this season.

The Fate VN is hardly universal loved and people are going to comparing their adaptions not their sources. And for that matter despite UBW having aired a total 120 minutes (3 episodes) itself aren't anymore in depth for it. In contrast it only took 40 minutes (2 episodes) to establish the same if not more amount of characterization and world building. And it did while needing to resort much to talking heads, and instead let the characters mannerisms, and dynamics speak for themselves. I still enjoy UBW, but the direction and presentation in Bahamut is certainly better despite the former's superior animation.

Not sure what this supposed to mean. Philosophy itself is mature subject matter so you can't be more mature than itself. Whether Bahamut will become the AOTS well depend entire on how well written it's characters are and how fully realized its concepts are in these 13 episodes. It's the same for any show airing this season really. Most importantly, if it can continue to keep me engaged as much as the first 2 episodes have through out its run then it well be my favorite no question.

Please don't include Mushishi. We are not talking about snore fest of the year. lol and people should also stop mentioning seven deadly sins as a possible Aots. No f***ing way. This series that has a lot of generic and cliche in it, it should not be considered.

Shingeki no Bahamut: Genesis isn't even rated 8+ on mal while seven deadly sins does, that just proof people love generic series more. smh.

Are you one of those people who watches the first 3 episodes of any anime - which is primarily for preparing the stage and introducing characters -
then drops it? UBW is far from boring and i really hope you didnt read the VN(otherwise you have no excuse for being ignorant)

Just because it's "preparing the stage and introducing the characters" it doesn't have to be boring. It doesn't show us, it tells us the exposition in a long ass dialogue speech. Take Shingeki for example, how has it introduced the characters and established the setting, definitely not like UBW that's for sure.
Shingeki first 3 episodes shit all over Fate's first 5.

Shingeki no Kyojin is nothing more than a typical shounen+Gore+High production values...It requires no introduction whatsoever because nothing changed after 24 episodes of SnK...We are still at the point we started...You dont need explanations and introductions for a full action anime without any plot twists(we all knew Eren wasnt dead,it would be a twist if he actually died),contexts,plot,development...

I am really surprised that a person who thinks SnK was better than Fate actually enjoying Bahamut...

I dont know Bahamut's source material but i would bet on UBW(which is guaranteed to be good) compared to a show i just watched 2 episodes of....It doesnt mean Bahamut is bad...
