Rejoice, fellow otakus. We no longer have to have their mediocre movies serve as the flagship of the anime industry

Note: they are still making anime tho (unfortunately)

>According to my informations, they will keep a small staff for Hayao Miyazaki projects.

That's the good news since I enjoy his films.

Also, I'll say otherwise that the films aren't mediocre.

TAKAHATA is and was always better that Miyazaki im sorry but that is fact in the way that people who have seeb all of his work will agree on only only his flims
"If you tremble with indignation at every injustice, then you are a comrade of mine"

When the union's inspiration through the workers' blood shall run
There can be no power greater anywhere beneath the sun
Yet what force on earth is weaker than the feeble strength of one
For the Union makes us strong

Would have to agree.

What would be interesting is if they started doing anime series, even though that would likely never happen.

No, let's not have madhouse be contaminated by anything from Ghibli please. Madhouse is already slipping a bit, as it is.

Wait a minute, now I searched that studio I found out that the movies I watched and loved in my childhood are from them. Shame to see them go.

Does anyone know if there's a company out there that could possibly replace Ghibli as the next big studio in the industry?

Rejoice, fellow selfproclaimed experts. For one of the best studios will close the door and will stop giving us good anime movies on a regulary basis that aren't full of chuuni stuff, blatant escapism of the worst kind, otaku tropes and unneccesary edge for ignorant teenagers and 30+ virgins.

Yeah, I feel you....

Also, all these people here who never actually watched Ghibli? That's like saying you grew up without watching any Hollywood milestone. How ignorant can you get?!

Yes, by watching them now. Do not worry, chances are high that the random Ghibli movie you will pick will be better than 95% of the anime in this year.

I'd like to point out that Ghibli movies are blatant escapism and shameless disney ripoffs.

Not sure why you think watching certain cartoons make you more intelligent, especially given that your posts are usually uninformed and appear to be written on a third grade level.

Why do you feel the need to judge others so harshly?

Spend that energy earning money to buy a mirror.

Dude just goes thread to thread acting like the smartest guy in the room based on his idea that he has superior taste.

Even with better taste, you wont convince anyone you are more intelligent than they are when you can't even speak proper English and you are practically begging them for validation.

True confidence doesn't require repeated validation in the form of insulting others.

Ghibli played a significant role in the creation and popularity of modern day anime, as such, nothing could replace how large and influential the studio is.

Well, it's not like their earlier movies will stop existing, so it's not the worst thing if they're finished with movies. Miyazaki said it was inevitable. It was going to happen at some point, no reason for it not to be now.

After seeing the PV for the show I wish they weren't. The CG is creepy, I feel like that face its going to be forever burned into my retinas. And I was actually kinda hyped for it since I thought it would be at least decent.
