Is this anime really only going to be 11 episodes? Or will it just be 11 episodes for the first season? It's been really good for sure. The Death Note vibes I got from it was great. Death Note is one of my favorite animes so I'm glad we're seeing something like it.

I was relieved to see that Lisa just packed her things and took off. Hopefully it'll be the beginning for some serious charcter development. I really long to see some of that. .w.

Well, I'm hooked.
OMG poor Lisa, her mom is crazy and is shaking her sanity (literally).
This feels like Death Note minus the demons.
12 and 9 are awesome together. (I'm already expecting yaoi fan-fiction to be out).
Shibasaki is the new L, though he likes crosswords and couches instead of sweets.
Riddles are awesome, though I have no idea how someone can make all those connections in the span of like 6 hours.

That actually makes more sense under the circumstances. Dun dun dun dunnnnnn!!!
That makes her mom's neurosis much more cored.

I'm totally lovin how this show is making us all think. So glad it has no manga base. Spoilers'd be everywhere.

Holy shit, now Lisa's mom be very scary. She hasn't gotten over the death of the diet member. Sheesh, she doesn't want Lisa to be out and is scared she'll run away or be gone from her world of living. My goodness what a twist and I find that a much better twist and a scarier thought. I'm gonna rewatch all three episodes to see anything new or unusual.

I found it to be a weaker episode than the first two, primarily because I didn't care too much about the detective. Luckily, for Zankyou no Terror, even a weak is a good episode. I am so glad Lisa ran away from her mother but I find myself wondering with every passing episode what her role in all of this mess will be.

If it had been any other anime, she;d be already with the group by episode 2 and while she asks herself what is going on, she obeys and what not. This show differs and show what she's battling inside by handing small screen time and confusion. A giant reflection of nihilism I can feel from her and knows to go away. I believe the fourth episode is when this show kicks off and pushes in high gear.

This show is giving me Death Note vibes all over... love the cat and mouse concept.

Although the notion that two teens successfully stealing enough (weapons-grade?) plutonium and being able to actually utilize it in that manner is a little far-fetched, I'm going to give the show some slack for being at least somewhat believable. Maybe they are making some kind of dirty bomb? I also don't think Tor is as secure as the show makes it out to be that the government wouldn't be able to find you if they really wanted to.

Still, glad I picked this one up after reading that this was one of the better shows of the season.

Nice ep, but they better start picking up the pace if they're going to be able to make this show end well with only 11 eps.

Cliche? From my understanding, pretty sure all villains to some extent want to be understood.

You can't even really call Nine and Twelve villains. Yet.

This does make me think the diet worker who jumped had been Lisa's dad and now Lisa getting bullied, maybe her mother knows and is very overprotective and worried cause she is scared she may head the next route and the trauma of such a passing is a reason why she's worried and all over her. Bullying is a big influence on people committing suicide to boot.

O_O
*NODS*
Her mom's frantic ALL the time. A husband going away will not make her this way. Shibazaki would also have tried to keep in touch with them.. He's the kind of guy who WON'T abandon his own kid. But makes me wonder what happened to his own family. He's lost them cos of the Diet case? He's always in the archives, up all night, nowhere to go.

But a husband claimed to have committed suicide.. That's gotta put a crack in your head. She might think Lisa might have such tendencies. And Lisa's annoyed that she can't move on, that her mom doesn't trust her, and ends up losing her faith altogether. Huaaaaa!
Yeah.. if people learn about her father, she could be subject to ridicule by bullies. But I guess by not standing up to them, Lisa's also testing how vulnerable she is.. if she can crack.. but it just makes her sick.. she's totally stopped caring. And suddenly 9 and 12 are thrilling.. it's a welcome change to something different, a place to be free.. a place to get rid.

Do you really believe they just make exploding things for fun? Obviously not, they want to pass a message, they want to tell something.

Now the real questions are :

- what is the message? Obviously unless VON is the message, they are just grabing the "public" attention for now
- who is the message destined to? Is the message limited to some selected individuals, is it a message destinated to the government/autorities, or a message for all japan/world

I wouldn't be surprised if they wanted to destroy the people responsible for their childhoods, while putting this shady secret experiment on the spotlight in a grandiose kind of way.
What would be cool would be that the "sucide" that destroyed Shibasaki career was related to this experiment (it would ironicaly makes them allies in truth)

So, we got 2 suspect that might be Lisa dad. The Diet member who jump off and that Shibazaki.

Well, if Shibazaki is the father, this can only be just fact and not to involve with the story plot.

For me, this anime is the biggest surprise of the summer and spring.

I almost missed it, but I watched some 'upcoming anime summer 2014' again and I don't know how I missed this one.
Finally an aweseome anime with great ost, characters and no annoying anime cliches/characters.

I really wonder about 9 and 12's past and what their motivation is and I really like Shibazaki.
I saw the game with the dragon leading to a clue but it was interesting none the less.
I hope they release the ost or I can find it somewhere on youtube maybe some time later because it's amazing.

Depending on how this anime plays out I will probably bump it up from a 9 to a 10.

These games between our lil terrorists and the detectives are going to be really fun.

Ah... Hiroshima... now that's something sad to remember from the history of mankind...

A new video is up on YouTube and this time they'd like to get over 5k likes XD.

Jeez... Lisa's mother is real lunatic...

I guess that Shibazaki is going to be the only detective that'll pose a threat to Nine and Twelve.

We got to see a little more of their past... it sure was sad...

Ohooo, they're live stream was really popular lol.

There's an amazing charm to this, and two of them are the OST (especially the piano), and the masterful backgrounds. I am unable to comprehend just how they make such beautifully detailed backgrounds in such a short amount of time.

Fuck it, let's just say this anime is one whole charm itself. It requires nothing else but itself.

I'm also surprised, yet not very surprised that people think the characters are bland and lack characterization. Thing is...all the characterization is there, it's just not overdone like most animes do it. Everything is subtle, and I personally like it that way. I think you'll have to wait to see them peel back the layers over time. And in the end, even if we don't get a 'full picture' of each character, it'll be okay, because it's more realistic that way. When I want unapologetically blatant characterization, I watch some JoJo lol (can't wait for tomorrow's episode btw)[/quote]

I couldn't agree more with this. It's one of the many reasons I really enjoy this anime so far. I like how Lisa isn't a stereotypical shy/dependent girl like in so many animes. Her 'shyness/anti-socialness' is believable because it's not over the top and she obviously wasn't raised in a good environment.

I also like how Twelve's quirk of always smiling is creepy enough but not over the top, he actually seems charming at first before you find out his as ruthless as Nine (though less serious).

I too am enjoying the OST, especially the opening and ending. They are unique and fitting for the overall serious tone of the show

Great first post! I too, agree that the anime portrays the characters subtly and realistically. In a genre that generally prides itself in characters being melodramatic, loud, kawaii, and over the top as possible, Zankyou no Terror opts to take a very human approach. And it's refreshing.

The writting isn't so good like it seems in this anime. The direction and pacing is good. I wonder where those 2 main guys got all the staff to make the bombs? They never explained it. I hope they will..? And who would employ a teen boy in a nuclear facility anyway? I hope they will explain this "plot holes" or it will be a little to random.

They only explained that the man worked at a nuclear facility. I'm sure they tested him to see if he was capable. That and if he forged where he originally came from to be taken in by a local, more power to them. However, no word has been made on how old he is. He seems to be in the spectrum of late 17, early eighteen, a good time to start working seriously. Or maybe forged identity and age without realizing it.
