It just gets more interesting and it makes you want to figure the stuff out so much more every episode. And that scene where he asked the guy about the spy lady just made everything so much more complicated, I can’t wait to see how that makes sense.

It means 1 to 1 meaning they’re adapting the manga perfectly.
But they've already adapted 10 chaps, so its more like 2.5:1

Um no? That’s not the point that’s not how this works. By One-to-One I mean they haven’t skipped any scenes for the manga so far. The adaptation has been perfect so far. I’m being as straight forward as I can with you lol.

At first, I thought I would be easily able to predict which one would be a shadow. And don't get me wrong, I still have some heavy suspicions, but I think the episode did a good job at muddying the waters for me by the end. (I thinking Sou could be bc he didn't say the important thing he wanted to the day before)
Have a healthy, happy, day of hilarity!

The thrill of not being able to differentiate between Shadows and real humans is unreal. Great animation, lots of angles used throughout the episodes, unique plot and suspenseful story telling and direction; this might actually be the best anime of the season.

50% chance the Ushio we saw at the end is her doppelganger and she murders Shinpei here. I'm hoping instead that Ushio killed her double with her own two hands (hence the strangulation marks) and from here she'll be part of the main cast though.

I don't know about you guys, but after Shinpei asked Sou what he wanted to talk to him about, and Sou simply said that it was nothing important, I had the impression that Sou was already a shadow.

Another issue is, if Ushio was killed by the shadow, maybe it wasn't during the drowning, as there were marks on her neck, which presumably the shadow killed her later in the hospital or something. But if so, why didn't she take Ushio's place? (since the body appers at the funeral) ... I don't believe that the shadow would have killed her simply for killing.

On the other hand, Shiori, at the time of the drowning, could already be a shadow, and by the time Ushio went to save her, she might have strangled her too. And because of all the commotion, she couldn't touch her body afterwards to be able to copy, which would explain Ushio's body being in the funeral.

Despite that, that doesn't justify Ushio's appearance at the end....

Still, when Shinpei talks to the owner of the inn and asks for the woman in the suit and big boobs, he has a flash back to a previous moment, in which the owner of the inn drunk enters the Shinpei family's store saying that he had asked for that woman. However at that moment he hadn't asked for the woman yet. In that case, there's a possibility that Ushio, in this case, is an "echo" from another timeline, maybe............

I half regret having read the manga, I wasn't properly surprised by the reveal at the conclusion of this episode, instead I was waiting in anticipation for Ushio to make her appearance instead. Still put a grin on my face though, almost feel like I did back when Game of Thrones as in its early glory days looking in amusement at show only watchers reactions ha.

1when the shadows are killed Did their bodies disappear or are the bodies still intact? Somehow I don't think the corpse in the cemetery is ushio, but the shadows of the real ushio and Ushio are still alive lol.don't think too much about my silly thoughts, because of the fact that I just rejected the fact that Ushio was gone lol.

Gotta love watching my man Eren in a different work, he's doing great for his role lmao
On the other side, i am absolutely loving it and it kills me that we know so little.
Now i wonder what was that ending...was she really good? And is Shinpei really safe to trust? We'll see i guess but can't wait.

Im calling it right now ushio's shadow is probably gonna be different from those other shadow's maybe because of the memory's she got from ushio and that made the shadow unstable compared to the other shadows

Also the dude friend is friend is probably a shadow since you can't trust just anyone in this kind of series

Wtfff Every frame of this anime is a masterpiece art..Why the heck the Cover Photo of this anime is so average.Only for that average Cover Photo many people like me would have ignored such high quality animation. If I had not seen Higurashi(Very similar, even to the extent of Plagiarism by Summerrender) or Steins Gate ,then This show would have been in my Top anime of all time

I was thinking, from what it looks like shadows make clones when they kill the actual person. That’s what happened with Totsumura. But then Ushio and Mio have had shadows while still being alive?

If there can be shadows of living people, why don’t the shadow creatures go around copying and killing every islander? Just my thoughts.

The obvious answer is that having two people running around is suspicious as hell. They can easily disappear people once they kill them, so it's far more convenient to follow through with the deed. Not to mention there's currently no reliable way of differentiating a shadow from the person. A complete switcheroo is practically unnoticeable.

I wish they explained more on what the shadows actually are. They probably will later tho. Also I’m mad confused on the ending of this ep. Also, why tf is ushio helping the mc in a way? He hasn’t seen her in 2 years so I feel like she would have helped the other characters more. Idk tho

I really can't help holding my breath watching these episodes, it's so strange. The way the tension is built and fear is communicated through the different direction plus voice acting is insane. Really good episode, let's see what happens next.

Whew Shinpei was saved this time by a hair's breadth. I wonder why Shadow Shiori left when Shiomi came, she could have just killed them both and then copy them. Unless they have limit to how many they can copy at a time or something.

Good to have Sou onboard too, is he the real one thou? Pretty obvious on who has feelings for who but I like Mio x Shinpei. Mio's really adorable and she looked beautiful in yukata.

That scene of Shinpei in the hallway with the shadow was real creepy. I thought for sure he was ded.

I'm suspicious of Sou. He seems to be hiding something.

So if I understand correctly only people with the sickness can see the shadows? Weird.

I wonder what that gift Ushio gave to Shinpei was in the opening scene of the first episode. Guessing his eye has some ability to reset time or something. Still bizarre tho.

Really good. The plot continues to thicken.

Butts or boobs, both are great imo.

I thought he would die when he was facing Shiori, which was fine, because I figured he'd try to save the Kobayakawa family. I guess that's pretty low on his priorities, eh? Either way, that was a pretty creepy scene. Even though Sou suggested Shadows could be beaten, I can't see how they plan to fight back at the moment.

Theoretically Ushio's Shadow would be hanging out around the island, yeah? I mean, the other ones have been after all. Maybe she'll be the one not evil Shadow. Also, she'd potentially know the password to the phone too, so Shadow or not, I imagine she has a wealth of information about the situation in general.

Okay. I am Shinpei, let me state some of the facts about the situation I’m in.

There are shadows who, when seen by their real copy, take their place and become evil versions living out the lives of the person replaced.

My friend has very recently died.

This friend saw one of these shadows shortly before her death.

It is ver likely that anyone I see with a resemblance to her is a shadow.

These shadows have a history of murdering me instantly if they find out I’m in on their secret.

I was already almost killed by one earlier this episode.

I see someone who looks like my deceased friend, and I could glean, through even a second of forethought, is a murderous shadow.
