Many chibi scenes this episode <3, it reminded me of Senpai wa Otoko no Ko. Hina was especially cute.

Idk "I want my smash to be more accurate" seems a better goal to me. But oh well.

I know they aren't going to kiss but I would die if they did.

I can't believe so many people complain about fanservice nowadays.

There was absolutely no need for the utterly bad "fall on top of each other" cliche. He could've just said "It's you who inspires me" when she talked about finding inspiration and it would be way more sensible and intimate. Whatever.

Even tho, he is not showing it to others, the close ones notice it pretty easily that he has taken that loss very hard on himself. He also fell sick and the sweetheart Chinatsu is taking care of him and we also had a heart-to-heart. It was cute and then the intimate scene. AHHH. Cute.

That was cute, Chinatsu is very supporting of Taiki especially when he's sick like that, that ending though? They both fell on the bed but seems like Chinatsu is trying something??

Second half of the episode had more romantic cliches than the entirety of the anime till this point. Not really a fan of them but I will let it pass since I think the whole "Chinatsu taking care of Taiki and encouraging him" sequence was executed nicely.

after that upset, he is not not aiming for IH like his senpai but still sets a goal to work towards.
With Chinatsu powering through, passing his sickness onto her is the last thing he wants but she has to take care of a housemate, it gives them a chance to speak alone and get to know their feelings more.

cliffhanger aaaagh

This episode really tested my patience. I'm definitely enjoying this show less and less over time.

The art style and the animation are appealing for sure, but it's barely holding up the unremarkable, cliche-riddled story and paper-thin characters. In just this episode, we got the sick-in-bed event with handmade porridge/udon, plus the accidental falling onto the bed together, with almost no deviation from the norm.

It tastes very sweet, but there's zero nutrition or satisfaction. And worst of all, it's just becoming boring and forgettable.

I'm puzzled how the manga is such a smash hit on Weekly Shounen Jump and how it got such a lavish adaptation. Is this all it takes?

Warm fuzzy episode, with Chinatsu curing illness as well as curing some depression. We end with her on top of Taiki, who's too sick to fight back, so it looks like he just lays there and lets it happen. Good man.

It's sweet how Chinatsu took care of Taiki when he was sick, and I enjoyed their heart to heart. However, I wish the cliché "I got dizzy and we fell on each other" thing didn't happen; it would mean more if they made a conscious decision to make a move.

That Taiki-Chinatsu cliffhanger with the classic 'accidental trip' trope was so bait and not one I cared for, but was good to at least see them communicate things out to some degree after Taiki got a reality check at the tournament, even if it mainly occurred due to him being sick and not finding ways to weasel his way out of avoiding the awkwardness and frustrations of not delivering on his goal there. It's a pretty looking series with some nice potential for development in terms of skill and confidence and not many unlikable characters, but the characters still feel a bit hollow to watch these many episodes in to make this have great potential in my head. Honestly, if the trip wasn't there though, that whole scene would've been even better to make it a more realistic, intimate scene than using a bit that generic romcom anime would rely on. Hopefully this kind of helps in resetting Taiki's brain and mindset to push forward in improving himself like his smash precision and not let the failures get to him but fuel him to take his game to the next level.

Chinatsu made it to the stage of her dreams, but Taiki's first competition already being a demotivation, how will he pick up from here?

While Taiki and Hina prep for exams, Chinatsu is full speed ahead for Nationals, and so too is Haryu being the only one in the grid of Sajikawa High Schoolers from the prefectural qualifiers. The competition may be over for now, but the endless days of prep for both exams and sport take precedence, and when one ends with the books, it's the sport that demands full concentration next.

For the long while now, Taiki has been all talk and no bark, feeling in the dumps so much that Chinatsu has to step in, reassure and take care of him down in his sickness with her own homemade cooking since his mother isn't around. A good talk after a long time from the competition and studies between the two, and it defintely helped Taiki set his thoughts straight It's the same for Chinatsu, who wants to root for people having lofty goals, even if it's far out of reach, because it's at least sharing the struggles of reaching towards where they want to be.

Well, would you look at that: Taiki's dizziness causing the intimate moment between him and Chinatsu, ever so sly.

Now that’s one hell of a cliffhanger to end of episode man my man Taiki finally got something good to happen to him after losing the qualifiers to his soon to be rival and seeing Chinatsu make it while he didn’t, so I’m happy a lil that he got Chinatsu to fall on top of him😭🙏🏽

Hina’s chibi face dozing off in class was so cute yet funny haha and the JJK line which wasn’t even making a reference to JJK was so funny to me bc the disclaimer said it wasn’t a reference🤣

Best part in this whole episode to me and bear with me here…………………THAT ASS SHOT OF CHINATSU FROM THE BACK my lawd she’s so fine in them Nike shorts man im surprised Taiki wasn’t trembling when she walked into his room with them “fuck me” shorts on😣😫😫😫😫

Taiki tried really hard to hide his frustration about failing to get to nationals. Even though his best friends tried to comfort him, they couldn’t really succeed because that goal was tied to a promise he made to someone he looked up to, someone who was the reason he chose this dream in the first place. Thankfully, if it weren’t for Chinatsu, he might never have gotten over it and would’ve just kept blaming himself for failing. What I find really heartwarming is that all she did was share her own fears and anxieties, showing that she’s just like any other human. The last scene though, was really unnecessary and cliché as heck.

What was that final scene??? I did not expect that. In this episode, they all work hard to study for finals. Taiki is still feeling down about losing. He ends up catching a cold, and Chinatsu cooks udon for him, then spends time talking to him. She reminded him that he wanted to ask her something after the tournament. But he has no confidence to ask. They have a pretty mature conversation about goals and pressure. As Chinatsu is about to get up and wash dishes, Taiki said he'd do it, but he gets dizzy, falls, and Chinatsu lands on top of him. And then... Wow. Where did that come from?

What I love about this show is that a lot of the conversations and feelings are realistic. The characters feel real, unlike a lot of anime. Also, something caught my eye while they were showing the girls basketball team practice. Every character is animated separately. I am impressed. This show continues to impress me.

Taiki practices despite having exams coming up leaving Kyo and Hina worried.

Taiki falls ill when he overworking himself. He and Chinatsu share some moments together whilst discussing about Taiki's goal. Taiki agrees to put reaching the nationals rather than just improving his skills.

No no no no no no no no NO!!! I thought this anime wouldn’t have any cliché romantic moments, but I was wrong! It happened just like in every romance anime, tripping and ending up on top of your crush! Oh my god, I swear this scene exists in every single romance anime! But honestly… Taiki and Chinatsu deserve some intimate moments!

Ugh, I’ve reached my limit, I need to sleep! Watching nine episodes in a row and staying up so late is exhausting! And I have work tomorrow. I hate beautiful anime, but I love them so much at the same time! I can’t believe I watched nine episodes in pure excitement! I don’t even remember the last time I felt this way! It’s so refreshing to love an anime this much!

Before, Chihayafuru was my favorite sports anime, but I think Blue Box is about to take that spot! Oh my god, I’m so excited for episode 10, but I have to sleep!

Also, exams are over, I hope Kyo, Hana, and Taiki passed all their subjects. And I hope I pass mine too! I feel motivated to work hard tomorrow. I really hope the anime stays this amazing until episode 25!

Also, what if there was a kiss scene? Even though that’s impossible… But let’s say there was, would Chinatsu catch Taiki’s fever or not? That’s the million-dollar question, haha.

Ah yes... the boring part of studying for exams and standard being sick ;/ I knew it will get boring now..
what did Chinatsu try to do with her hand at the end? she didn't get flustered or shy?

Ah yes, the typical "MC gets sick and crush takes care of him" episode. Honestly, what's a romance anime without one of these. It's used to develop relationships and progress the story. (Same for Birthday, Christmas, New Years, Valentines, School Festival, beach/swimming, and sometimes graduation episodes). Most commonly used strategy in the genre, so I'm not surprised it's in this one as well. Still love these episodes though...gets me excited.🔥🙌
