| this chapter got the feels going a bit. confirmed now that ginny is indeed bonney's mother and she passed away from a new disease that bonney has inherited. will be interesting to see how she winded up getting cured for it later on. kuma really is a great dad. this man was doing anything and everything for bonney despite not being the most qualified. with each new chapter everything's kuma has done in the series gets so much more depth to it. have a feeling next chapter we're going to see how he got his nickname as the tyrant. probably is gonna end up getting blamed for the actions of the king |

| I was not expecting that at all. I had so many theories about Bonney, but this was never one of them. Kuma is a sweet and compassionate person. He welcomed her and lavished her with the love she deserved. He's truly a wonderful father. |

Didn't really like the chapter, making Bonney the result of a tenryubito raping Ginny and making Kuma a literal cuckold is too much for me, I take these things too seriously, having the girl that was the love of his life get raped and impregnated and having to raise that child pretty much ruins these characters for me, it's both too dark and deep personally, I love the bond of a father and a child, but this is not it, I'm not saying that Kuma is stupid for caring for Ginny's child, considering that they were like family I understand, but Oda deciding to go on that direction just grosses me out, it's uncomfortable for me, these characters already suffered enough, Oda didn't need to go that far, you may disagree, this is just how I feel about this.

One piece has been my favorite manga for a while but I'm dropping it after this.
Bonney is one of the best female characters and has one of the best designs,her being 12 just ruins all of that,oda always drew her very weirdly despite knowing he was gonna make her a child, please don't use her fruits ability to defend this, put her in seawater and she's still a child. (Also she literally didn't need to be a kid, the story could have still worked out exactly the same if she was 20~)

| @Berturtle ok explain HOW the story would work given these settings oda has layed out the revolutionary army which not only freed kumas land and thus recruited kuma after AND them directly fighting the WG by liberating countries only existed twenty two years ago AND not only that but ginny would also need to be kidnapped and forced to be wedded to the CD AND kuma was STILL in the revo army 10 yrs before the start of the series as we seen in other flashback explain then how the excatly same story would play out if bonney was 20 Mod Edit: Removed baiting. |

| @AOD-san Ngl I think it's an plot hole on Oda's part, Fishertigar was heavily wounded by a Vice Admiral in his flashback you can excuse escaping the holy land before the introduction of the holy knights but after Oda implemented them into the story I don't think he would have managed to escape if some of them were there. |

It was surprising seeing the chapter only partly finished but sometimes because of the deadlines it happens, I'm sure it will be finished for the omnibus

| @SamBlack Oh I'm sure the art will be fixed by the time the chapter is released in a volume, although that just means more work for Oda and his team and they'll probably take an extra week off at a later time in order to fix the chapter. So it's a lose-lose situation either way. Honestly I really hate Dragon. He was so cool in Loguetown but pretty much every scene he's gotten after that just portrays him as a coward who talks big but never delivers. Like, it was bad enough when he boasted about declaring war at the Reverie yet didn't actually go there himself and sent Sabo instead, now he let Ginny get kidnapped and r-word and did nothing. Coward D. Dragon, indeed. |

| @supashi2310 Neither of those things happened though. We don't know what either Roger or Garp did in God Valley. Garp has always made it clear he's not on the side of the Celestial Dragons, thus why he refused a promotion to avoid working with them. From the little we know that's where Roger was defeated/captured, and Garp gained his title of "Hero of the Marines"... which was clearly covered and twisted to fit the Celestials' agenda. And I'm sure Dragon did what was possible to save Ginny, but attacking Mariejoise has proven really difficult for everyone. Being the most powerful force in the world, able to now erase an island with a thought. With Kuma's abilities, if he couldn't save her, neither could Dragon. |

| @28012001 So the thing about the pain ball flashback, the thing we learned there is that someone needs to take the pain or it will return back to the original holder after a time. Kuma paw-paw pushed his memories out, Vegapunk had them sealed away in a vault so they wouldn't return. Bonney forces the vault open. Did she take on all the memories? Did some/most go back to the original source? Kuma suddenly launching himself against Mariejoia. Hm. "Yeah, I'm thinking I'm back." @RSK48 Or, her being a CD child is what is saving her from the WG. |

one piece is kinda like harry potter in the way that it keeps getting darker as the arcs go on, I believe boa and her sisters were subtly hinted to be _ by the cd,then viola and doffy being intimate was in sbs but was never shown explicitly in the manga, ch 1098 is the proof that that this final saga will be brutal and we might have to see sacrifices or deaths of our fav characters.

| I went into the chapter knowing it was incomplete but I didn't expect it to be mostly sketches. A 13 page chapter last week and an uncompleted one this week, Hopefully Oda's health isn't getting worse, especially since he had surgery just a few months ago. This chapter really changes the way we see her past interactions in the series. From her encounter with Teech to her interaction with Sakazuki, it adds a whole new layer of meaning. And when she stops Zoro from attacking Charlos, she's essentially leaving that woman to face the same fate as Ginny. |
