| That was an ok episode, what was the song at the ending though? I didn't recognize it. lol This was like staring at a mirror seriously. Konata is like the same as me. Plays video games, reads manga, watches anime and never seems be able to fit everything in her schedule that she would like to. The Haruhi reference was good. Don't want to miss those Haruhu episodes. I wish i had anime on tv :(. Sadly i have to resort to adult swim and they don't have hardly anything on. It would be nice to have a 24 hr block of anime shown on tv all the time. |

| Very interesting episode! It was funny seeing Konata mess around during the Hiiragi sisters' birthday. I saw some references which I'm glad that I understood. Undoubtedly, I probably missed like 98% of them haha. Haruhi Suzumiya reference  HIGURASHI?!?!??  |

| Lmao. Konata got the boy who cried wolf'd. That's what she gets for lying to take absences all the time. The birthday of the twins wasn't crazy. Sometimes it's better to just have your close friends instead of throwing a big party. I love Konata and Kagami's interactions. At first, I thought Kagami hates Kona or something. But these two are definitely best friends lol. It makes sense that Konata's dad is also a huge geek like her lol. But damn, her mother died when she was little? That's rough. Didn't expect something like that to randomly appear in this kind of anime. And of course, Konata treated it like a joke immediately. Might be a coping mechanism. Poor girl. So many Haruhi references. I guess it's normal since it's made by the same studio. But most of them are going over my head since I haven't watched Haruhi yet. I don't like these types of references too much cause sometimes they can ruin the enjoyment of a show. They even referenced Moe Drill in this episode. That's a Lucky Star game that came out 2 years before the anime?! That's rare. What a weird 4th wall-breaking reference. The Shin-chan reference was awesome though. Why is the show treating 80s references like they're something that's only for old geezers? Nowadays, 80s movies and anime are considered classics. You won't see anyone calling Terminator 1 and 2 or Back to the Future boomer movies. They're classics. But I guess that's cause Lucky Star is from the mid to late 2000s. 80s stuff wasn't considered classics yet like they're now. They were just seen as old movies. Nowadays, we have nostalgia for even 2000s stuff. This makes me feel old. Apparently, the director Yutaka Yamamoto was fired after this episode. That's rough. I didn't think these episodes were that bad. Were the ratings that poor? I'm guessing something happened behind the scenes for him to get fired. Anyway, I guess the new episodes from the new director will be better. But I probably wouldn't mind the style of episodes 1-4 for the rest of the series. I still enjoyed them. At least so far. Doubt my opinion would change much later. Kagami's singing was great tho. |
