| To find "the rare hidden gem", you have to dig deep. Usually that means not looking through recommendations of popular anime.. Find something that is relatively unpopular or considered underrated, that is where checking for recommendations helps. Also, look for profiles of people who are interested in lesser-known anime; looking through their lists and seeing what they've rated high will show you where to look further. |

| I do look at recommendations, but I also ask friends that I've made on here for opinions. I also sometimes specifically ask for things that don't seem like they'd be my thing, you just never know. Or maybe something will pop up at random and I'll look into it. But I think friends tends to be the main thing. Or maybe the poorer selling titles in any anime or manga company's library, I always tend to look into those. |

| Usually through word of mouth, or from friends spreading pictures, GIFs, or videos from the anime. People really forget how strong hearing someone say, "Hey this was great, you should check it out." is. It's how I found "Baccano!". Seriously, go watch "Baccano!". |
