| Not counting the childhood anime, about three years into it more or less. But my list was small anyway. I was already more into manga than anime, I used to spend more time re-watching my favorites and I didn't track diligently so I forgot and just skipped adding some of the series I watched before and for a while after I created the account. |

I mostly watched battle shonen, some rom coms/sports anime here and there though I never really dived more into the medium, than that. I was content re-watching One Piece and Naruto episodes. It wasn't until 2016, where I started just watching everything I could find. So honestly, I started becoming a more hardcore fan around the time I made this account. |

Maybe 3-4? I remember I'd recently turned 13 and I was getting more into anime so I wanted somewhere to keep track of what I was watching. |

| MAL only came to my attention in 2019 or 2020, which is when I made my account. I just added any shows I can remember watching since I was a kid, be it from Free Local TV, Cable, DVDs, and streaming sites, prior to those year. I've actually been away from Anime for about 7 years prior to joining MAL (except for Gintama, which I tried my best to be updated with all those years) due to entry-level jobs eating time out of my life, so shows like KnY, MHA, Fire Force, and a few 2019/20 seasonals were some of my first Anime from that/this era. It wasn't until 2021 or 2022 that I entered the seasonal realm. |

| I forgot how I first found MAL and why I decided to make an account, though I was already used to keeping track of my progress on books with Goodreads so I guess that aspect appealed to me, but it was around two years after I started, after I'd already watched the most popular anime/manga that was recommended (One Piece, Fullmetal Alchemist, Death Note, Soul Eater, Cowboy Bebop etc. so those entries don't have start/finish dates on my list because I didn't keep track). I know the first anime I ever added as 'currently watching' was Parasyte, as it was the first seasonal anime I ever followed and I had an account by then. |

I started seriously watching anime around late 2019 and earl 2020, if you ignore watching pokemon and inazuma 11 as a child, but I made my MAL account in 2024 cause I wanted to find a way to keep track of the anime I was watching.

| Almost three years in and still what I would consider as toward the beginning. Just like the middle or end of the beginning phase rather than the pure beginning beginning, if you know what I mean. Apropos of that Churchillian WWII-related quote of neither being the end nor even the beginning of the end, but perhaps the end of the beginning. I started in September of 2016 and joined MAL in June of 2019, so mid-year, a few months before the three year mark (though had started lurking the forum and on and off occasionally referencing the individual anime series' webpages in the database a while before that, since it kept recurring in appearances as a prominent resource toward the top of the first page of search results). But in 2016 from September through the end of the year I only watched six series and between 2017 and 2018 I only watched a handful as well. It wasn't actually until March of 2019, right on the heels of finishing an Inuyasha rewatch, that I began watching series regularly back to back. And then in 2020 dipped my toes into seasonals and then due to life events became a regular seasonal watcher in 2021, but still watched older/finished series in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023. In 2024 and this year of 2025 though I've basically been seasonals-only so I need to really switch things up and get into my massive and ever-growing backlog. |

| I started watching anime in early 90ties but I guess I started being serious about it in around 2005 or it was 2006. I found MAL when I searched on google some anime titles but I was using it for a year without registering. I opened account here when I decided that it would be a little bit more easier to keep track series than my excel list. |
