| I love it when the series makes you feel like you're Gojo watching anime for his next cosplay; those series always seem so interesting that I wouldn't mind seeing them in an actual spin-off. Marin just realized that Gojo knows each and every one of her measurements, even the unseen ones. 😂 And I'll say it again, Marin's friends are awesome. the MVP of this episode? Shiki, the blonde guy with glasses. Not only did he ask Gojo once if he was sure he could handle Marin's decor and costume, but he asked him a second time when he saw that Gojo wasn't sure of his answer. He even stepped in to stop a colleague who didn't see Gojo's doubt. And thanks to that moment, everyone was finally able to hear Gojo's voice, see his opinion and recognize his true ability. More importantly, Gojo realized that people really believed in him, not as someone who takes a back seat, but as the only person who could make it. That confidence boost gave him the push he needed to go back to Marin before he messed up his costume purchase 😅. |

| Well I think the fake anime segment may have went on a little too long, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t wish that show was real lol, some parts were a bit overdramatized but I love the concept, of course it was parodying existing series but still lol. And although it wasn’t really what it was parodying, Rei kinda reminded me of Sachiko from MariMite, and the main girl reminded me of Tohru from Fruits Basket, oddly enough it’s a matchup I like lol. The fake anime aside, it was nice to get some background on it before Marin and Gojo took on the task, it’s interesting that Marin will be crossdressing for this cosplay (but is it really crossdressing if the character is female? I guess since the character is crossdressing so maybe lol), nice timing too since we just came off Himeno’s little arc. And it really did seem tough for Gojo to be able to take on not just helping with the school festival, but also Marin’s cosplay, but thankfully that’s an absolute W class Gojo has, we didn’t even see most of them until this season but wow they were real ones, that made me really happy for Gojo and by extension Marin, so she no longer has to do this by herself which she probably would have messed up lol. |

| this ep is the 2nd in a row I have no complaints with. It was perfect. Some may not like showing a small part of the anime and eroge that Marin is cosplaying but to me, this is something S1 really needed (IIRC S1 didn't show em like S2 is) as sure, Marin discussed them like she does here, but, it still felt like these weren't actual cosplays for lack of better words as we can't relate to these characters like Marin and Gojou can because, an anime/eroge for them doesn't exist in our world thus there is a disconnect. Sure, we don't get to see as much as they do, and yes that can impact our involvement with them (e.g. I didn't even come CLOSE to crying in the Bento scene but they tried), but, all the same this gives a more deeper and more personal attachment to the characters she's cosplaying as and makes it feel more like actual cosplay than here's generic I dunno, bunny girl suit no whatever here. I get some may not like these short anime within anime scenes (and I think this one was longer and if am right then it was longer because they were trying to make the Bento scene more heartfelt, if they'd had much more time, i.e. a whole ep or two, they might could've pulled that off but that'd be too much so they tried to make it still work and am sure some were touched by it as a result enough to cry, just not me) but, this is needed imo and I prefer this given all I said above. Said another way, remember all those anime cosplay eps in various anime where characters cosplay as anime characters but they look nothing like any anime character in our world and it's done that way due to copyright and such? That's what I mean, HUGH "I can't relate to why these characters love these fictional characters in their world enough to cosplay as them" because the anime never bothered to do what S2 here is doing. Sure we know its cosplay they're doing but all the same, my entire point is, an element is missing and it makes it harder to relate to a part of the characters in the show as a result for the reasons I already said. So, yeah, another great ep. If they cna keep this up for the rest I'll be a very happy My Dress Up Darling fan :) |

Another iffy episode this week. I'm disappointed just how much we're focusing on crossdressing this season. This is also the second time we've dedicated almost 5 minutes of run time to a non-existent series. I don't mind it if it's around 2 minutes or so, but it almost feels like they're using it to pad out the episode because they want to stop at a specific point. For a series that always felt fresh in a number of aspects, the focus on the tired old classroom clichés just felt out of place.
I hate to say it, but so far, this season just isn't up to par with what we got last season.

| Again, who told that director to cook? Because the animation is popping, OFF. Got me worse than a Food Wars Maillard reaction. What a validating episode, brilliantly executed show within a show sequences, the other students in the class are finally given more life beyond Marin's clique of friends, characters on their own acknowledging that Gojo likely was going to suffer under the teacher's orders in addition to helping make Marin's cosplay (absolute S tier scene considering all of his quiet, downbeat moments in last season), and once again that animation is making my mouth water from how good it is. Absolute sakuga. The episode's title is drop dead hilarious. Like, seriously, Marin dear, it took you this long for it sink in that Gojo knows your curve measurements that intimately? Considering how audacious you acted in the last season, my guess is that you were high off of the adrenaline of getting more serious cosplays made for you to notice. |

Like, what the hell are you doing these precious weeks, pouring your money into “fake anime” that invades half of the episode and doesn’t relate about main characters man, this is such a pain that I cannot recover since Witch watch episode 14 incident. At the end of the day, no one cares about that “fake” Anime anymore. They only skip it, done.
Also, a fine episode I guess. Not many anime we’re perfecto.

| Good episode showing not only that many people nowadays other than girls know of otome games, and that Gojo shouldn't asume he'd disappoint his classmates by not overworking. He's slowly gaining confidence in himself and the support he didn't have from other people he hadn't talked to before so I feel happy for him. Props also on making me care about a fictional story inside a fictional story with only a couple of scenes. |

| It's only been a few weeks since I got to this part of the story in the manga, so it's still fresh in my mind with the introduction of Rei-sama, who Marin wants to cosplay as for the upcoming school festival. At least the rest of the class now knows about the fact that Gojo makes Marin's cosplay outfits and their reaction to it is hugely positive. Speaking of, I do like how they were helpful in telling Gojo to go and support her, especially how panicked they were upon finding out that Marin was going to buy the materials herself. They definitely made the right choice here in letting Gojo on what's more important, knowing that his classmates have the other projects under control. Overall, this was a pretty good episode. =) |

| anime episodes shouldn't have 5+ minute long cutaways to an "in-universe" anime or whatever reference material as part of the episode this is the stuff you put in the episode's epilogue extra part or something like this. 1-2 minutes should be enough. tbh, this whole season up to now has been boring and the fact practically every side-character turns out to be some sort of nerd or unrealistically supportive of otaku-ism breaks the original premise that this is something that belongs to the 2 MCs (or maybe a small circle of friends at best) in a world full of people with hangups. this over-positivity bs is what made shows like slime near unwatchable to me. |

Lets look at what this one has in My Darling Cross dressing prez who becomes a host at a DIFFERENT location not in school (Ouran btw is in school) to help out others. Has a friend whom she's close too that she meets on a bench likely near the school/on the way to school who gave her a bento who knows her secret because the prez revealed it to her. Those who visit the prez as Rei the host, know she's a girl cross dressing as a boy. (Ouran those visiting Haruhi do not know this) Now, let's look at MAL's description for the very first ep of Ouran but having seen 4 eps myself (I dropped it, didn't like it) let's see how very different it is. And b4 I post the description, let me just point out my thoughts as if u've read it. Now you cna see why I said it's not a riff, or Ouran. Just because it has a school theme and a host who cross dresses doesn't mean it's Ouran, it's not. There's other anime out there with similar themes and or that have Hosts, I can't recall the names of any but my guess is, sicne Ouran is the most known one, that's why a few people are claiming its Ouran when it's again, not. Anyway, here is the description for Oran and below it, my reason for why I didn't like the anime (but think it's an alright anime) " Haruhi Fujioka is a studious girl who has recently enrolled at the prestigious Ouran Academy. One day, while looking for a quiet and peaceful place to study, she stumbles across a seemingly unused music room. Upon entering, Haruhi is welcomed by the members of the well-known Host Club: a club in which attractive boys amuse girls from across the entire school. However, when Tamaki Suou—the founder and president of the club—startles the bright scholarship student, she accidentally breaks an expensive vase. With repayment looking difficult for Haruhi, the Host Club members come up with the perfect solution to the girl's problem: work for the club and ultimately become a Host herself! They basically black mailed her into doing that (which is entirely different to Rei's reasons for doing it) and the anime was just ok to me, 4 eps didn't feel like the plot was moving, I wasn't a big fan of the reverse harem (I prefer in fiction boys cross dressing as girls not the reverse and also not a big fan of reverse harem to begin with, again, in fiction) but adding to that, none of the characters really stood out to me. I do get why people would like the anime, but for me, it was just alright, so I dropped it since it wasn't for me. |

That awkward moment when the parody anime within the anime is more interesting than the main show.. I NEED that crossdressing host series to be a real thing. Rei’s design is so pretty and that would actually be such a fun harem lol.
Back in the real world, it’s school festival time and that means beauty pageant . There was zero hesitation in who to pick when they found out what the festival entailed.

I thought Doll was very popular among girls, especially considering this isn't Marin's first shoujo cosplay. @_Kaorinite It's literally a parody of Ouran Host Club. From the concept of a shoujo harem of school hosts to the androgynous image of the female lead. |

| @Marinate1016 This is a classic '00s shoujo manga and anime, I think you'll enjoy it considering how overtly queer it is. The protagonist is genderqueer, the male lead is (sort of) bisexual, an entire arc is dedicated to parodying yuri shoujo tropes, etc. Including a BL parody with twins. |

| @Marinate1016 I watched the rest of the episode, and it looks like they went further and literally mixed Ouran Host Club with MariMite, making the original MC the central love interest and adding a new female lead for the bisexual harem. This actually looks like an original and interesting title, lmao. Although I saw a similar visual novel about Takarazuka, but there the relationship with the otokokoyaku character could only be friendly. @_Kaorinite Just because you don't like premise (blackmail is actually really popular in shoujo for some reason) doesn't change the fact that this basically looks like Ouran Host Club reworked into a crossdressing yuri/bisexual harem. The author has done this in the past actually, mixing PreCure and CCS into a fictional mahou shoujo that Marin was into. There are actually quite a few yuri crossdresser host manga, but they are all niche and I don't remember any adaptations. While the parody in the show is clearly talking about something very well known with anime and live action. |
