| Another case resolve!! The ghost in the bath!!! The mirror, it was cool! kekeke |
| Concubine Lishu encountering a ghost in her pavilion bath, Maomao knew that she's right into the line of fire once again with Gyokuyou and Jinshi, and these two certainly have their weird exchanges, even more now with the fact that she knows he has a frog. But towards the Diamond Pavilion, Maomao knows the exact same affairs as is the Crystal Pavillion with Lihua, of the unfair treatments of Kanan, the head lady-in-waiting, being berated by the former servants. The dancing ghost sightings, however, quickly prove something else that Maomao knows the answer to. Given the condition of the Diamond Pavilion, its poor maintenance, as well as the copper mirror which was a heirloom of Lishu's late mother, it all comes down to the mirror itself being a magic mirror able to project images, which caused the coincidences to all converge together. And as if that's the end of the issue, Jinshi addressing her ladies-in-waiting knowing the mistreatment they're giving to her, he does it gleefully while maintaining his authority. The question of eunuchs and the newcomers having to go through physical exams to prove they're one, it's certainty intriguing, though it's best not to pry deeper into the issue. And Jinshi's frustration about dealing with Lakan and telling Maomao the truth, it only adds to his workload. Some of the new eunuchs being former slaves through, one of them caught his eye being a once-tortured young man. Xiaolan being in the center of infamy of an issue, how is Maomao going to bail her out? |

Well pretty dumb for the lady in waiting to risk her own neck so recklessly over some petty revenge.
Jinshi getting pretty handsy, Maomao still dumb only when it comes to Jinshi. "Oh a piece of leaf on the floor let me expound for five minutes how that lead me to solve this incredibly intricate mystery. Jinshi has a penis, only the emperor and his relatives are allowed to have a penis inside the palace...duhhh what could that mean about Jinshi?!!" 9_9

| @MenchiK1 This was made pretty obvious during the frog incident, but Maomao is purposefully dumb when it comes to Jinshi. She doesn't want to know more. She doesn't want to get dragged into whatever mess he's apart of. Thus she spends negative amounts of brainpower trying to figure out his not so well hidden secrets, to the point that she deludes herself to escape reality. |

| Jinshi was extra freaky in the beginning, but was pretty epic when confronting that former head lady in waiting. I just loved that scene in general. Also excited to see next episode. |

| Before she discovered the existence of the frog she was obsessed with it and trying to figure out how the frog regrows and now that the frog is there she cant stop thinking about it and its size aswell. Sheesh, Maomao... Oh god, Xiaolan is crying. Pls someone help her. qq |
| Another absolutely amazing episode this week. Always feel bad for poor Lishu, put hopeful now this incident will help cull some of her horrid lady's and maids out of her palace. Also huge love for Lady Kanan, shes so good to poor Lishu and a favourite of mine. Its funny to see Jinshi now pushing his confidence as he becomes more playful in his teasing of MaoMao  |

| I loled real hard the "frog" was brought up again. I do wonder how long it's going to keep being brought up looooool Did I even catch her saying the frog was [somewhat] impressive??? LOL The convo at the end was also really interesting about bringing MaoMao to their "camp" so to speak but needing to interact with "the strategist" again...I did kind of wonder how's he been after spotting him in the new OP |

| Come on, man. That's freaking Suirei right there. How come no one realizes that's a woman's face? -.-' Lishu-focused episode for the most part. Man, and to think this naive and scaredy girl was originally intended to become an active concubine for the former Emperor... yikes. As for the mystery surrounding the "ghost", I gotta say I found it rather uninspiring. Too many coincidences lining up for it to be believable. So... Lishu's former lady-in-waiting wasn't the brightest bulb in the house, huh? Like, imagine having the Emperor's right hand in front of you and you still continue to disrespect your Lady smh. Nooo Xiaolan!! The hell you did?! 😰 |
| I like that Jinshi is competent at his job. While Maomao is a great analytical mind (much like her father) Jinshi understands people better. He doesn't need to say much to get them to do what he wants nor to make his point. |
| Loved to see Maomao solving that "spectre" case to discover that Lishu's mirror reflected her deceased mother's face, it was emotional. |

| I suppose Jinshi is worried about the trouble Lakan might give him if he involves Maomao in his plans, but maybe, since Lakan just wants the best for his daughter, if he knew about Jinshi's true status he could see what might happen and approve (maomao become empress :) ). |

| Seems like things are finally heating up. All of the political intrigue up to this point looks like it's finally coming to a head, with Jinshi wanting to bring Maomao over to "his side". It's not just about the budding romance between them but about setting up for some kind of future conflict, I suppose between rival factions vying for the throne or positions of power close to it. |
| Maids should at least be flogged for allowing mold to grow in the palace and not reporting it. This is in addition to the concubine's belongings being appropriated. Taking the concubine's belongings is stealing the emperor's property. Yet, they were very lenient with the servants. |
