| Visually and production-wise, this was a great start. But not too sure yet if this anime is the one or not to hooking me since it did start off pretty dry and the character-front didn't spark me with interest immediately for the time being. Fate/Zero had a longer start but even with the amount of exposition, that one did manage to hook me while this episode didn't quite do so yet. Still, this is a different take on the Holy Grail War and some amount of promise might be there, just got to be patient and see if this leads to anything interesting beyond excellent looking animation sequences. I like Fate/Zero a lot, but I was burnt out by Fate since 2020 and the few shows and movies that have come out haven't really interested me much. Can this be the one to turn that tide? I'll see. |

| Barring FGO, it’s hard for me to get tired of more Type Moon content, even the ones not under Kinoko Nasu. Considering the detour of a setup they’re having with the Holu Grail War plotline, there’s plenty of potential to be had here, so hopefully this along with its production quality holds up down the stretch. |

| This was excellent. What a great way to kick off a New Year It's really complicated, I had to back it up so many times just to understand WTF was going on. TONS of dialogue and lot of it is trying to explain a plot that keeps changing direction. Seems Faldeus' plans to manipulate the Fake Grail War already falling apart- including the Pavlov's Gun scenario of there being no Saber servant- "Only six servants" was already upended and King Arthur himself makes an appearance! We know from the history of every grail war, attempts at orchestrating ALWAYS fail- and usually quickly. I was more interested in the mystery around the Kuruoka girl in the hospital, but it decided to introduce this blond chick whose role also isn't clear. She was used as a medium to summon Saber; and this dude who did it just appeared out of nowhere. It's also unclear exactly what 'faction' there is, that wants the Grail war out in the open... Flat's motivation seems to be entirely curiosity, the guy who had the wolf was accused by Faldeus of wanting to summon his other chimeras "out in the open" but it's not clear WHY he wants anything in the open. He wasn't trying to kill the dog in the middle of downtown Snowfield was he? Then the part with this priest at the Las Vegas church..... it seemed like Faldeus and his group were the ones who were observing the war; but the church is involved- how??? That made no sense- and so now they've brought in even more characters. I can say this thing already has too many. Now there was something a bit strange, about the use of technology. Caster here, suddenly reveals to Orlando he's a super user online and hunted down all this information about the Kuruokas, that with a computer and internet he can do anything. Not clear what the noble phantasm is yet- But when Ayaka goes to that shop and asks for tips on places to stay, the guy at the store WRITES ALL THE INFO DOWN on paper... it was subtle, but seems like an interesting slight-of-hand being played. OR I could just be noticing too many odd details, but that really stood out to me. Why would you give directions on a piece of paper and not just show her places on the phone- when phones and internet are clearly in use and openly so? It can't be a mistake! can't wait til next episode- very excited |

| Reminder to everyone that this was the first episode basically being shown early, and that the show is not a Winter show, and will not be airing weekly from here on out. Which is also why MAL is being weird about this. Aniplex announced very clearly that it was just the first episode coming out early. So it's back to waiting now. Just felt I should say cause I see a lot of confused people. |

Yes but for her to not have a phone, and it was very deliberately shown him drawing directions on paper when they just made a very noticeable focus on phones and net-searching; means the reason for that scene are probably more significant than it seemed. I doubt it's just her randomly not being able to have a phone- but more like she is smart enough NOT to have one. |

| After rewatching episode-0 and now this episode-1, I am really enjoying StrangeFake. The Only Fate related anime I have ever enjoyed is Fate/Zero, so this is a very welcoming surprise. Great English dub. Im only watching this in English dub. Shame the schedule is extremely inconsistent for whatever reason, or they just havent animated more than 3 episodes so far for whatever reason that they are delaying everything. Such a shame, since I thought that all the episodes were going to start airing weekly this Winter 2025, but I guess not. |

| Am i the only one who noticed the Luvia and Rin cameo during the waver office scene? they show three pictures on hte wall and one is zoomed in but one of the two other ones if you look closely get Luvia and Rin with Waver. |

| @Antisocialsempai watch Fate Zero, it's amazing. Beautiful animation, badass fights and great story. You won't be dissapointed. Might as well watch OG Fate, UBW and Heaven's Feel, + Carnival Phantasm (I liked the first, dropped the second- too many references for hardcore fans). Never cared for the rest, maybe others will sell you on El-Melloi or FGO. |
