| Eh, they're stopping right when the race truly starts, well let's say I'm looking forward to seeing the 2nd season! Was pretty good compared to Initial D even though it's more limited and doesn't have that old school feeling, but I appreciate the European sports cars |

| Well, that kind of ended right in the middle of things -_- But anyway, this is my first watch from anything in the Initial D franchise, and I must say, it was pretty enjoyable! I’ve seen clips of the HK adaption and I thought it was cool, but that was about it, lol. I know the OG’s got a heck of an ost as well but I thought MFG’s one was fine just as it is. Excessive engrish and Angel fanservice? I agree but it wasn’t too much of a bother for me. Just want to see Kanata break some records with the ever-so-relatable toyota as his weapon. Going to settle with a solid 7/10 here, and definitely looking forward to the next season whenever’s it’s coming this year. And woah, it just hit me, this is the first completed show in the year for me. Not a bad deal, eh? |

| That cliffhanger is fine if it wasn't the final episode. As a finale, that was terrible. Felt more like an unfinished episode than an actual end of season cliffhanger attempt. For the series as a whole, almost everything was drawn out for far too long and only about half of the events outside of the races were interesting. The way the Angel's are treated in this feels like something from the 90's. And not in the good way. I did like the racing sequences quite a bit and the main romance dynamic was interesting enough. Not really sure if I'm going to watch Season 2, probably not. The music was solid. That OP was absolute FIRE! Jungle FIRE, to be precise ;) I give this one a low 6 or a high 5. I feel like being generous, so 6/10. |

| I love that wholesome talk Kanata had with Mayuko regarding his mother's life as an artist who has a photographic memory. Inherited Perception, I knew Kanata has some type of photographic memory considering how much implication the show gives. All he needed was to watch the demo run and practice by shadow driving using his imagination and memory of the demo run. Then once he's doing it for real, he applies his extensive experience in the field of racing and mastery over his car to adjust to the condition of the race as required. Compared to Takumi, you could argue that Kanata's potential is greater, the combination of early racing upbringing since he was 4, formal education through a racing school, photographic memory and personal teaching from Takumi himself makes for such a killer driver. Had Kanata been given a more powerful GT car, he'd have absolutely dominated the racers, but that wouldn't be as fun as seeing a skilled racer beat everyone with his humble GT86 wouldn't it? That last scene when Kanata began his qualifying run was epic, once I heard SPITFIRE play, I was wishing there were still 10 more minutes in the episodes. Lovely first season, the visuals, the CG for the cars and obviously the bangin' OSTs are wonderful, and the pacing of the story was also excellent, I've always loved the stages in Initial D where racing is balanced with some RELEVANT slice of life. Maybe a dash of romance subplot here and there but I want to see more episodes on car-tuning! GO KANATA! Beat that smug 17-year-old-loving lolicon out of the 1st place! |

| This wasn't bad but it's no initial d. I also don't know how I want to rate it when it's not a complete season or whatever since the it ends midway through a race. They doing have just had this be 24 episodes and not two seasons |

| I liked the show quite a bit. Initial D is of course still in a league of its own - especially with its legendary soundtrack - but the races in MF Ghost definitely succeeded in hyping me up. And I was actually surprised to see them properly taking their time with races and having them run through mupltiple episodes. Kanata as a character was also really likeable. There were of course a couple of elements I didn't care for like the creepy stalkerish behavior of Aiba and the sleazeball Sawatari, the rather outdated gender stereotypes in general and the constant Japan glazing from Kanata. But all in all I really look forward to continuing with the sequels. |
