| Well, I don't know what was I expecting when I selected this series as "Plan to watch", given the name of the series and by extention of its protagonists. I guess Shy, apart from being well, shy, is also an inexperienced hero, since the girl in the rollercoster ride was still alive and she didn't notice. Well, I didn't notce it either, and I was quite happy when the kid said that his sister was fine. However, I felt it a bit artificial, and tropy (it remainded me of a scene in Evangelion) and its also not hard to compare this series with MHA (I guess that is why I selected it). Anyway, I'm gonna watch it, I remember that Munou na Nana gave me a similiar feeling at the beginning and I ended up likiing it a lot. |

| Nice first episode! I really loved the manga-like shots and the animation during Shy's transformation. I wasn't expecting the "heavy" stuff about the (apparently) failed rescue, but I didn't dislike it. Is the blonde/white-haired boy with suspenders relevant to the overall plot of the anime or him being shown twice was just a coincidence? His creepy smile while watching the fire was kind of suspicious. We'll see... |

| That was okay... Doesn't seem like it's gonna be something massive, but probably something nice to watch. Things I disliked 1) People blaming her on media, instead of the amusement park lol 2)No explanations about Shy's powers, if it's the story about heroes and superpowers, at least explain what her powers are or what are the usual heroes powers.(hope it improves) 3) Didn't understand if she is the only Japanese hero or not. Feels like she is, but there were others that came after her speech at the amusement park. 4) Why do heroes do shows, imagine Japan with all its prefectures, some accident happens daily at multiple places, heroes are already overworked, but then they also have to do these theatrics lol, just makes no sense... Things I liked 1) Atmosphere 2) Visuals 3) Heroes as a job in a society |
| It seems like the superpowers aren't magic or an ability. I get the impression that they come from the bracelets they all wore. Once she transforms, Shy has a jet pack. And that seems to be it. It's limited by how intensely and long she uses it. Limits are good. Flaws create believability and tension. What's interesting is that her emotions seem to effect her ability to transform into a hero. I wonder if her jetpack will become more powerful, if she becomes more confident. |
| This is probably one of those shows people will love to hate on. Yet will turn on every week. I just hope with a shy MC she doesn't slow down the plot or make it her shikt the whole series. Ten points for the creepy introvert smile at the end. 😭 |

Yep, I'm surprised there hasn't been much talking about this weird blonde that appears in both instances. Also yep, it's a depressing yet automatic thing that I feel we do: immediately placing blame on something/somebody when anything goes wrong. In some respects, it's similar to Akane's troubles when she had her first major introduction in Oshi no Ko, as it's detrimental to one's self-esteem and character to the point that it can go down south very harshly. But to put a lighter aspect on this first episode, as with almost everything I'm watching this season, I'll just be watching for pure entertainment value as I do not have high expectations due to my unfamiliarity with its manga source and/or I'm not usually a stickler for details/tropes. Of course, the exception is when the plot gets repetitive or does not have anything to spice it up within my "four episode rule." |

| They just had to have the rollercoaster somehow manage to perfectly stop at the top. At this point I wonder if that was intentional to let you get your guard down and make you think it's a classic cliched superhero saves the day show without any brain or thought. The characters so far all seem quite eccentric, but it's a good first episode. |

| Pretty decent first episode with some suspense and action. I also didn't like how social media was blaming Teru (aka Shy) for not being able to get everyone off the rollercoaster uninjured, I mean she did save 99% of them without injury and ultimately no one died. Plus I found out she's a young girl (14) and recently became a hero, give her a break. I laughed when the Russian hero was introduced as a drunk girl whose probably drinking vodka. She's also popular and helped out Shy so she's cool. Anyways, I'm curious to see where this goes. |

| Wasn’t originally planning to watch this in my seasonal lineup but it peaked my interest so I’m glad I did. I’ve never really been a fan of super hero’s but I really like Teru a lot. This show also has really good animation. Also I’m not gonna pretend like I didn’t see a creepy blonde kid just smiling in certain shots with his eyes covered, who tf was that? I guess we may find out later. Teru could easily become one of my favourite ever anime characters. This show has a lot of potential as well. |
| A mixed bag for me this episode. I loved the shota who actually appreciated the mc for saving him. I was very iffy on the drama aspects, and the plot of blaming heroes. I did not think a flashback was a good idea especially to show an event that happenned 3 minutes prior to occuring. I think this series has a decent chance to improve. The drunk hero was definitely a highlight for looking forward to the other cast members. |

People in social media nitpicking everything and spending their days focusing on every tiny mistake a public figure does is a normal everyday. The show nailed it in that regard. I bet if another hero fucks up in their country, the people in there would be as toxic as the japanese with Shy. | I have only one question. Isn't 3 letter single word for title way too short for Japanese media? Shouldn't it be something like: "In this peaceful era of the Earth I was chosen as Japanese hero but I am way too shy!" |

| Superheroes are supposed to have these perfect images that can millions can count on, but also with the weight of each country on their shoulders in this series, it can be a very heavy burden to carry. For someone who was chosen to do this and who has social anxiety, it was interesting seeing characters in these stories learn and understand what a hero is meant to be and how perfection can't happen all the time and eventually there will be incidents where heroes slip up with someone being injured or lost. Teru could save most but even the smallest of problems would be blamed on her without any care in the world, especially online. Kind of reminds me of sports performances in a way. Players in basketball can have amazing games all the time but the stinker game at a bad time would have them crucified even though they helped their team a lot. Different contexts and weight to situations for sure but just reminded me of that. Now, the idea on paper for this is good. The execution does feel a bit hamfisted and the ending does cause the whole episode to feel a bit anticlimactic and lose some emotional weight as a result so I can't say the actual episode delivered completely but despite the issues, there is some potential there. Teru is... there. I'm indifferent to her for the time being, I will see how much depth or interest her character can present over the coming episodes but for now, I'm just in the 'wait and see' approach with this. Animation was solid, which is a requirement in my head for fun superhero anime. I'm just not sure if this series can remain intriguing or be injected with some fun and personality to keep it engaging since this episode did feel a bit dry at times too. |
| Loved the episode. Now have more reasons to read the manga (have it on PTR for a while). Undeserved low score IMO. One problem with me personally is I can't look at heroes the same way I did as a kid, after seeing "The boys" lol. Competition for #1 spot, the corruption, envy, greed, and heroes come from different nations too! - It's a powder-keg!!! Not to mention politics behind this... All we saw (for now) was a relatively minor backlash in social media regarding heroes. The issue in reality would be MASSIVE; like the importance of your country's hero, limitations, rules etc. But I'm just gonna ruin the fun here. Apparently the story will center more on shyness and social anxiety, rather than the heavy political stuff. |

Move over mid hero, the real superhero anime is here. What a great first episode. The most relatable superhero ever, social anxiety, quiet, cute, sign me up.
I like the fact Shy “failed” to save the girl at the beginning of the episode. The little PTSD spell she had was very natural for a 14 year old who’s thrust into this role. She’s just a kid, but as a lot of responsibility on her shoulders. It’s an important lesson to learn for anyone, you just can’t save everyone.
Russian Hero is so mommy. Nice pep talk she gave to Shy to cheer her up, and then helping her save the mother and child trapped in the burning building. That’s a cool ability she has to be able to travel through portals. Her guidance and advice to Shy is really important at her young age
Another mommy dommy.. unilord gives off Goblin Slayer vibes. Kind of mysterious.. I’m definitely really interested in this world. Almost feels as if everything isn’t as it seems. Maybe some plot twists around the corner?
And would you look at that! Iko survived and is Shy’s seat neighbour. And she’s voiced by Toyama Nao 😍

I know the waifu culture crowd will be taking their pop shots but this isn't even close to MHA in quality. It's pretty good though. Let's see if it has the writing and plot to hang with MHA. With all that said, I like the show too but I rally wish people would stop doing this. I at least waited a season before I started taking pot shots at Bleach due to how good JJK was. |

How long has she been a hero? How inexperienced is she? The story is currently missing something I can't exactly put into words, but which I hope we seen in the following episodes. |

| It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it, is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service. |
