I don’t know why everyone is loving this episode, it gives me the feeling of Opposite Day with how stupid and hole filled the episode was. Good to the author for having such great characters that it doesn’t need any plot but this episode barely had any characterization. The mangas probably better huh?

That sword is OP than Chunchunmaru. Old guy's cutting onions, but for blood to fly.
When someone asks me why I like anime, I'd say Just Because.

Nah wtf how do you even win against that. Just when you think Atsushi and Akutagawa won, this dude literally says nah I want a do-over and erases the fact that he lost. And he did it not once, but TWICE. You can't beat him, you can't run away, what the hell CAN you do then lol. What an episode, and what a nasty cliffhanger.

For me, the cliff hanger didn't bother me at all, CUZ I'M ALREADY FCKIN DISGUSTED WITH THE SWORD. Man i was so hyped up with the fight but shit the time cutting shit ruined my mood.

Yes! Nice to see Akutagawa flashbacks! I missed his archaic and humble "yatsugare"
黒虎絶爪 (Kokko Zessou) - Black Tiger's Supreme Claw.
Ah right, his sword can cut both space and time... I wondered how that would work. He's literally way too OP, how do you write a story with a character like that now lol.
Daaamn that transition into the ED (which is actually the OP)! The credits being as if this is the last episode reminds me of Re:Zero. Now how will Akutagawa get out of that...

I'm absolutely disgusted with the idea of the sword fr. The show didn't explain how he can escape the time paradox. Regardless, it was a good fight, before the time cutting shit goes on the stage.

I have to say...Akutagawa is quite a crafty character. He's able to team up with Atsushi and take advantage of both of their abilities.

Fukuchi is no joke though. I think he's among the most dangerous characters that Atsushi has faced. Even Akutagawa struggled against him although he puts up a really good fight. Quite a thrilling episode imo.  Akutagawa and Atsushi make an unusual duo and what a cliffhanger!

I really don't know why people are hyping up Akutagawa so much and doing like he is a good person. Interesting how fast people forget how he threated Kyoka, is satisfied killing people and wouldn't even blink if the city burns. That's just bullsh*t. Without Dazai's leading him as his chess piece, he would have never ever been able to produce any good results that leads to victory. He is just a fanboy (like obsessed) that almost never learned to grow up in 4 whole seasons (excerpt the last month a bit). Dazai wanted him to learn from Atsushi, but he is such a slow learner sadly (like mentioned before). I mean i can understand that he has short time left and wants to get his approval, but i won't ever like this character just because he is an edgelord. Did he ever thought about Dazai falling if the city falls too? That's what makes no sense to me. Dude, you can't get approval if all are dead, including you and Dazai !!! Also, Atsushi just also saved YOUR ass, so at least thank him once, idiot. He is an interesting villain, but no, never ever a nice person that deserves any good Karma.
The funny thing is: basicly the city was saved 3 times just because Dazai and Atsushi can trust in his obsession what makes him predictable af... that's somehow pretty funny.
As a manga reader, i'm already exited for the reaction of the Akutagawa hyping fans next episode.

Akutagawa is by no means a good person (I mean, neither is Dazai nor most of the Agency), but saying he hasn't grown up in 4 seasons is blatantly false. To begin with, he grew up as an orphan in the slums, watching the worst of society in a strong-eat-the-weak world and working his ass off to be strong enough to survive and protect his sister and friends (who ultimately got all slaughtered). When he was struggling to find a meaning to his existence he was found by Dazai, who at that time was like a Devil in human form and convinced him he'd give his life meaning if he became a strong mafioso, destroyed his self-esteem and conditioned him to seek his approval.

During all the series we've seen him first try to "guide" Kyouka (like Dazai did for him), then REALIZING and admitting his mistake, genuinely being glad for her finding another path, thus giving her closure. This already is far more than Dazai has ever done for him. Akutagawa has shown being empathetic, trying to understand Atsushi, has offered him advice and help in countless occassions despite being someone he's jealous of and initially hated. Even now he's the one actively cooperating with him, and even in the face of death and an opponent far stronger than him, he's able to stand strong, keep a cool head and take his own decisions when Dazai is not around, unlike Atsushi who STILL cowers/freezes in fear and is clueless without someone guiding him (Like Fukuchi said, he's the weak link)

People like Akutagawa because he's a fascinating character, who despite being victim of a harsh environment and suffering unfortunate circumstances (like his terminal illness), is always genuinely trying his best. He's unrelentlessly loyal and honest, and most of all, he's just desperate to find meaning in his life. He fails, learns, grows, and we've seen him throughout all that. It goes beyond just being "evil" or "good". He's a sympathetic anti-hero and one of the best developed characters.

that space/time blade is a pain in the ass and i'm curious to see how they're gonna deal with it
at this point fukuchi is invincible and they have such low chances of winning but ofc, expect the unexpected
ALSO IF AKUTAGAWA DIES I'D KILL FUKUCHI MYSELF!

Wooo that was a crazy episode. Can’t wait to see how they beat this guy.

It will be more fun than a lot of other action shows airing right now, because they need a creative solution to win in a few. They can’t just use brute force.
Looking forward to the rest of the season!

That was interesting. Finally we start to understand why Akutagawa is so obssesed with Dazai. Still not 100% cause he treated him like trash, but oh well.
So, Dazai thought he'd be the first memmber of the next black duo. But... isn't it weird that Atsushi is the second? After all, they're not in the same organiztion. The original black duo was a trump card for the mafia. It can't be the purpose of the new black duo Dazai has enough these days. Does he see them as the duo who saves the town (or world)?
This space-time sword is real headache! Hiow can they overcome it?! They need to surprise him completely so he won't be able to do it (cause the moment he has awareness he can act, but if he never was aware of it in the first place dies in an instand, he shouldn't be able to react. For example, if they set a bomb without his knowledge and he'd die in it).
I know Akutagawa won't die, but damn, watching it...

Okay this is the most OP sword possible lol, going back in time and no matter if he loses time gets rerolled and he wins no matter what... I have no idea how they can defeat him, it just seems impossible without an even more OP power because the book isn't even stronger than that xD

The author really forget Akutagawa was a cold blooded killer who kill a bunch of cops and a woman.

Even until season 5 there is no named character died, just the npc despite the show portrayed the conflict as lethal and dangerous.

That's nonsense, how can you forget about Odasaku??? In Season 3 also Ace died, as one of the executives. Then in Season 1 the hacker friend of Kunikida. Just because they arent the top 10 main characters doesn't mean no one dies.

But i agree with you, Akutagawa is made waaay to soft (and even softer in the manga as in the anime) for threating Kyoka and his surroundings like sh*t this whole time. For me, he didn't make much progress, because when Dazai dies, he would go back to his old self again with no reason anymore. But i like him as an antagonist and "chesspiece" for our win ;)
But we should also keep in mind that Dazai has killed and tortured far more people than Aku, as once the most feared man in whole Yokohama. The rumours said he would even kill his own parents for benefit if he had one. If you saw the REAL scene in S2 with hirotsu at the port from the llght novel you know what i mean. But i think Aku never had the chance to feel "loved" or to "love" something like Dazai in his life to make a change in all those years because no one teached him.

The problem with having an enemy with such an absurdly OP ability that he's basically invincible is that it's going to make any method they use to defeat him feel like complete and utter bullshit. Unless you kill him in an instant, before he has time to swing with the sword and reset time, he's literally unbeatable in combat.

Just as I began to believe the sneak attack had succeeded, and they skillfully sliced off that mfer's arms, the unthinkable happened - the damn sword defied all logic, transcending time itself. What the actual heck? This is some next-level absurdity, folks. Fukuchi's power is just off the charts! He's practically an isekai protagonist with this mind-bending ability. Is Akutagawa's fate sealed? I'm afraid it looks grim; there seems to be no conceivable escape from this dire situation. Not even the brilliant minds of Ranpo and Dazai could have foreseen or planned for such a twist. It's a true testament to the overwhelming odds stacked against them.

Holy moly, that was a one heck of a nasty cliffhanger in the end there! Seems like checkmate for Akutagawa at least for sure, no?

Old man’s way too freakin’ OP, unless Ranpo-san and Dazai-san have set a trap or something, I doubt there’s any way to save the two. Akutagawa being inflicted with an incurable condition though, that was kind of unprotected and random, but okay. Got to love the way how he thought he was gaining the upper hand by keeping the old man on board, Atsushi was being a little too negative. But it all makes sense now, lol.
