I don't hate it, per se, at least nowhere near as much as I hate the two other anime I mentioned, but I don't exactly like it, either. Kaguya-sama is just under 8.5, but that's another anime I didn't like as much as others seem to. |

| On MAL? Let's see... Monogatari second series (and probably more of the Monogatari entries that I haven't gotten to yet). Mob Psycho 100 III. Horribly handled ending for an otherwise fun series. The Divine Tree arc is passable, but the rest isn't that great, sorry. Not the worst anime I've ever watched, but easily a mid 5/10 experience. Chainsaw Man. Glaring plotholes, predictable "twists", character motivations that are dumb and inconsistent at best and flatout make no sense at worst, edgy for edginess's sake without any rhyme or reason... Easily one of the worst anime that I've ever watched. Grave of the Fireflies. The movie succeeded in what it set out to do, but I just didn't like it. Sorry, I guess. :P |

| FMAB is one of the best produced/directed animes because of sales, but it's for one of the most mid-tier fictions of all-time that just borrows most of its shounen tropes. Who knows, maybe the manga was a lot better in ways, but the plot certainly lets the show down. Big reveals don't mean the story is cohesive at all. Whereas AOT has poor lore but good storytelling ability that is far superior. When AOT drops a new truth bomb it's usually huge, not poorly planned and falling to the ground like spaghetti on the wall. The whole arc about homunculi and when they enter the story is a dumb trick that most great shounens would gloss over in the span of a few pages. It's the ultimate fujo show. The truth is pure shoujo is great and pure shounen are great, but they're not very good when mixed because their best elements don't blend well, hence why FMAB is such a let down. Something like the finale would make readers laugh their asses off in a shounen in embarrassment for the author, but since it's got so many shoujo overtones readers let it slide. The whole series goes like this. FMAB gets all the credit in the world for being a shounenized shoujo, but its shounen parts don't work at all. Shoujo is all about reveals, which I can't give much credit to Bros for. Bros would be better as a pure shounen. I don't like any of the elements of shoujo except for a few key parts. It also wasn't influential because nobody ever wanted to blend again. Demon Slayer has proven to be way more popular and Jujutsu Kaisen is similarly better as a pure shounen. DS has shoujo tendencies but it nails its shounen influences perfectly and earns its shoujo. DS is the advanced evolution of FMAB. FMAB attempted some fujo tricks and more women write manga now, so that's good, but it's clear ten years later that a lot of its tricks don't work and the manga isn't a classic or important anymore. The great pure shounens are still superior. Shoujo doesn't make a work more important or classy, it's simply a narrative device. |

| There's nothing rated above a 8.5 I thought was awful, but there where titles that are definitely overrated. Wolf Children - not horrible but painfully mediocre. A very boring SoL where very little of consequence happens. Demon Slayer - I did somewhat enjoy it, but at the end of the day it's a stereotypical action Shonen with nice animation & pretty colors. Howl's Moving Castle - Out of all of Ghibli's big hits it is the most imaginative, but also the one with the most illogical story and least focused in terms plot and message. |

| Just checked the top anime list and there's not a single show, that I've seen, scored over 8.5/10 that I didn't like. I may not agree with the high score for all of them but none that I dislike or dropped. Wait just realised that NGE End of Evangelion film has a score of 8.55/10 and I thought it was awful and scored it a 4/10, so yes there is one. |
