Yes. Just watched ep 1 of this season and I can tell it's going to be more melodrama crap where the characters refuse to properly communicate their feelings in order to drag on the romantic drama.
I miss season 1.

the show is very simple
there's a guy who gets forced by a hot teacher to be in a random club with 1 hot girl and 1 girl with attitude, then they help random high schoolers with school stuff but not homework, dude kinda sacrifices himself and looks bad towards his peers because he's good guy. Those 2 girls fall for him but proceed in doing nothing to catch his attention, back in my day if a girl liked you she would've said: hey, take me to a cute cafe... wanna be my bf... you're cute... I'm into you. But of course, not these chicks. Black hair girl hates her mom and wants to prove that she's hot stuff when she's just a high schooler, she thinks that receiving help from someone is a sin or whatever (lousy attitude), pink hair is cute, has friends, is popular yet still wants to get 8man to be her bf but like I said she doesn't do anything.
Add sexual jokes with main dude's sister and we have the whole story.

Now this season tries to complete the circle, probably dude will end up with one of the girls in the very last scene of the anime, end of story.

Truly a masterpiece

i m bored because it feels like this is going nowhere. Evrything happening is not important at all. They make a big deal about the bal but it s kind of lame. Also the relationships are too weird in this season. It makes not much sense to me

You forgot the sexual tension between 8man and the femboy. And Iroha the manipulative bitch. Great cast of characters here.

I lliked S1 ... if I remember correctly. Took me a bit - because of time gap between the releases - to get into it again ... in S2.

S3 I really had a hard time. And episdoes 1-5 were really on a lower level for me. Starting with the recent 2-3 episodes I like the season 3 a bit better.

I found Yui more interesting at the beginning here. Previous seasons I preferred Yukinon. But she didn't really have focus so far. (This episode it was a bit more.)

Prom thing is boring and Hachiman's development ... well nothing new.

I guess since I am very criticyl with romance and/or schoo shows in general I must have liked this a lot more back then in S1 and S2 when not a lot of other good romance/school shows existed. (I am someone that dropped Toradora.

But in the recent years I have just watched too many other great romance (not really with school but still a lot mor interesting in romance and char development thatn here) ... so this one here might just appear weaker.

(Koi wa Ameagari and High Score Girl have been some great top level stuff in the romance department.)

Exactly this!!! Yes I get it the characters are suffering from their internal conflicts. Nobody needs to have Einstein's IQ to understand this. Everybody has gone through tough times. I know why they can relate to the characters. But that doesn't make the anime that deep. And it's not even that interesting.

I was a huge fan of S1 and S2 but this season is uhhhh .. Don't get me wrong it's good but not even close to half of the quality of the previous seasons.

First of all it's kinda boring, they're wasting too much time on 1 event - aka organizing the prom -. The tone itself became very stiff and the same throughout entire episodes, since there're no events that pop up or whatever, they're just organizing, preparing, so the tone is very tuned down, hence it feels boring.

Second, the characters, what really made me love S1 and S2 were that the side characters were somehow interesting as the main ones as well, the interaction among them were the exciting thing about Oregairu. But now, it feels like a harem-ish anime where the main spot is taken by 8man and the 3 main heroines, neglecting any other student.

There should be some events here and there, some surprises some twists etc .. In order to break down the same stiff tone and attracts the audiences like in S1 and S2. leaving alone that this is supposed to be the "climax" of the story. So yeah, I'm kinda disappointed with this season.

I agree that this season is easily the most underwhelming of the bunch. S1 was super funny and S2 had very solid character moments throughout like humanizing Hayato's clique.

I think why the past seasons shine the most is because most of the conflict came from very familiar situations that you can experience in high school or situations that you find in high school anime. but it's handled in a different matter. Like most of us probably knew a guy like Hayama Hayato who is bound to everyone's expectations, or that you see friendships falling apart because a boy confessed to a girl. And Hikigaya finding his self-worth too.

Mind you, those happened in S2 though. There is a distinct lack of that in S3. For me, the codependency thing has been very much overblown and looking back at it it's pretty out-of-place topic in a high school setting. Not to mention, it has been numerous times that the service club has been dragged into an event -- the setting has kinda become stale.

Overall, this season is just like the last act of some game where you unlocked every weapon possible, completed all the story quests and solved everyone's problems and now you have to defeat god one last time so that they could show you the last cutscene and the credits.

Or it's just me growing up; it has been five years since S2 and I've grown a lot as a person since then. Maybe my taste has changed and that's the only problem here.

They generally left out a lot of details probably to keep the mysteries until the end. The 2nd season ended in a bit of anticipation so it was a bit of disappointment when they started the 3rd season with a depressing atmosphere with little to no comedy.
The pace went up a bit after Hachiman's challenge to Yukino and it's getting better each episode. But some people here just wanted more comedy I guess, which was a huge bonus for the previous seasons but can't really have much room this season because we're about to reach the conclusion with limited number of episodes.
Saying this season is boring is uncalled for. Rather, I think more like this season is just the part 2 of the previous season.

I don't know what the hell is going on anymore. Either it's been so long since the last season that I forgot everything or I'm getting too damn old. That and for some odd reason I confused this shows events for the bunnygirl anime thinking this had a movie prior to the 3rd season.

Think I'm just going to drop this series.

My problem with this series is they are having artificial problems all the time, that they speak and behave like no teenager would do. Some life situations in this show may be relatable but here they only work for sake of convoluted conversations and hightened drama.

I get that there are many cultural differences between japanase and western culture but even that, it still feels like all those characters should just enjoy their high-school life more and the reason why they are not is due to plot developement. Too many plot devices railroading their high-school life. It's cleverly masked by their dialogues but there are still many anime tropes going on (and I'm still bit salty about what Wataru did to Yui - aka giving her love for sake of her best friend). Bit selfishness on their behalf would be only refreshing for this show.

In the end, even when I hate Okada for what she did with the conclusion of Araburu Kisetsu, I believe she still writes more relatable, lifelike and interesting characters than what we are having here.

In my opinion it’s not that boring but it’s nothing special in particular, like a huge majority of the fan base makes it out to be considering the ending is very obvious from the get go so I see no point in the attempts Yui has to win over Hachiman and I’m just mindlessly watching time timer go by to just get it over with.

My thoughts exactly.

Most people says the anime is deep.
In my opinion its deep. Deep about 15 cm in muddy water thats why you can't see it clearly.
Did not read the LN but do they like, skip 80% of the content or something? I mean half of the time characters cry and the reasoning feels like, not there? Do they talk in telepathy or someting?

And honestly most of the high level drama moments in this show just misses me. And that annoys me so much. I should cry with them but I don't. Feels like too much missing information. Feels like I'm not with the characters or their feelings' frequency and just watching them cry meaninglessly half of the time. It does move me sometimes but it feels like it could do much more than that.

Another very serious problem is, I have no idea how 8man feels. I also have no clue when 8man transformed into "I love you Kawasaki." 8man(past season) from the good old fun "I'm the main villain and also everyone is shit execpt Komachi." 8man.
He looks same but suddenly is sociable. Changed too fast/suddenly imo.

Thank you for reading this long wall of text.
Edit: Also should add; I like this anime and will continue to watch. It just feels like it could've been much more.
Edit2: I'am at 5th epi. while writing this.

Studio feel cuts too much yukino, hachiman, hayama and others screen. They mainly focousing yui.Thats why kinda boring till now.
In episode 8 they cut some screen problem in ending
I think they cover with in filler
Oregairu is best but adaption is worst
Because they gave too much screen time to yui then others.
Even they cut hachiman's thinking about his situation

It is also true. The books are just too long to cover in so few episodes. Vol 14 alone has 514 pages and they want to pull it off in 4 episodes. Of course, almost nothing remains of the dialogues and thoughts of the characters. In the previous seasons they still managed to animate the essentials, but in season 3 everything is a little too chaotic. However, books 12 and 13 weren't as great as the rest either.

Unfortunately, Hachiman and Yukino are still portrayed as too normal. So the drama seems artificial. You really should have taken an episode of the time to show Hachiman's depression. With that the viewer would understand better how hard the separation from Yukino is for him and Yui would also be in a different light, but unfortunately they didn't.

they should enjoy their high school life??
oh yeah lets think about it,what is their enjoyable high school life again??
- hikigaya high school life?? ah yeah its really enjoyable isnt it with his situation,"friends" and his personality and problem from the past
- yukino, what is yukino high school life again?? ah yeah she is the "perfect ice queen" that everyone admire but loved?? nah not really,in fact most girl hate her and with her personality too that "everyone hate" she is definitely doesnt have good highschool life,oh yeah what about her family problem too, because she is one of the elite, yeah nah.
- yui,she have an enjoyable "fake" highschool life, but its enjoyable and "normal" right? but she choose to be with the "weird" one which is hikigaya and yukino,so there you go.

the thing is people keep forgetting this is come from novel drama,so its gonna be overdramatic, but the concept itself specially with character and their culture/situation this stuff isnt really "over/too much un-realistic" high school life,except.. if u r a lucky normie in ur highschool so make sense that hayama gang life is the "real" and only highschool life for highschool kid for u.

Throwing a thread like this while watching the 1st or 2nd season, understandable. But throwing it in the final season while it's already gone half way? You either just have to finish it all and complain at once or drop it and forget everything. The people who don't find it boring have already known what'd happen anyway and there are like a few episodes left so who cares.

This season has been a train wreck imo, they've cut out a ton of yukino's development in this season because the animation studio has a love for yui for some reason to the point they cut out yukino scenes to shove in yui scenes, i'm not one to get into the shipping wars but the bias of the studio has gotten way out of hand with this adaptation to the point it's ruining the anime for me.

Yeah, that's up to you.

I prefer anime over manga, and manga over LN, but alot of anime cut important bits from the manga or ln to cut for time or in the case of origaru, what i said above, that said if a anime is done right, i much prefer anime over manga or LN, season 1 of one punch man for example.
