Upon rereading my review, I'll admit that certain parts of it may come off as pretentious, namely this line.
"perhaps you have a somewhat nuanced view or sense of appreciation for higher-level stories" Of course, the goal of the review wasn't to suck myself off with a pinky extended from a shallow poured cup of tea, my objective in writing was to establish that I felt that this anime wasn't for everyone. 6 episodes in, Frieren felt more like a Shakespearean play than a traditional anime (it has since broadened its appeal, but I digress), which may have not resonated well with audiences that find that sort of thing boring. I found this through personal experience with some of my friends, as some people who took me up on my recommendation told me that they found the series boring. I suppose I could've marked my review as "recommended", but I felt like I wanted to use the new review system to convey how I really felt about the series.
Oh yeah, really enjoying HxH so far! Yorknew arc is definitely an example of an amazing arc through and through.
