I loved E7, great story, memorable characters and an OST to die for. I hope they do a good job with this and it doesn't turn out like the garbage that E7 AO was. |

Look at how Renton looks in the poster.@ECW28 to me new ending doesn't mean something that happened a few years later. I call that a sequel. Because for me, in the trailer, she is closer to her AO look than her E7 look. Anyway. More than erasing Ao or not, that's what bother me. Now, yeah, you're right, I didn't think at the idea they could tell the same story, but with a bit older characters. |

I love the aspect that their showing the prequel and maybe the retelling of the main series might be good too but my main concern is the sequel part. I did not like ao as it made me feel all their effort put into the original series was for not. So when they go to that interlude between Ao and eureka seven I am bit worried. Besides that I loved the original series. |

Everything else, which includes this discussion about how it's possible it could go a few years later, is just speculation from fans like us. Like I said though, only concrete into is prequel+retelling with an original ending.ECW28 said: Ok, In that case, I have a problem with their definition of new end. I know alot of people think it's just a "cash grab", but I don't see it as such at all. Cash grabs are when they release a movie one year later which is basically 95% recap. Same as with the Evangelion series, I think this too will be superb.Seeing an old classic re animated with todays technologies and styles, gods below, their are a lot of series which I think could do with one of these movie remakes. Not saying that either Evangelion or E7 had bad animation to begin with, for their time, I believe they are top notch. But fact is, every animation worth it's salt gets a rewatch or 2 over the years, why not rewatch it with 2017s technologies? I personally think these remakes are a a top idea and after the hype I felt for AO, then the absolute let down I felt not long after, a prequal and remake sounds just about perfect for the franchise! Well Played. |

Yeah, I hope that the "new ending" isn't the original bad ending they had planned. I'm on the fence about that one. I would love if it just added onto the ending after the original series, and I hope that was what they meant. I also hope it isn't some Bull that ties into AO. I'm thinking, that this might also be a refresher? A way to bring new fans into the fold? I really wish they'd just toss E7AO out of the main storyline. And make it an AU spin-off. |

If anything the outfit Eureka is wearing at the ending of the trailer possible ties into the after the original series I think. It kinda leans towards the crap AO future setting. Also it's a bit concerning that she's covered in blood wearing the Blue uniform opposed to the black/grey one. |

Well, despite the fact that the last two times they tried to do something with this show it kind of sucked, this trailer can't help but get me hyped as s**t! Plus they're going to be visiting scenes that were never shown in the original, so it looks like there's enough new stuff to justify its existence. I must say, I'm cautiously optimistic. :) |

Don't worry, guys. I live in Japan, so I'll make sure to destroy the film before it's released. We don't need more Eureka in our lives. |

Someone needs to change these movies from being sequels to Eureka Seven, to being alternative versions. They are literally going to retell the events of the original story with a new ending. If that doesn't scream alternative version, I don't know what does. |

I'm so excited for this! Even though it's going to be more of prequel+recap adaption, its success could eventually lead to a sequel and the thought of that makes me so delighted. Really glad to see this, as it came out of the blue, and it's still my favorite anime up to date. Hope it works out well! |

Was really hoping for a true sequel to the original series, but perhaps the success of this could warrant the creation of such a sequel. Excited! We all know that FUNIMATION has the rights to this film plus I know they'll license the next two movies regardless. I think that the U.S. Theatrical run will limited with Subbed showings as well as Dubbed showings (if they're willing to do so) |

@tsubasalover I know you are in the news team but since you wrote something here: A writer from Anime-NOW has made a report about the first movie and gives here the content of said movie: What’s New and What’s Not in Eureka Seven Hi-Evolution I This is indeed a prologue and a summary/reedit of certain episodes with a very few added scenes, not a sequel. |

Yeah it was seriously bad. It's pretty much Stardriver the movie, but with a longer intro sequence and weird flashback cuts in the story. |

The first fifteen minutes or so that were told from Adroc's perspective were amazing. Seriously had me thinking it was going to be a 10 / 10 movie. But then the flashbacks started... I think I understand what the director was *trying* to do - trying to string scenes together that were related so that the storyline flowed better as a movie. Maybe make it easier to understand if you hadn't watched the show since it aired? But it didn't work at all - his reliance on constant flashbacks / flash forwards was just really annoying. It's smacks of lazy storytelling, and it's a damn shame considering how good the original was. I'm not sure if you all stayed for the preview or the interview after the credits, but the next movie seems like it might be a real departure from the source material. The director said something to the effect that the first movie would make more sense in the context of the sequels. I don't know how that could be the case, but I'd like to give him the benefit of the doubt if for no other reason than that I don't want this series to end like this. |

Since this is a spin-off alternative whatever, I don't know. Reboot apparently. Should I rewatch the original or can I attempt to watch this right away since almost 11 years of first watching it? It doesn't seem worth it considering its not a direct sequel to the left wanting ending. As great as it was, it's kinda long and takes a while till it becomes great from what I remember. I guess I could watch some kind of recap of the original to try to have a sense of memory, then eventually binge these movies, which I feel like will be disappointing. Ao I dropped since it was so boring. I didn't even get to the "good parts" but from the sound of it its a mess from how they created plot holes or whatever. Regardless, it already doesn't make sense from the start by neglecting the end of the original. Anyway. Disappointing to realize late that this is a reboot and not a direct sequel to the original. |
