guys can you clear something to me ..
in the last chapter riko said "who thought that yamada's kiss would bring back shiraishi's memories"

does that mean in the graduation ceremony yamada kissed shiraishi and she remembered what all happened since she met yamada ?!

i hope this is the explanation iam looking for :)

Not the best harem out there but at least it's better than yankee-kun to megane-chan. The "kiss" plot device was interesting but it became meaningless later on. I noticed some plot holes in the story.

This last arc was rushed and it definitely gives me the impression that the author was told to wrap up the series by his editor. We go from the beginning of another amnesia plot to an ending, including two epilogue chapters, in less than 10 chapters. Even though the series had been dragged out by this point I still find it disappointing that it ended somewhat abruptly. Unfortunately a lot of manga series seem to suffer a similar fate.

Oh I'm glad then. I thought I'm the only one who feels this manga is sketchy, with many unanswered, stupid plotholes. When I read the 2nd last chapter and said 'ending next week' I felt like it was so abrupt, so many questions left unanswered. Only thing is well, glad it's a 'nice ending' and I'm not the only one. Still, SKETCHY.

Still so eager to know about the previous school organization leader, y'know, that glasses female, and boi oh boi it seems I have no choice but being curious until dying.

Anyone thinking this is not only sketchy, but the ending is rushed & abrupt too? I dunno, taking Bleach for example, Bleach has plotholes left that can't be compared to this but I still think Bleach decent tho. The later part of this manga just such a let down to me.

Aw! I mean....this works. It was a great manga. Started really strong, and ended before it got too boring (although that last stretch was a bit much) But overall I really enjoyed it.

I like the ending of this. Unlike the other mangas like the same genre they did not include any special chapter or last chapter which what happen to them in the future .

9/10 . I enjoyed this series.

I think this explains your question
(much like what stark said on the world god only knows last chapter disccussion)

those are 3 side story chapters that are included in the manga's chapter count

Started with potential but rushed and convenient ending with so many loose ends, 5/10. At least it was somewhat fun to read although it dragged on with repeated formula.

So...where/how did Yamada get his copy ability in the first place? or did I miss anything?

Nope you didn't, it was never explained. But look everyone is happy with a nice convenient happy ending, who cares about the plot amirite. Heck there were many loose ends like the original witch thing was never clarified properly, witch killers but who cares lol.

Rushed? No. Personally it would have ended perfectly with just 7 wiccans a short manga series. 21 witches and pointless use of amnesia to erase butthurt from various characters is lame as hell.

It was a nice ending but I'm not really happy about it. When I only started reading I liked Shiraishi a lot and her pairing with Yamada was one of my favs, but at one moment it really became kind of boring. Shiraishi as character got almost no development the whole time except the last twist with initial witch but it felt almost forced and at this point I actually got disappointed because this explanation seemed to me as though Yamada loved Shiraishi only because she wished so. Oh well, it was still enjoyable manga and even after 100+ chapters it had a lot of fun moments. It could have been better without constantly repeating scenario but I guess it was saved by diverse and likable characters.

Have read it in 3 days. Ending is way too rushed with a 10 year skip, also we didn't learn anything about the original witch and the power of yamada. That might be like that because in one chapter, this one or the chapter that got out before this, it's said that everything happened at the school was something unreal, so everything about this witch thing might be non existent, but then what's the deal writing such a manga then? Powers can be explained with real life personality traits like the charm works when you are somewhat beautiful, but body switching ? Seeing the future ?! Only reason I gave it a 8 because I'm a sucker for happy endings. It should've ended at chapter 90.

well, that's good ending. unlike Nisekoi.

and as for unanswered things, here's my theory
- the school have unique anomaly, if the president choose someone to be the original witch, after the original witch made a contract with the school through student council president, the other witch will start appearing as long as the original witch still enrolled in there.
- if the person who has been considered as the original witch doesn't made a contract, there wouldn't any witch out there. the original witch is the key.
- the original witch can't be choosen randomly, there's some condition they should meet and the person should have an "essence", maybe, just maybe they have magical power or something.
- the lost memories started to come back once they graduate.
- the student council president before Yamazaki triggered the witch powers by made a contract with shiraishi just for fun. she's a genius after all.
- yamada copy power comes from shiraishi, as well as Tamaki and Ushio. and as I stated before, Shiraishi is the key to other powers.

that's it, my only theory I can think of for unanswered things.

I really enjoyed it, started ordinarily and it looked like it would be like any regular rom-com but the story went places i didn't expect and i was quite impressed, it stumbles in some places and everything after the time skip was meh, but plenty to enjoy before.

It was fun, even if after the first arc It became too repetitive. The ending was satisfying, but the other girls paired with the previously rejected guys felt a bit forced. I liked the reveal that was Shiraishi that fell for Yamada from the beginning and not the other way around.

The whole "study abroad" arc was painful. So did she make the whole "I will do what you do" talk a lie to comfort Yamada? Or to encourage him?

Then she suddenly decides to study abroad and leave him behind for years?
It's not like she couldn't have studied there with im and get into a japanese bank.

And then that deal with the student council. What was the point of the memories being erased when they gradually came back after graduation anyways?

Satisfying ending, but there are lot of untied ends, felt like the author was trying to do to many things and kinda lost the plot a bit.

What a long series this was, and I m seeing here alot of discording opinions, people saying they didnt want it go proceed after the first arc, around chapters 90's.
Glad it did, it was an enjoyable first arc, and while the plot got worst afterwords, I do think the manga picked up alot around chapters 130-150 and since then I had alot of fun reading, mostly binge reading.
Came to really enjoy the characters, I was never bored honestly, and plot took its rightful time to expand and slowly give us more details, like what happened to everyone's memories, sure there are a few plotholes, mentionated below, but for the most part I feel that my low expectations were far surpassed considering how light and vulgar Yamada's was at first and keep doing till the end. It was a nice kind of vulgar, it was never disgusting, even seeing all that yaoi fanservice, this is one of the few manga, that really made me laugh and smile, during all the teasing and comedy scenes.
I imagine the mangaka being someone that is very easy going and cheerfull, if not I would be surprised, even most chapter covers are just funny or interesting to see.

Didnt come out with a personal favorite character, despite Yamada being a bro, it is seeing everyone interacting and just being themselves that sold it for me, and then there were quite a few surprising and powerfully executed scenes, some where rather serious, others rather sad but in total I liked the balance of comedy, action, romance and drama.
Might sound weirds, but I m sure I wont forget some of the attempts of either Miyamura or Itou getting their fill of Yamada's lips.
Odagiri was a cool girl too, it was good to see her ending on a happy note, forgetting MC and going with Ushio, it was a rather large cast and I do feel most of them had their spotlight, some arcs focused on Yamada and a different group of characters from the earlier ones, or the most recuring ones at least, it made things fresh.
Redemption for characters like Tamaki was really sweet, see how he was at the start and were he ended.. Yuri was one of the few I never came to like, ever, fuck him.
Noa was one of my fav girls, what a clingly adorable girl, she just wants some senpai love~~
Rika was cute and all, but I hope old Kaichou ends with Leona someday... I needed more of characters like Nancy though, she didnt show much after 150's, liked her spunk alot.

In the end was most standed from Yamada's for me was Shiraishi x Yamada, the confession happens early on, sure you can argue shit got reseted a few times, and not much progress was seen (as in getting more intimate and steamy~~), but this has to be one of the better handled romances ever.
It was genuine, slow but built up and this ending is a massive payoff, even if a bit rushed.

Did we ever find out how and why Yamada got the copy power?

No we didn't the author gave a rushed ending and it showed it's plot holes and also the author stretched the manga too long.

The only real plothole I could find, which you can explain that could have happened due to Shiriashi's wish to be with Yamada and being the original witch and all.
Also Takuma real personality never appeared again after that, which was for the better since I did enjoy his "fake" much more.

Many stories stand strong and fail in the conclusion, the biggest shame is still to this day IMO Monster manga, a masterpiece, yet that horrible ending...
Yamada's far from being as brilliant and polished still had a really strong going and didnt falter not even during the end, which just gives it that final touch, the feeling of pure satisfaction you get after reading such a long story and getting the final conclusive reward!

8.7/10 = 9

It would be great if you could have more manga like this, honest, playful, silly, mischevious, original and with a HUGE heart to share with its readers.

What a mediocre ending.

So many questions unanswered and all there is to it is "it's magic!". A shame since it had a strong start and the characters are mostly quite likeable and solid, though most characters introduced after the first 7 Witches arc are quite forgetable.

Seemed like the author just wrote whatever the hell came to mind with each chapter since then, and one new element after the other just casually got introduced without being particularly explored.

this should have ended after the first ceremony but i guess they needed to drag it out for the whole 3 school years ,

i would say that was a stratifying ending despite the many loose threads and unanswered questions

the manga is only 243 chapters why does MAL have it as 246

I finally able to gather some time to finish the manga and the TV as well. This series always hold a special place in my heart. Even though the plot point does get very messy and repetitive at some point and certain plot hole didn't given enough explanation. BUT at least we have gotten a good closure to the series.

Never thought that I will be re-reading the seven witches after stopping way back about ch 136 cause it was still publishing. I was really hestitating to read back as I didnt like the main ship female mc kissing other people even though it was for the powers but I still gave it a shot and glad all along was between the two mcs from the start to the end and omg the ending.

Even though along the way I grew to love some of the characters that had feelings for yamada but I just cant help but ship him and shiraishi. There are many unexplained situations, but stayed for the ending, couldnt ask for more. Thank you for the series!!

I wouldn't really call it a review, at least it is not trying to follow a format of one, you are supposed to share your thoughts here after all, and depending of the series sometimes you feel like you have a lot to say, and want to say it.

That can either be good or bad, it was for the better here.
If you have only seen the anime, then you really should continue with the manga, the ending deserves to be fully experienced, besides, it was a great ride for me, up to the ending.

Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches ❌
A One Thousand and One Nights story ✅

Destiny and stuff, I lost my memories come save me, you lost your memories wait I'll save you, endlessly repeated scenarios about memories and powers, a lot of holes in the story, and last but not least the rushed and horrible end (last 3–4 chapters).

My beloved Nene got married to a nobody no-one-knows guy out of nowhere (it can't be more horrible than that), why how when where, no one knows (idgas about this Q&A corner) and nothing about how she overcame her feelings for him, well Yamada didn't deserve such an angel in the first place, so who cares.

Seems Shiraishi got her memories back (for the 1000th time in this manga), lol. Using the same clichés over and over again like "I am not boring!!" is really hilarious lol, the plot became fragile and flabby, and you can expect what's coming next cuz of these clichés.

I stopped reading this manga for over 8 months cuz of these clichés and memories thing, simply I couldn't accept how the story turned out to this, but now I said let's end this, it seems it's even worse than before.

Ok, it is what it is, and my only regret was reading the manga after finishing the anime. At least I managed to finish it somehow, finally.

What I consider a small consolation is that the adult Nene is really gorgeous (ofc she'd be).

Anyway, I can confirm one thing, Nene is the best girl in this manga, period.
