They're cool little items(I'm more of a fan of Play Arts Kai's superhero figures). Lots of them are well crafted with fine details, but I think all of us on this post can agree that they all cost an arm and a leg. So I guess their worth is in the eye of the beholder

I have a small collection, maybe around 38~45 (somewhere there :P). Yea they are kinda expensive, but it is not a waste of money. Like any other collectibles where people spend their money on. Everyone has something to collect so this is quite normal, a hobby.
I like to put them to display and sometimes show to friends. Maybe I could have invested the money elsewhere for sure, but meh, I like this so why not ^^
I'm feeling thank you

It's a cool hobby to have. They can be expensive though. I don't own any because of the price and I wouldn't be able to buy just the one.

Absolutely adore them! I really like looking up from my desk after hours of hard work and seeing my favorite characters posing there, it just sort of makes me smile! But to each their own, I guess, I just think they are pretty nifty.

(I have a Joseph Joestar, Dio Brando, Gilgamesh (F/Z), Archer (F/SN), Shinji Ikari, Ryoji Kaji, Portgas D. Ace, and five miniature Char Aznables that were sold in a set.)

I have six figurines and I don't regret purchasing them. But yes, they can be quite pricey. It all depends on whether you find collecting them worth it or not.

I'm not interested in fixed-pose figures, but I do have a few action figures (mostly figmas, figuarts and chogokins). Then again, I'd been collecting higher-end action figures of non-anime characters for years before I'd even started watching anime, so anime action figures were just an extension of the hobby.

I don't have a problem with it or those who collect. It might be nice to own a figure or two myself but I probably wouldn't go for a large collection.

If you like collecting go for it! It's a pricey hobby but if you think its a waste of money then it isn't for you to start collecting. Just like many other hobbies that involve spending money, it isn't a waste of money if you actually enjoy collecting. I collect Miku figures/nendoroids myself. It's fun to look at my collection or mess around with the nendoroids from time to time.

Want to but it is my least priority thing to buy. Just don't buy too many or most will just be there to collect dust.

A waste of money, coulda spent it on something else that you will enjoy in the longer run.

But you get to keep the figure forever and unless you do something stupid with it you could enjoy them for quite awhile.

Also, consider the following....eventually the figure stops selling...and if it becomes hard to buy due to it being out of stock, it sometimes gains value.

There are some figures, that due to their out of stock or very low inventory are worth more than what they were originally worth when they came out.

Sometimes many times more in value.

Regardless, collecting figures is definitely not for everyone and they're usually not cheap so...yeah...

Pretty much this, in my eyes they are useless. No offense to anyone who collects, just my personal thoughts.

Not a problem if you find a figure of a character you like for cheap, but if you're one of those crazies who buy 5 inch figures for 80 dollars overseas you're not right in the head

I like figures, but in the end, it is pretty pointless. I have 3 "real" figures and two Pop! Vinyl figures. I don't think I would like to buy anime, though, I don't really see the point in buying anime. I just like having decorations in my room, I hate having a boring room. I just like to have things to look at in my room.

For me there is no point in buying them for myself because I have no room on my shelf to put them. They are also basically just ornaments so there is no use for them outside that . Anime DVD's, manga to me are more useful merchandise. I do think this Belldandy figurine looks nice although I wouldn't buy it.

I don't own one. If someday I want to spend money in something related to anime then I would buy anime DVDs or my favorite manga.

I think they're cool, and I plan to get some. But I think that the ones that are around $300 are a waste of money.

But I'll probably buy some of those regardless since they're cooler.

I find them super expensive and kind of pointless. Some of them have weird looking faces, not resembling the original character at all. The only figures I would like to have ( but I'll probably never buy them ) are these :

Don't talk to me about character development if Kaizuka Inaho or Slaine Troyard are in your favorites.

I consider myself a collector and I adore figures. I think what turns most people off is the price. The thing is they're usually not as expensive as you think(some definitely are in that higher price range, but there's also quite a bit in a more affordable range too) It's all about knowing where to look. If you have no knowledge on figures at all, yeah it seems like a ridiculous hobby. That's what I thought at first too. Once you know more about it, the better. For any figure newbies out there looking to get into it, but don't know where to start message me as I would be happy to help anyone interested in the hobby! Or if you're looking for places to get figures cheap I can help out with that too lol. Myfigurecollection.net is a great site and full of other collectors as well.

Didn't think I would get any... Until I visited Japan. Came home with 4 in my suitcase lol. Probably the most expensive decision I ever made. Once I started collecting I couldn't help but keep thinking how nice another would look next to them. I end up having just as much fun doing research and looking for good deals and searching for good quality figures as actually owning them, so searching is half the fun for me.

Figurines are nice if you're building a collection of your favorite anime, i prefer other merch such as art books though.

I have a handful, and i have to say after having bought them they are an entire waste of money with no true purpose Dx. I don't plan to buy anymore with very few exceptions, i really like nenodroids and will probably continue to pick up a couple here and their if i really like the character or the seasonal Hatsune Miku ones (sakura & Yuki). Tbh though i don't even know why i'll bother getting those as they literally just sit there collecting dust lol.

I collect figures, I have 22 cute girls now.
Once you start you can`t stop buying these little goddesses.
You can see them here: http://myfigurecollection.net/profile/Raylexx

No matter what your parents or other people think, you should buy it if you want it.

I'd rather collect imported BDs. I've done that before, but it got out of hand and I had to stop. When I get my own apartment (more space) and get a job, I might start again though.

Figures are just so... Impractical to store, and not that appealing to me. Well, sure there are some nice ones but, if I was that obsessed with a certain character I think I'd just prefer to have it in 2D in artbooks or posters/paintings/... I guess having a few wouldn't hurt, but meh. Can't collect now anyway, any collecting has to wait atleast 3,5 years or so until I finish uni and move from home.
