| Having to watch both sub and dub, the voices definitely make such a huge difference. Many characters would just not be the same at all with different voices. Imagine a world without - - Monica Rial - Kugimiya Rie - Hilary Haag - Micah Solusod - Mela Lee - Sugita Tomokazu - Patrick Seitz - David Matranga - Emily Neves - Tamura Yukari Etc. I could go on for days, believe me, but you get the point. |

| For girls, the first is the boobs/hips/ass. Especially since flat girls all tend to look 10 years old, but also because I like my girls big and seeing an anime girl with tummy folds (think Maken Ki! season 2) or with some spillage out of her tightass outfit is a godsend. Then it's all about the personality. Basically if a girl is big, loud, gusty and punches at least one person during the show's run then she's on my waifu list. Revy, Haymuts Meseta, Satsuki Kiryuin... All hot babes. Another insta-babe is any ojou-sama trope. The type that does that laugh and has big blonde ringlets. Ayame Minamikujo from Gin no Saji and Nanami Kiryuu from Utena are my tops here. Guys is a lil different... First of all, he HAS to be muscular. There's almost no way around this. He'd have to be amazing to get past the muscular thing, my god. Bishie guys genuinely creep me out, I can't get behind it. The main clincher is the personality, though. My god am I weak for that bad boy trope from the early 90s of dorky delinquent with a pompadour (I adore pompadours too, damn) that looks like a thug but actually has a heart of gold and would protect you and cherish you forever. I've had friend refer to my taste in guys as being "Is he a jerk? Check." but I just... love bad boys... BUT THEN THERE'S THE VOICE. I couldn't give two shits about Japanese voices unless they're bad and it's offputting but a guy voiced by J. Michael Tatum? Patrick Seitz? Steven Blum? Like, would the Count of the Monte Cristo from Gankutsuou have been half as hot if he wasn't voiced by Jamieson Price, the manly deep voiced god that also gave us the hunky beast that is Fate Zero's Rider? No, he would not. |
