Such as pacing, the manga improves it and keeps the reader invested while the light novel waxes in wanes in its pacing. I also remember in the manga Shizue flashbacked to her old village, we get this tidbit of a tragic backstory here, it was early on in the manga almost soon after meeting her. But this information wasn't presented in the light novel. Stuff like that. Sorry about the confusion, I use "author+artist" as nomenclature for the "who came up with the concept and created the franchise". I don't believe it should since ep 15 was bundled with the manga. We have similar examples of items being split like that: Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai (1 OVA by itself, 1 OVA bundled with the light novel) Hakuouki's franchise (1 OVA that was fan disc item, another OVA that was by itself with multiple eps/releases, 1 OVA that was bundled with a video game) and we even do the same for Specials like: A-Channel (1 set of Specials that was bundled with the original DVD/BD's of the show, 1 set of Specials that was bundled with the BD Box Set of the show 6 yrs later) I believe MAL does this because there is quite the divide in purchasing these items. Like the ones bundled with manga/LNs are purchased at book stores and on book retailer site sections. And they aren't available for rent from legal online Japanese streaming companies like Gyao nor from physical nationwide stores like Tsutaya (rentals are how we get the vast majority of BD/DVD rips on torrent sites since nobody wants to pay $200 for a 12 ep anime). Some of them are never included on BD Box Sets at later dates. (And English licensed companies rarely obtain them either as it's not part of the packaged deal.) I assume it's the way the contract between the publisher and studio was created for these unique items. I assume the benefit for MAL to split them this way is that if something never gets ripped, people don't have an incomplete entry stuck as 1/2 or 4/5 because 1 disc from somewhere else wasn't obtained. |

But on ep 11 it had a break because another anime (Coffy Campus Life) was shown instead. So there are only 11 episodes of this Taka no Tsume season. This break is mentioned in the 3rd paragraph on wikipedia. And I was able to confirm it myself. I got episode 11 and it is entirely Coffy's material while the episode 10 before it was 50/50 between the two shows. |
