I've really enjoyed how they've handled this whole arc, so far season 2 is without doubt much better than season 1.

It'll be interesting to see how they deal with the Caliber story, they completely skipped the Jotenheim section from the ALO arc and that's integral to setting up Caliber.

I guess flashbacks during the story. We have whole 3 episodes for Caliber after all.

What drives me nuts is how the heart monitor conveniently protected Kirito from the lethal injection. And how the scene with the bullies seemed kind of out of place. I'm not hating the episode, I thought it was OK. I just hate the direction this second season is going...

Did the anime just skip that Sinon knows Kirito has a gf and in this ep realizes it's Asuna???Nitpicking aside,c'mon Kirito you got the element of surprise and got a knee on his face and he still overpowered you??He's also a NEET like you :)
Anyway aside from some nitpicking aok ep and arc :) Now getting hyped for Asuna's turn in MR :)

So the Phantom Bullet arc is over, I think over all it was okay adapted. Just there were way oo many ass-shots and some things that gave me autism (like in this episode the radio, Sinon throw it and then it is on top of the table again..) but it was enjoyable. Caliber incoming, all hail KittySinon

Actually, i've read a few times that Kirito says "nakama" which could mean "comrade/ally" so its ok.

Think about it.
Kirito: "That's my friend Liz and that's my wife Asuna."
Sinon: "Wtf?"

Though I agree friend was an odd choice of a word.

I guess the only glopping Kirito got out of this arc was on his chest.

Decent end to GGO though. Not sure about whats about to come though, since I hate Asuna and its going to be entirely focused on her.

Its the least trigger one especially since then Asuna wanted to be friends to Sinnon too. Its all to softent the triggering experience that will come with postal lady right after.

I'm not sure if there's any difference to how it was told in the LN, but in my impression it never felt like Kirito and Asuna were comfortable about showing people that they are a lovey-dovey couple. I also remember them being easily embarrassed when people bring it up or tease them about it. I won't find it odd that there is some established mutual understanding to not mention they are in a relationship unless necessary. In any case, I find it much easier to believe than Asuna getting angry over insecurities about being referred to as just another friend after what they have been through. Then again what do I know about woman... lol

Why a waste? You pretty much expected what we'd get when they set it up as a "Debriefing" episode, no?

That said, is it bad if I actually found the 14.5 OP sequence better than the Usual one?
More action and much more fun overall.

WTF, Kirito introduces Asuna as his "friend"?! And why wasn't Asuna at Sinon's apartment with Kirito? She was at the hospital when he logged off... I was almost happy for a while when Kirito got (not) injected. Not that I want him to die, but to be hospitalized for a bit... This nonsense is why I can't give this anime more than a 6.

There is a reason why Kirito introduced Asuna as his "friend", and it has to do with Asuna, not Kirito. He is merely supporting her. This will become clearer in Mother Rosario, but it was hinted at in the first episode.

As for her going with him, Kirito didn't have a lot of time to explain things, Asuna trusted Kirito to do the right thing (as he rode over on his motorcycle) and didn't want to get in the way (which in the real world she would have).

I still don't see how people can say this arc was any better then season 1.

It was the same cringe worthy writing where Kirito-kun is literally the only person that can save the day by being perfect while adding yet another girl that only he can save (once again....cos he's just so perfect) to his harem *ass shot*

Sinon could.......could have been a good character however once she got within 10 meters of Kirito-kun she became utterly useless in every regard and needed him to either tell her what to do or save her from everything before becoming yet another girl for his harem. She's just as bad as all the other useless women in this series *ass shot*

Okay, you're an idiot who completely managed to misunderstand this entire arc

Correct, and also that westerners do not understand anything about Japanese culture, particular as it relates to the eldest or only child and in particular to children of rich families. This was made clear LAST season, so there is no need to spoil it, but I do wish if people are going to watch Japanese animation (or Chinese cartoons for that matter), that they could bothered to learn just a little bit about the culture of the shows they are watching before spouting off about how stupid things are.

Asuna is old news. Frankly I'm glad Kirito is moving on to a new girl each season (or should I say arc *cough* his sister *cough*). Because who honestly cares about this cheesy romance? SAO has some of the worst romance in existence. I'd much rather have the fanservice and ass-shots of new girls.

So far for me:

1. GGO
2. 1st season 2nd arc forgot name
3. SAO

Have you ever seen a comedy harem anime like EVER!?

There's complete shit like KANOKON out there where the main girl likes the MC "because he smells good."

So I mean.....don't even. Romance is the main reason I watch anime. You're so arguing with the wrong person. XD

but this is one point that is fact.

It's your OPINION. Don't act pretentious. >_>

Rude. I most certainly have and KiriAsu is fine. It's not the best but far from the worst. Besides, it took TWO YEARS for them to get together!! Yet we get shows where girls/guys fling themselves at each other after the first day.

Don't gimme that crap. If they're "the worst you've seen", you must have watched like five anime.....

lol. Have you yourself seen harem anime? The harem genre is when a guy gets surrounded by girls; it has nothing do with romance. And even if it's a harem AND romance anime, than it's still more realistic than Kirito + Asuna development most of the time. And my fav anime is romance too.

Be it 2 or 10 years has nothing to do to whether it's a good romance if they didn't explained it well. I could have 5 years full of twist romance with my bf, but to people who didn't know about it, we just another couple.

Back to the topic, I don't remember the novel being this chessy and (sorry) stupid, I remember quite liking it back then, but this adaptation is just bad in my opinion. They should make it better and stop adding unnecessary fanservice every now and then and please stop cutting some important scene, it's not like anyone read the novel.

Probably because Kirito and Asuna are hugely passionate about each other, even though the development simply wasn't there.

Most romance comedy's don't take their romances seriously. That's why they are called romantic comedies, it's meant for enjoyment rather than any realism.

I've always thought it would have been more believable for Kirito and Asuna to be girlfriend and boyfriend prior to actually getting stuck in SAO. Would have saved the harem fodder and would have put more focus on their relationship throughout the whole series rather than just abruptly getting them together with no real build up to it.

Though Kirito x Asuna is a feel good couple, so I can understand why people like it. Two attractive people with very minimal issues with each other. Boring but feel goody so I guess that's why people like it.

The development is certainly more subtle compared to other anime but it is there. You just have to watch closely. I thought it was evident that they cared about each other a lot. If you were shocked that they got together you either weren't paying attention or all the hints just flew over your head. :p

Which wouldn't be hard for me to accept....as some people didn't even understand that

Please, people read the legendary 16.5 and watch eps 10, I read all of series available be it the main series, spin-off or you name it, I watch all of the series be it the main series, OVA, recap, debriefing or you name it, but still huge hints available to explain their development only lies within SAO Progressive. But we are talking about the development within the anime realm here, so it's void most of the time, and lack many believable development, yes it is THERE but so does Lizz, Sachi, Suguha and many other's. And no, telling people to read the novels to understand doesn't make the anime looks better, it's just shows how bad is in the first place.

There is subtlety about that they have some curiousity about each other and how they came to like each other yes. But there isn't subtlety about how they became so hugely passionate about each other, that's just completely out of the blue. The problem isn't really the fact they got together, but the fact that they come off too strongly about each other once they are together. Plus regardless, they lack development and screen time to really pull this off believably (unlike say, white album 2 which was both subtle and believable with its development of the heavy romance).

The sex scene also once again, would be fine, but came about far too quickly.

The events that occured in episode 10 were very traumatic for both of them and trauma brings people together. The two sought for comfort in each other and began to cling to each other, physically and emotionally because that was their only source of reassurance. It made total sense to me. I don't care if you disagree. We're so off-topic anyway. I'm done.

And no, telling people to read the novels to understand doesn't make the anime looks better, it's just shows how bad is in the first place.

I watched the anime and read the first novel and still like the anime just fine.
