| Escanor was the reason i decided to watch this anime, now he is gone. Beautiful and satisfying end of a unique character aka sun god. RIP.. |
| RIP Escanor the best character in the whole show, he carried s2, s3 and s4 on his back. Seeing his backstory in this season and also seeing him get a kiss from Merlin was a treat, probably the only treat in s4 if I'm being honest. Even if she doesn't love him back, their kiss and her decision to carry a scar on her face to remember him in order to bid him farewell was very emotional. Like she said, if they met earlier things would've been different. Maybe she loves someone else or will be able to find someone she'll come to love. Escanor said he thinks she's lonely and sad so I hope this will change for her. The romantic poem he wrote for her was really good too. He was always intent on loving her without asking anything in return, which is the purest form of love in fiction. I can't believe out of all the characters with the thickest plot armor Escanor is the only one who died. Damn it. Besides Escanor saving the episode, I think Demon King was a pushover in every single form he took. There was no reason to drag the fight so much, it had absolutely no weight. Even Estarossa was a bigger challenge to the Sins compared to the King and he was supposed to be inferior. But anyway, at least the battle is over, thank christ. |
| The best sin out of the 7 and the one who was singlehandedly backpacking this terrible final season and he had to be the one to die. Damn they really toned down Merlin's scar compared to the manga. |

| Poor Escanor, his last conversation with Merlin was sad. This was a good fight. Visuals were great. Escanor was a great character. Merlin hugs and kisses him in the end THIS IS GOOD ROMANCE! Finally after 4 seasons. Escanor got what he wanted. GG Escanor, you got what you wanted. |

| They animated the Escanor farewell scene better than any other scenes of this season. But it was still way beautiful and emotional in the manga. In the anime Merlin said “However the proof that you lived, that you loved me, and that you were a man, is something I'll burn into my body” In the manga Merlin said “But as proof of your life as proof you existed...I'll take these burns upon me...as symbol of the one man who ever loved me” The manga one is much more impactful and beautiful than the anime.... And I didn't like the angle of the kissing scene in the anime, it looked like they were trying to censor it in a shitty way. I wish they kept the angle same as in the manga. |
| I was prepared for the death of escanor. But omg that kiss with Merlin & his last words to all his friends . It was so emotional In my opinion he is the best character in this series |

| I wasn't sure how Merlin x Escanor would end here, since it seemed one-sided all this time, but that was beautiful and bittersweet. RIP Escanor, you were amazing all the way to the end. |

| My man Escanor died a virgin, poor guy, despite it all he lived a very fun and fulfilling life. though his time in the world was short it was a very fun and interesting life as he went through many adventures as a member of the 7 deadly sins |
| Even as a Escanor fan I have to say... his death f*cking sucked. There was no need for him to burn his life, Meliodas generated multiple times the energy they needed to defeat the demon lord, Escanor literally died for nothing... |

What an episode... Merlin's hint about a past sin has me curious. Also, the burning of her face is an ultimate sign of gratitude for his love. She is, imo, the most interesting character. Mystique is the prime je ne sais quoi that lures me into her personality. I just want to see the marriages between King and Diane, and Ban and Elaine now. I hope it happens before this show ends 🧐 |
