I disagree.
Rating scores should just be that--rating scores. A basic idea of how you feel about an anime.
Think about it for a sec, the rating system is 1-10. Even if you add a decimal system, the amount of different scores you can make are very limited.
Let's imagine this scenario:

I give Your Name a 9.8
I later watch Spirited Away, which I found to be WAAAYY better, but the maximum I can go is 10.
Giving Spirited Away a 10, would appear as though I only like it a little more than Your Name, even though I love it miles more.

An option to change all scores at once would fix that.

"lower all by 0.5"

Now you have I give Your Name at 9.3 and Spirited Away at 10, without creating the same problem again.

Even though it would be more precise, I think it would be more trouble than it's worth it.

When I rate a show, I round it to the closer number without decimals, like 8.2->8 or 6.9->7

Try to think all the work it would take to adjust all shows you have watched already to reflect this change.

you pointed to a good idea
If the scores have a decimal point, the ratings become more realistic

Might as well make list a top (insert number of anime you saw) anime.

There should be .5 scale. All decimals would be too much though

I want at least a x.5 but MAL already decided that they won't add it. I would be more than content with a .25, .5, .75 addition. It doesn't have to be .1, .2, .3, etc.

+1

There were many cases where I wished for such an addition.

One Piece episode 914 & 915 & 1027 were a mistake and 957 brought the salvation - FMmatron

I'll admit I've wanted this because sometimes it's almost a 7 but just not there. And then I'll feel unfair in my rating but I guess it makes it easier and MAL can't be bothered with more work.

I'd totally love to at least have .5 scores, but the suggestion was already denied.

"Add more digits in the rating (e.g. 7,5 instead of the floored 7)"
Implementing this would require some work. Next to that, most people don't use anything lower than 4. If you want to make your ratings more accurate, balance out the entire list by scoring some series down.

I want a 1-5 scale. But we can't all have our way.

We don't need such a gimmick, and I'm quite glad that it isn't a feature.

It would be nice to have .5 score, but only that. Also I think the biggest dilemma is when you want to rate an anime between 7 and 8. But still I don't mind the current system.

Honestly, this could be solved by MAL giving two scoring slots: one for /10 scores and one for "put whatever you want here".
my guy one could put a ascii penordick on the tag slot if they wish to

I think that is little idiot, this is arbitrary page and i dont think that a scale with 100 numbers solve problems because:

Will be more boring for new users.
In general scores are from 1 to 5, 10 is more that suficient
can be conflitive with old series that and with future series ,they will not be comparable because they use different scales

I do this whenever I score my anime. Because I'm so pedantic and like having everything I watch ranked. It's something I want MAL to incorporate into their scoring system. Because for instance, I can give one anime a score of 7.6 and other a score of 8.3 but I'd still have to round that an 8 even though one would be considerably better than the other.

Nobody said that rounding up here has to be done by a standard, for example, I round up only from .85. It's hard to justify something that has 60% of the decimal score to be a grade higher, however, 85% seems reasonable enough.

As for the whole decimal ranking, it would be more accurate, but I see reasons why the would not want that. I just put the real score in tags, it's convenient enough.

Then I really could give something a rating of Samuel L. Jackson's face on a $100 bill.

I support this wholeheartedly.

Incidentally this was actually the subject of an April Fool's prank by the Hummingbird (now Kitsu) admins. They made it a 73-point scale, where the 73 points were actually all just animal face emoji or something of that sort, with no inherent numerical meaning.

I will be happy if they add a 0.5 scales, all decimal will be too much
Even though there are 1-10, I never really utilize 1-5
since every anime I've finished are fine
the difference are how good they are

Just round it off

Ex: If I give 7.8, then automatic I will give it an 8

BUT I DON'T GIVE A DECIMAL PERCENTAGE PERSONALLY, I FOLLOW MAL'S SCORING
