| Might just be me, but the typical self-insert main character kinda hair is actually nice. It has that sense of practicality and realism to it too. Short, simple and neat (at most a little messy). | I like the beautiful longer hairstyles with bangs on guys. More of natural/smooth shapes rather than the surreal spiked "shounen" shapes. Beautiful hair decorations (like in some of the examples) are a definite bonus. Superlong graceful hair (with or without a braid) on adult guys like Izuminokami Kanesada from Touken Ranbu and Jack from Pandora Hearts. Long layered hair (known in Japan as ロングウルフカット) like Rui Minazuki from Tsukiuta, Ookurikara from Touken Ranbu, or Kaname from Vampire Knight. Especially when it's thin enough to give it a tail-like appearance. I actually used to have this myself, but stopped only because it's too difficult to find hairdressers that can do it properly outside of Japan, and I moved out of California where the Japanese hairstylists are mostly at. I also like mid-length wavy hair on guys, like Gilbert Nightray from Pandora Hearts. Some ponytails can be adorable on guys, too. Shoulder ponytails, like Hajime Saito from Hakuouki. And asymmetrical shorter hair where the bangs are longer can be nice too, like Mikazuki Munechika from Touken Ranbu or Ginoza from Psycho-Pass. The curtain bangs is more old-fashioned 90's style, but I still like it if it's done right with the bangs long. Think it looks cuter on more youthful faces. Closest I can think of is Sunohara from Clannad. |
