| Good start of the anime but the ending was a little gayish for my taste ... If I remember correctly they told them that their bombs went as far a 9 clicks while the Empire's archers and all can go max 1 click. So that's why that dude had that strange nightmare of his people dying. |

| Sugawara making the loli his top priority, he knows what's up. Pretty good start to the season, would really like to see the aftermath of the earthquake. Also enjoy whenever those plebs get rekt from technology. Best girl Rory who had very little screen time, though Princess had some great moments again this ones dedicated to you. |

| Damn it came back with a bang. I'm really intrigued about reading the manga (goddamit i dont read those...but...but the stories sound so good...) I really like how a lot of things are though out in this series. |
| My God, this can become my AOTS easily. The opening and the ending were both really good. That prick prince (is he voiced by Katsuyuki Konishi, right?) scene with the rabbit woman was unexpected, I think they wouldn't animate scenes like that. And now an Eartquake... things sure start strong! I also have to say that I like the detail that despite being a fantasy world with mythology creatures and that, brutal elements like the dark side of the capital or having beautiful creatures like Missery being prostitues gave the series a nice element. Not every fantasy world can be idealized and pretty. Btw, Piña in this episode showing again why she is best girl with the money scene was another highligh of the episode. |

Nice seeing the show back again. Not enough Rory in this ep but at least there was a lot of Pina.  Those old men were quick to change their mind after seeing Japan's military power.  |

| solid start but kinda weird how the first season seemed to tone down alot of stuff from what i read of the manga as comparison but this one included a rape scene. |

First I must say, great to see GATE back again. Just a continuation of where left off and honestly, I don't know why they split it and didn't let it just run for the whole Summer-Fall season. Moving on, Love the opening and especially the ending animation. I must say, Rory sure was cute (ending animation). personally, I like her the best. Now for the actually episode. Rushed is all there really is to be said about it. Alot of things was left out but I can understand. Its just too much to I would say but that's wrong. just going for the most out of place scene is where Yao is asking about Itami. I was like "Did she get rejected already?"....WTH. It was the senates who were supposed to be testing the guns themselves and not just observing. Tyuule(the bunny slave) looked better in the manga. that's for sure. not just her, but just about all the female in this series to boot. Zorzal is the only one(yes he's a male) who looks better in the anime than the manga. Well him and Lelei's teacher that is. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH................................. That earthquake came too quick. I though it was supposed to be volume 3 and 4 being done in this season with maybe MAYBE part of volume 5. If so, then why the DAMN RUSH!!?? I lot I would of loved/liked to see in this first episode didn't happen. |

| welcome back gate!, just judging from the source we know some rough shit happens but when i saw that scene i was like well guess were gonna go all out huh dayum. OP and ED are nice too,will say as a anime only watcher earthquake seemed kinda sudden felt like it was jammed right in at the end. |

Very slight spoiler of ep 2: Spoiler for the Bunny Queen: I feel like S2 will let people down for a bit because the dark elve arc is not on par with the rest going on. It gets more interesting the more the whole diplomatic game gets underway with Sugawara on top of his game. |

| Great that Gate's back but did not expect it to start this way. The asshole prince earned my hate after the beginning scene. The OP was good(Although I noticed they re-used scenes from S1). Gotta watch the ED seperate to decide if I liked it or not. All in all good episode and gonna have to mentally prepare myself since I heard it gets darker. Oh yeah and wanted to see more of Rory. |
| Well ok, kind of a mellow episode compared to the majority of last season, but i like the direction of where the anime is heading towards - you can tell that they're dropping the comedy/quirkiness slightly and opting for the more serious, dark sorta vibe coming into season 2. Which kinda makes sense since they're going to plunge into the Empire's politics etc. Also ... Rory, Lelei and Tuka in JSDF uniforms and being recruits? That was a pretty amazing ED i would say. |
| What? Why did they change the interaction between Itami and Pina?? In the manga, it showed that Pina has an affection (to a degree ) or a crush on Itami during the Garden Party. Anyways, it was kind of great that they sticked to the adaption somewhat(Especially with the Bunny Rape), but they did cut some interactions which could have made the viewers go "kyaa!!" |

The first maybe translated "Sugawara-dono" and "Sugawara-sama" as the same thing (for example "Sir Sugawara"). Can someone please explain to me, why the English subtitles say "Sugawara-dono", when the character clearly says "Sugawara-sama"? I know this question has actually nothing to do with anime per se, but I am simply confused as per why would sub group change one Japanese title into the other. So weird. I'm still watching the ep, I'll write something more about it once I'm done. Then a second person saw the first line with his name and heard "Sugawara-dono", so did a "Find & Replace" of all instances of the translation to "Sugawara-dono". But they didn't notice the dialogue in later instances was "-sama" instead of "-dono". |
