East of Eden. I'd like to watch all of James Dean's films by the end of the week.

It made me sympathize with the protagonist. Although I wished certain characters were fleshed out more, I enjoyed the dynamics that played out within all of them.

I haven't watched any movies in so long, I never watch them anymore.

I think the last one I watched was Nacho Libre for the 50th time with a friend.

A Bride for Rip Van Winkle (2016)

It's nice to see some social commentaries on
modern society~urban tokyo and shunji iwai
package some of those potraits of into somekind
bittersweet drama + bit of mystery element. I don't
like how the movie live up the title half after and
need almost 3 hour just for the story come to
conclusion.. or there's any?
Well it's fine one, as for now 6/10

Btw gou ayano come in my highlight
again, good performance. Glad to see these guy from "nobody" to "somebody" lol

John Wick: Chapter 2. It was awesome. The fight scenes and all were amazing, especially the train fight with Cassian. However, it kinda felt like it was trying just a tad bit too hard to live up to the first movie. Still, I have to say, John Wick is perhaps one of Keanu Reeves' best performances, if not his best. 9/10.

John Wick Chapter Two. 9/10

I intended to watch Rings 3 (Loved the franchise as a kid), then I saw those horrible ratings. Went for John Wick, was a bit reluctant since I didn't watch the first installment. Loved it nonetheless. Its probably on of the best action movies I've ever seen.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo 7/10
It was a decent thriller/mystery, but there is something about David Fincher's films I dislike. And it's difficult to even explain what I mean by that. It's just all of his movies I've seen were decent, but nothing more, I've never felt "whoooa" while watching them.

This one also has a bit disappointing conclusion. I've never read the books so I don't know whose fault is that, but there almost were no climax whatsoever, and for a criminal mystery, the execution of it was also rather average, clues are a bit too obvious (or maybe I've just seen too many mystery movies and series). The third act is quite a disappointment imo, especially after that whole build-up.
As for the acting, Rooney Mara did a great job, Craig and the rest wasn't spectacular or even memorable. But maybe that's because the characters weren't?

Fucking phenomenal movie!

Only seen the Spiderman reboot so never knew Garfield was such a good actor, I mean, he gave a masterful performance. Worthy of an Oscar! And the directing as well, Mel Gibson blew it out of the park.

Second favorite war film; 9/10.

The Witch. Definitely the scariest movie to have come out in the last few years. The performances were great (especially those from the child actors and actresses) and the atmosphere was aided wonderfully by the cinematography and colour grading.

Hunt for the Wilderpeople

An incredibly charming and likeable comedy from New Zealand about a foster kid and his adopted uncle running from the law through the bush. Plenty of heart, some enjoyable characters and a few good jokes (though I was expecting it to be a little bit funnier if I'm honest)

Definitely worth a watch 7/10

So how is latest movie in the long line of whoring teenage girls otherwise known as the Disney Princess franchise?

Well it was actually very good, but to be honest I've come to expect this from those constant purveyors of high quality material otherwise known as Pixar.
The characters and performances were all good (even from Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson) the music was good, the animation was jaw dropping and it really benefited from leaning heavily on it's Pacific islands setting. I think this might be the most beautiful that CGI water has ever looked.

My only minor complaint is that it followed a lot of the cliches we have come to expect from Disney but it still did make efforts to stray from the standard formula at times.

Overall a very good entry into the whole Disney Princess franchise. 8/10

The Emperor's New Groove

It was really funny and enjoyable to watch.

I don't see why some people say it's a part of Disney's Downfall, comparing it to Lion King 1 & 1/2, which is ridiculous.

House (Hausu) (1977)

A Japanese horror film produced by Toho. Not only is it the strangest horror film I've ever seen, it's the strangest film I've seen, ever. Trippy visuals, weird cinematography and effects, and a pop-ish soundtrack. It was actually pretty enjoyable though.

The last film i watched was "Would you rather".
I was a simple story revolving a bunch of people needing money and a "fun" game the competed in for it
- The plot was enough to get me intrested since it showed how far can someone go for a bunch of $$$.
- Character were ok although i wish every one of them got some pre game development instead of the main protagonist only.
- The problems i had with this movie is the lack of gore, and a couple plot holes here and there.
Overall pretty cool 7/10.

The five last movies i watched, all happened to be anime.

The last one if i recall correctly was The girl who leapt through time
I actually avoided watching this one for quite some time then suddenly decided to watch it. It was quite nice to watch. Nothing extraordinary though.

As for the non-animated movies, i believe the last one i watched was a korean movie called The Hypnotized(2004)
I like watching this movie enough to keep watching it until the end, not because it had an original plot but the way the movie was filmed and the how the story was told was Interesting. Esp the hallucination parts towards the end.

The Handmaiden.

Don't know if I really liked it. It finally got interesting around the halfway mark but I don't know if I'm so used to plot twists and thriller Korean movies but I didn't really find it mind blowing. It was pretty good still I guess.

I thought the sex scenes were unnecessary and anything but erotic. Can't say I liked the main leads.

The Dark Knight Rises - 7/10

Second time watching this. Liked it. I still think Begins is the best Batman movie.

The alternating aspect ratios don't work for me. It's jarring at times. I get why the IMAX scenes are in 16:9, but why didn't he film the rest in the same high ratio?

Split.

M. Shyamalan's movies were a huge failure after he made Lady In The Water, but I think he made a good comeback with Split. James McCavoy did so well with how he switches personality, the movie was thrilling although I expected more but other than that, great movie. Watched it a 2nd time in college (was in low quality though since it just came out on January) and still never bored me.
