| I don't mind rating a show early, more because there are probably people like me who are interested in other peoples first impressions of a show also, but being ranked so high so fast does seem a little ridiculous, i mean the show looked nice, the story seemed ok, but it most definitely did not #%$@ rainbows. |

C = The mean score across the entire Anime DB. === Actually, I think the system is already in place. Don't know why SnK is even being ranked. Because you don't know that above calculation only applied to the shows who finished airing not on those who are still airing now.If someone gave SnK a 1 after 1 ep or 10 after 1 ep both scores are going to be counted at this point. |

| All time? No, but it was the 12th highest in 2012 with 2 million something volumes sold. Considering how big the Japanese manga market is it's a pretty big success. |

Not too familiar with what's in Jump, other than I believe it's aimed at kids to early/mid-teens. My initial reaction would be that SnK is too gruesome to be Jump material. |

| THIS SHOW IS FVCKING AWESOME. The Concept isn't new or anything but looking on the way they did the animation, It was amazingly marvelous. I feel like i was a part of the show itself waiting for the titans to come in. I think it deserves it's spot for the moment. Tbh, it was really a surprise for me seeing a show with a recycled concept but amazingly done. |

| There's a gap between what's acceptable in weekly & monthly publications, for whatever reason. Aside from Death Note, I can't think of anything moody-dark of note that's been a SJ title... or, at the very least, nothing that's lasted long enough to be known. And Death Note's reliance on heart attacks, rather than more brutal methods of murder, always kept it in the 'safe' zone, visually. SJ just ain't the same magazine that once ran Fist of the North Star and City Hunter... |

| Ratings give people an idea on how good the show is so it isn't entirely bad to rate series after the first episode, then at least people can save their time if something really isn't worth watching or find something they didn't think would be good to be worth watching. That is if their opinions on shows don't contrast too much to the general MAL communities'. |

It's everywhere in the JP fandom. When he was introduced in the manga, I had expected that he'd be shipped with Irwin or Hanji mostly. But no... they ship him with Eren mostly. (WHY?!) Reasons. |

| I gave it a 9 for the first episode, what will follow we'll see, planned to read the manga since I first heard it'll be made into an anime, now seeing how good the first episode was I'll be sure to check the manga as well. I understand the concern with "just the first episode and the score it's so high already" but it really deserves it. |

This is one of the reasons that annoy me for being a girl who watches anime. People usually jumps to the conclusion that we only care for men with no clothes, yaoi and shit. But that's okay, it's your generalization. Though yes, I have to agree that many are like that, but there are exceptions. |

| Oh, this thread again. Deja vu. I've seen this exact same thread in Gintama's, SAO's and Fate/Zero's boards. I think even Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun got one and that show didn't even debut in the top 100. After so many instances of new shows debuting very high in the rankings you start to think that maybe people will catch on, but apparently not. I mean, come on, this isn't the first time this has happened and this won't be the last either. It was a very good first episode and some people adjust their ratings as the series goes on. If it devolves into an unfaithful mess of an adaptation, people will react accordingly and the ratings will drop. If it does end up being a very good adaptation, it will either maintain it's score, rise even more or drop because of various reasons. It can either be the new FMA:Brotherhood/S;G of ratings (an increase in score after the ending), go the SAO way(a harsh decrease because of the decreasing quality of the series), or the FateZero/Madoka journey (good series that slowly descend on the rankings as more people watch them because reasons). MAL scores are usually predictable after some time. --edit: oh, and I much rather see people being hyped about shows like this than the new harem/moeblob hit show. If every other "overhyped" show can follow this kind of quality, then let them come. |

| Guys, what I'm about to say may be shocking news to some, but I ask that you please understand that after some weeks of depression and months of treatment you *may* get over it. It's okay for people to be enthusiastic over a new anime. I'll say even more: not everything that is popular ends up being shit! For real! I know, I was devastated to discover that too. Sometimes I still have to inject my daily dose of cynicism and bitterness to avoid having withdrawal symptoms. I think it's pretty egotistic to ask other people to tone down their love for something just because it doesn't meet your ideal of a perfectly methodic and analytical world or because you don't like said object of love as much as everyone else. The word overrated/hyped has been thrown around so much in the internet that it stopped having any kind of significance. It's the new "epic". I would advise you to get over it and enjoy or dislike the show regardless of other people's opinions about it. |
| Going onto 40 chapters read, and watched the first 2 episodes of the anime, and so far its alright, but that's it. I don't know how anyone can give this series a high rating. NOTHING GOOD HAPPENS, nothing at all. Contains some manga spoiler: |
