Haite Kudasai, Takamine-san Episode 1 Discussion

Gotta give Crunchyroll credit for actually licensing the uncensored version of this. Look, respect to this show embracing the gooner category, but that’s about all it does. Won’t be doing weekly write ups on this, but first episode is an accurate and honest introduction to the series. What you see is what you get.

Story is essentially nonexistent, MC is annoying and whines constantly, female lead just takes advantage of him, etc. It’s a turn your brain off and watch sort of show. Don’t come into this expecting any sort of character growth or substance. It’s very much just playing into the “I can’t believe it’s not hentai” trope. Really just going to be one of those shows you watch to see how crazy it gets.

I lost all my light-hearted joy for this show after she blackmailed him in that way. I would absolutely despise her if I were him, so much so that I would no longer be able to enjoy her flashing and teasing. Also, it doesn't help the enjoyment of the show that he's a spineless twit.

Let me preface this by saying this is my favorite manga and have been reading it from the beginning. I will say I was quite surprised it was turned into an anime, one because the art is so good no anime has the budget to do it justice and second yeah the plot is centered around a girl taking off her underwear so there is a TON of nudity (with much of it full frontal) so...yeah.
Anyway...
Surprisingly faithfull, though there wasn't any full frontal nudity in the begining so I guess we'll see when we get to those scenes. Overall the voices were pretty good, obviously the art isn't going to be as good as the manga but it was pretty inconsistent (she is pretty tall but her height kept fluctuating the entire episode and in one scene she seemed to be half his height o_0) and the direction was nothing special. The framing of shots (where they had to fill out the surroundings for a manga panel to fit a widescreen) all looked kind of...odd. Oh well maybe I'm being too nitpicky.

Also to address some concerns about Takamine herself, she is NOT a bitch. Her motives will be revealed soon enough just be patient. Don't always judge a book by it's cover, her power makes her fearless but that's about it.

Also this is NOT degenerate stuff if you want that the author, Yuichi Hiiragi has another character almost identical to Takamine (see if you can spot the differences) who is full on hentai. Google Kendo Shoujo if you are so inclined (you were warned about the content).

Looking forward to more, because even less than perfect Takamine is better than no Takamine.

MC of this anime is a literal cuckold fantasy - a total pushover, and overall trash human being whose value is dictated by a toxic femoid that has no qualms about destroying one's life. Be better guys, don't watch this shit, or at least don't appreciate it.

Who is the first one to commit a crime here? Shirota peeped, is it OK for a guy to watch a girl change her clothes? AND she offered for him to help her without blackmail but he refused. She couldn't let him go when he knows about her powers, wouldn't she be vulnerable to him blackmailing her?
