hey , i think we share the same taste in this medium : we both look for human nature & literature aka slice of life. i like How you mention "stoic character" in your review. just saying, it's nice to see people like you here on MAL who appreciate anime/manga to the fullest. thanks for existing here.

Dear Mr, Kind_Fish,

I have a favor to ask of you. We've spent time talking about anime. Quite a lot actually. I am always happy when you write me about anime and manga. My favor, however, lies in the "non-animated" film industry. I want you to watch a movie for me. Its called "My Tomorrow, Your Yesterday." It is a Japanese film. The reason I want you to watch this film because I believe that, although the animated world is something which we can admire and look up to, the non-animated film industry must also be something to take notice from. I say this because a wide number of the anime and manga fans who I have met have turned a shoulder to the non-animated film industry for various reasons. I suppose most reasons are that they follow the ideology that watching non-animated films is, to a certain extent, a betrayal of animated movies. I'm not sure how your previous experiences have been with people like this or perhaps you are even one yourself. Regardless please watch the film which I have stated above. I absolutely do not exaggerate when I say that this film has appealed to me more than all those which are animated. These films being Kimi No Na Wa (by Makoto Shinkai), Wolf Children (by Mamoru Hosoda) or even Ghibli films (by Hayao Miyazaki). I'm not sure how you will like the film, however when you meet someone who disregards the non-animated film industry, please show them this film. Even if it doesn't appeal to you, I'm sure it will evoke tremendous amounts of emotion in at least someone who you show it to.

P.S I almost cried when I saw that the university which one of the main characters was attending was the university which I aspire to attend as well. Perhaps this is the reason why I fell so in love with this film. Also on the topic of crying, I sobbed every 5 minutes after the great revelation which takes place about halfway through the film.

P.P.S This film generates Kimi No Na Wa like vibes. It is a story where love is the main theme and every action and every minute is dedicated to the love between two people. If you are more into an action film rather than a pure love story, you may not enjoy it. Nevertheless, I still beg you to watch this simply put, masterpiece.

Lol, dude, you changed your username. Caught me off guard, why did you change it? I liked kind fish! I'm doing pretty good. Did your college applications go well? Btw I've been reading a ton of manga lately. Specifically one called "Grand Blue". I really really recommend you check it out. Its really funny and has great art which expresses the emotions of the characters perfectly. If you have any manga recommendations, hit me up!
