Hina is really the worst.

Yeah yeah she did all she could to protect him and his dream, but this doesn't change she always chose the way to make him suffer the most. And now this.

Go for it, Rui!

Honestly not as bad was I was expecting. I don't ship Natsuo with Rui, but I am team Rui as in I want Rui to find someone who likes her mutually. I just think Natsuo is still going to ponder on Hina until the next girl captures his heart. If he pursues Rui now, she just might be his rebound. I understand why she would have feelings for him though. Not just by the thought of Natsuo, but what he had done for her before the fiasco unfolded so deeply.

I wish we could have extended this by more episodes. Not that I have read the manga, but I have a feeling many of the characters had more development than we saw here. It's quite unfortunate really.

I think what really resonated with me was the message in the last two or three episodes. I really needed to hear what sensei had to say about having the resolve to be a novelist. I question my ability in the career I chose myself these days, but I am quite determined because I love what I do. I don't simply want the title, but to be one with it. I thought that was important.

I loved the OP. I hated the adults. The teens, okay, I get it - at that age, your emotions aren't too stable and communication is hard. I think the main message is that no one really knows what they're doing when dealing with other people, hence the OP.

Speaking of the OP, those had to be scenes that were in Natsuo's award winning story right? Just gave me that impression, due to what Natsuo was writing about (rain, rainbows, car windows, etc...). Perhaps it really was a song Rui wrote though, since she is the one singing it at all. In any case, aaaahhh!! (I'm tired.)

I made > A POST < here on this forum reminding ppl interested in the manga to read from ch 1, pointing out some of the stuff they skipped. The anime truly skips some crucial parts(including legit deleting an important side char, Hina's friend Maki + one of the two rings, big F), especially regarding Hina's character & her relationship with Natsuo & might make it look like more of a fling that goes away, when it's anything but.

Enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. Would have enjoyed it much more if they expanded on all of the side characters though. I didn't even get the point of why Alex was introduced at all since he added absolutely nothing to the story.

Honestly, I'm impressed by Kiriya-sensei's intuition, by figuring out the truth about Hina and Natsuo's relationship through his writing.
She made the right choice though, to leave her old job and relationship behind, that was mature. Their relationship wouldn't have been anything more.

"I'm sorry, I love you."

On the other hand, Natsuo's screeching is unbearable. RIP headphone users.

Natsuo-kun's got a pretty solid support system though, despite being such a shitty person to his loved ones. His friends care about him, his family cares about him, his teacher cares about him. I admire Marie-chan's advice :")

I- He DOES NOT DESERVE THAT AWARD. Hina-sensei had to move away and start her life all over while he gets the full support from friends and family and RECEIVING A GODDAMN AWARD FOR THEIR LOVE STORY?!!?!?!?
I get it, he had to cope through writing and he didn't actively submit his writings, but it just doesn't feel fair at all, for the focus to be on him.

Rui lost her mind. Seriously man, poor Rui :(

I was going to give it a 10, but the ending was kinda disappointing. It all lead to good ending. If the author chosed NatsuoxHina then she should end it like that and not give another bed scene with Rui. This doesn't feel like this story should have few choices and end undecided...
There was Hina or Rui or Momo and if after that all left to Hina while showing that Rui had let go and managed to live on then why making this stupid come back and going towards some harem route. I do like harem anime, but this was so good story why waste it...
How would their parents react if they knew he also did younger sister and is continuing with her when the older one left? So I hope it won't happen.

I liked other characters also maybe beside Alex who was really badly written; unrealistic and not fitting the rest of plot like taken from different comedy anime.

I hope it will have second season with a proper end, but really it would be fine if this ended with happy ending Hina.

The anime was great and the OP/ED songs/visual were perfect! They made the anime to be more than it was. VA of Rias Gremory and Irina Shidou almost made it perfect anime. I loved all 11 episodes.. only that last one left me confused :/

Thx to this anime I got to know Alisa Takigawa songs and I love them.
Oh and Kawaki wo Ameku visual I knew for long time from YT and I loved it, but this visual from OP is way better.

I enjoyed the anime up until the last two episodes. After watching it end, I felt nothing sadly. I do like that it was open ended, that's not the problem for me. It just went by so fast (which from what I'm reading, the manga is very long) and I could barely process anything beyond a surface level. Ah well, it was an experience. After being depressed for years and not being able to enjoy anime, it's nice to sit through something and not give up on it. I doubt I'll read the manga but hey... only time will tell. Take care.

Well, i think you can't compare manga and anime since they are way too different (i didn't read manga but i read some threads and i get that they are way too different). I saw some manga pages i can totally say that manga has more daring scenes. Also it very crusial what charactes do, you can ruin our perception with few acts, for example you can make a character a man or a loser on just one episode or chapter ... And guess both anime and manga were ruined, maybe because author didn't plan roo far and couldn't decide how things should be at the end.
First of all i really liked that there were some erotic scenes but they didn't ruin anything with stupid pantsyshots.
I really liked 1-st episode and sevel scenes in the anime, but that is all. Some argue who is the best girl etc. Well for anime it was obvious:
Fujii, Natsuo: I can only see him as a wimp in anime. Characted is almost not developing. Actually it is not showed why he fell in love in Hina or what did he even like about her. You can't actually feel the time in anime (for exmaple how long he was dating someone or how many days passed since he was with one girl then switched to another). He did nothing but switch to different heroines. He didn't think at all. I can't see him striving to anything. The only thing showen in anime that he gets Rui and gets along her, also he perfectly understand her and her feelings.

Also i couldn't grasp how tall he is. In some scenes girls looked tiny next to him, in some scenes he is shown as tall as Sensei and a bit taller than Rui.

Also i can understand that he may be very diffent in manga, he may have acted differently etc, that's why you can't compare anime and manga characters.

Tachibana, Hina: A good character, however i don't like her huge chest. I totally can understand big chests but there is moderation, i don't like when they draw it so huge that head looks tiny compared to it, it's ridiculous in proportions. Actually, in the anime i can't understand why she fell in love with MC. It is not showen how. There were great scenes and momets with MC but i didn't count them as romantic at all. It may be way too different in manga. Also it is stated that she didn't see MC as adult. And yes in anime Natsuo did nothing to be one, only words, dreams and promises. We didn't see him work hard or strive for something. So i can't really grasp why she suddenly fell in love etc. We can hardly see any romantic moments between her and Natsuo. Also in anime she doesn't know about her sister and Natsuo (imean what happened in episode 1, that could totally change everything. Or how he almost did it with Kashiwabara, Momo).

Tachibana, Rui: The best character in the anime, we can see how she develops. First don't know her motives, but i think she sleep with Natsuo in order to better understand her sister. Then it is shown that he is socially akward. Natsuo totally saw that and understood her. He helped her, there were so many romantic moments, he totally understood when she was jealous etc. And yes in anime we can totally undestand and see that she grew closer to Natsuo, that she cared for him (meals, helped him to walk, went in the rain to fetch him an umbrella etc), it is shown that she slowly fell in love with him, she withdrew her work, she cared for his fellings, she never got really mad for him and always forgave him. It is shown that she was jealous of him, spent time with him, joined the same club etc. She knew that she slept with his Nee. When she was close to Natsuo it was clear that she was okay with everything (i don't actually mind). Yes we know how awkward she is, so it really meant that she also wanted to. In anime we can't say that her love was immature or anything. For me it was love and you can tatally see their chemistry.

The way i see it, we a left with an open ending. If we want we can assume that Hina returns and be with Natsuo. If we want we can assume that Natsuo develops deep feeling towards Rui and they will be together.

Ofc thing may be very different in manga and there may be a lot of developments that may change our perception of any character. The threads i read about manga totally ruined Rui for me made Hina a bit more attractive. Why? Well, i can only blame the author, both characters were made attractive and there two ships there. So i think Natsuo was rushing around between two sisters, and that
does not make it attractive and you can't really say then that Hina was the only one for him, so the author ruins a character for me. As i read Rui (what a rare name) also is ruined, don't know anything about NY and how even the plot went there ... Breaking up means the author wants to change direction toward another girl and depending how it is done we form our relation. So Rui had no real reasons to break up, while Hina alwasys breaks up for a reason (for his sake), and thats why some people start to hate Rui. Also the author wants to sit on two chairs and still can't really end with one girl and also ruins Hina for us. Sad but i would leave an open ending in anime where viewer can decide.

NATSUO YOU HAVE RUI!!

Anyway, Rui is the only one who had the most character development, over time she has changed a lot, she learned and got enlightened by new emotions and experiences

She is definitely way more faithful than Hina by a billion folds, has cooking skills, writing skills, and much more.

Hina and Natsuo has no consideration for Rui at all. Hina and Natsuos dialogue are beyond abhorent, where else Rui is the only one to ever have good dialogues....

The only reason why I managed to binge this through is beacause of only Rui.

The series is good, yes. My problem is that the main character, by trying to be comic, obviously takes away from his seriousness. I know it's there to break the tension but it doesn't fit.

At the beginning I really liked the series, but the end… I mean this guy is *** and fucked up everything, I felt so sorry for Rui. I really don’t know if I like or hate the series, it’s something between. (Little Spoiler for the manga: Yes I know the MC and Rui will get together (also a child) but devorced later and the MC get back together with Hina. AND: This fucked up too. Really the MC destroyed the 2 sisters.) So may one of the worst MCs ever I saw in Animes…

The second half of the anime was dumpster fire. The protagonist became less and less likable and I actually wanted the "School Day" ending to be triggered so bad.

The guy is a sad excuse of a human being. I felt bad for Rui but then I changed my mind to "It's a good thing she doesn't have to be with this loser anymore".

If it just end like the last part of EP12 I might be okay with it, but then I found out about the manga ending. So yeah, it's garbage till the end.

This story might be better without Hina. I heard another manga about an ex-girlfriend becoming stepsister is getting an anime adaptation and someone mentioned this dumpster fire so unfortunately I decided to watch it. I hardly rate anything lower than 4/10 but this shit got 1/10. No way to change my mind.

Fumiya is the man.
Kobayashi is a legend.
Natsuo's dad is the most wholesome dad of all dads in the history of dads.

That sums up my feelings about this show

Just watched it again and I maintain these feelings.

Ok then, that's all over I guess. I'm glad that we did receive an actual conclusion to this whole ordeal at least. I'm guessing that this is the actual end of the manga, unless there's more to it? Whatever it is, ending here is completely fine. Although I do feel like this anime kind of butchered what was actually somewhat of a competent story, all things considered. Natsuo should've just continued to f*ck Rui from the beginning, and everything would be completely FINE, because they AREN'T RELATED BY BLOOD AMIRITE LOL XD. But honestly characters sure were super dumb, especially Natsuo and Hina themselves. Again, the forbidden relationship between teacher and student is pretty hot and I'd be lying if I myself didn't have a fetish for it, but still. Watching them try to hide it all was pretty painful. And on the other hand, Rui was there for him all this time. Just bang her and let out the horny, smh.

ANYWAY... it actually didn't completely leave me with a bad taste in the mouth like I thought it would. More or less it left me with something of a "ok then" sort of taste. Not as bad as I thought, but not exactly satisfactory either. I still thing most people blew it out of proportion with how much of a dumpster fire it was, but honestly I was hoping it would go all out on being a complete dumpster fire. It kind of goes a bit more than half-way there, but again it doesn't feel like it really commits and still attempts to try to tell a good story. Which, this story sucks, is random and all over the place, and is not cohesive at all. As for our side characters apart from the main trio, yeah they're just totally just disregarded and nothing more than cannon fodder for this dumpster fire. This show certainly does suck, but surprisingly I think my expectations were so low that it didn't think it was as bad as I was expecting. All in all, it just leaves me with a feeling of "whatever man."

If you were to tell me beforehand that this was going to be a waste of time and that I shouldn't bother, present me who has now completed it would have definitely taken your advice. But I didn't watch it so much for the actual anime, but rather in curiosity to see for myself it was as trashy as people say. And I'll say that no, it's not quite as bad as it is made out to be, but it's still bad though. It certainly doesn't leave me with any good vibes. If I could've receive some "WTF DID I JUST WATCH" sort of vibes, I'd be happy. But again, it kind of leaves me with more of a "whatever" vibe.

Idk. It was something that I couldn't stop watching, but in the end, it only really deserves something like a 3/10. Now if you excuse me, I really have the urge to watch something actually good now. I've actually recently just started black clover; man going back to even that is going to feel like a breath of fresh f*cking air.

A mediocre ending to an otherwise lackluster show. The brisk unraveling of the payoffs feels dull and/or jarring, considering that half of them were set up either in the previous episode or the current one. The level of effort screams veiled advertisement for the manga.

Between the main characters' parents, Fumiya, and the café staff, Domestic Girlfriend really does have a nice supporting cast. If it weren't for them, this anime probably would have been much worse. Even still though, Domestic Girlfriend seems okay for what it is. As a story about characters in a complicated situation making terrible decisions while being lost in their own confusing adolescent and young adult lives, it's about what I expected: not as good as I hoped, but not as bad as I've read. Perhaps the manga is worse? I honestly don't know, but as far as the anime is concerned, I never felt insulted or anything. It's just...awkward?

Kinda nice plot twist ending..
Un-happy and un-complete ending..
Whatever is that, it just too stupid for what they did..

Poor Hina, but it is also her choice to loving such a child and cover everything alone..

Will Natsuo fall into the same "forbidden" hole once again, with Rui-rui?
Will Hina wait Natsuo to became the "real man"?
I am not really curios, really!!
It is end anyway..

Too much exposed H-scene, kiss scene and less drama..
8/10
Have a potential to be better..

Personally I liked Rui-rui, b..but she still likes that damn Natsuo, soo.. bye.. Rui-rui and Momo..
Can only hope u guys got a sequel..

Domestic Girlfriend is an interesting anime because the premise sounds spicy and because it has spicy ecchi scenes, but the episodes are mostly dull on their own.

Also, after episode 3, the anime is presented as a soap opera, which could be a drag to watch. And sometimes the anime is presented as a school funny anime, which made me roll my eyes.

The anime should have stuck with being a light drama with light comedic slice of life moments, with spicy erotic scenes every now and then. Pretty much like the first 3 episodes.

BUT THEY DO SHOW Sexx scenes!!!!! Which is a huge thing!!!! I always appreciate that

Again, Domestic Girlfriend is a spicy anime, but also a boring/dull anime
