| Omg Jōichirō really deserved to win for he made a vegan Rāmen! And it seems a great one, too. That's what I've been looking for since ages, please come here and cook it for me too!! *-* Quite predictable for Jōichirō to win, tough. The show would have proceeded way too fast if Sōma had won now. |

| Soma cooked up a wonderful Apple Risotto for the house judges that gave them a sweet symphony of foodgasmic flavors and it would've been a sure winner if he was cooking against someone his age but his opponent this time his is own father who he lost to for 489 times already. It really is evident that he learns through failure and his 490th lesson will only serve as another stepping stone towards his overwhelming victory in Totsuki Academy. Joichiro's Vegetarian Ramen that was born in the regions of South and Southeast Asia, and cooked with principles acquired from France breathed new life into the judges of the Father-Son Cookoff and bagged him his 490th win as a testament to the experience he had garnered throughout his travels. Megumi, Fumio, and Isshiki were really lucky people to have experienced such an energizing breakfast set courtesy of the Yukihiras. Erina had a really short glimpse of her long-lost mentor but reacted too late to even get a proper look at him. Aww~ It also looks like the Shopping District is in dire straits ever since Soma left. |

| Soma's now lost for the 490th time and man, despite his dish looking good, it was clear that his dad beat him pretty convincingly. More experience and knowledge from his travels helped out but Jouichiro also wanted to satisfy the judges with an unexpected but refreshing approach whereas Soma went a bit too safe to satisfy the nutrition of the judges without considering the flavors as strongly. Still though, it was nice seeing them battle it out here. Soma's got tons of cooking to learn and tons of time to grow too. The Karaage Wars arc is next, and surprisingly I enjoyed this arc a lot despite it feeling like filler to a degree. Refershing setting and storyline as a whole to transition into the Autumn Selection buildup. |
| It's not like I want to see an old lady have intense foodgasms but I find it a little bit annoying that even the fat guy in the first episode got naked and "satisfied" but Fumio-san reverts to her younger self. Young Fumio is very pretty so it's alright but it doesn't seem fair. :P |
